This document discusses the sharing economy and related concepts. It provides an overview of how technologies and networks are enabling new models of shared access to goods and services, shifting from individual ownership to shared utilization of assets. Examples of sharing economy platforms and business models are presented. The benefits are discussed in terms of environmental and social impact, including how it can empower people and boost local economies. Challenges are also noted around regulation and ensuring trust between strangers transacting online.
THE SHARING ECONOMY LACKS A SHARED DEFINITION: GIVING MEANING TO THE TERMSCollaborative Lab
You may have noticed the terms ‘sharing economy’, ‘ peer economy’, ‘collaborative economy’ and ‘collaborative consumption’ being used synonymously. Do these terms have different meanings? Yes. Are their common core ideas that explain the overlap? Absolutely.
In this presentation, we have defined and visualized the terms and core ideas that connect the likes of Airbnb, Taskrabbit, Lyft and Zipcar.
Moving from a Sharing Economy to a Shared EconomyChelsea Rustrum
The sharing economy is great, but how do we integrate sharing into the very fabric of business? How can we build communities that are also companies? How can we distribute value in the form of ownership and governance to users, members, providers, participants, etc.? Using new age finance models, business structures, and current thinking, we can create hybrids that do just that!
Building Shareable Cities: Canada Roadshow Tour with SiG and Cities for PeopleCollaborative Lab
From 10 – 14 February, Collaborative Lab's Chief Strategy Officer April Rinne travelled with Tim Draimin, SiG National's Executive Director, and One Earth's Executive Director Vanessa Timmer on a collaborative economy tour across Canada, co-sponsored by SiG and Cities for People. Speaking with community and government leaders in Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver, the tour was a great insight into collaborative consumption activity in Canada and the potential for shareable cities in North America.

The Sharing Economy is about how the Internet enabled us more than ever to share almost anything. Sharing is part of our genes and today we share almost anything. This phenomenon, also called "collaborative consumption" is not new, but its growing faster than ever before.
Any brand in any sector should be aware of this new economy. In it lie threats. And opportunities for those who know how to change and alter their offering.

World Economic Forum Young Global Leaders Sharing Economy Position Paper June...Collaborative Lab
This paper seeks to place the sharing economy on the global agenda for companies, governments, communities and entrepreneurs alike. It is presented by the WEF YGL Sharing Economy Working Group which is part of the Circular Economy Innovation and New Business Models Initiative.
The goal of this paper is to explain what the sharing economy is and why it holds potential, focusing on key principles, drivers, trends and models. It maps out critical factors and conditions required for access-based business models to scale up, and identifies both opportunities and possible challenges to their success. It also embeds the sharing economy within a larger context and movement focused on resource efficiency, sustainability, changing demographics and user behaviors.
The sharing economy represents one of several substantive investigations by the WEF community into new disruptive business models that are impacting industries, value chains and systems around the world. It is intended to serve as an input to future WEF summits, sessions and engagements focused on the future of business, cities, technology, demographic shifts and a variety of sector-specific verticals.

dAO(demonopolied Autonomous Organization),
The Cooperativism of the Sharing Economy.
DAO(Decentralized Autonomous Organization) is ideal to let people exchange the value without intermediators. However, it is very difficult to realize DAO in real world due to the prematurity of blockchain technology. And the pain is not the centralized intermediator but the monopoly of the value and power by the intermediator in unfair way. So, dAO(demonopolied) Autonomous Organization might be a realistic way to solve the outstanding pains caused by the monopoly platform at current situation of blockchain technology.
Wehome, a cooperative home sharing is the typical example of the community based on dAO.

E=Economy, m=Number of coins, c=speed of coin
E=경제규모
m=암호화폐의 질량(종류)

The Sharing Economy of the People, by the People, for the People - SanKu Jo 2019
최신 버전은 bit.ly/sharingeconomyjosanku 에서 내려 받을 수 있다.

Blockchain brings a huge impact on the Internet. The new Internet with blockchain and disruptive technologies is called as the Internet Squared of the People. Harnessing the internet squared, our society could be upgrade to the society squared. One of example is the fair sharing economy overcoming the monopoly by few sharing platform like uber and airbnb. Wehome on blockchain is the real example of the cooperative home sharing owned by the guests and hosts. In FINNCHAM, Finland Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Korea, I introduced the Internet squared and the society squared along with the cooperativism in the Sharing Economy. Wehome is also presented as the real case of the cooperative home sharing . You could get more information about wehome at http://wehome.me.
Internet Squared of the People empowered by blockchain and disruptive technologies including AI, Bigdata, IoT, etc. Harnessing the Internet Squared, Korea could make a quantum jump in all aspects of the society to be the Korea Squared.

The key features will be "trust, intelligent, and decentralized" on the top of current information Internet.
Blockchain can solve the two big issues that Internet has faced: trust and platform monopoly. With blockchain and many disruptive technologies, Internet is evolving to a new phase that we like to define as INTERNET SQUARED. We will share this concept, its impact, and future with emphasizing the blockchain’s potential and trends. As the technology rules the world, INTERNET SQUARED will bring great changes in our society.
"Wehome: Cooperative Home Sharing on Blockchain Owned by Hosts and Guests"
Blockchain PyeongChang Forum 2019
The Sharing Economy is growing fast but dominated by a few centralized platforms like Airbnb. Blockchain can change the rules of game disrupting the monopoly. Wehome.me is a home sharing on blockchain owned by guests and hosts. With 7 year domain expertise of KOZAZA, Wehome is disrupting Airbnb with new values of 0% commissions and additional incentives for quality guaranteed rooms.

Features of Internet^2(Internet Square): Value Internet, Trust Internet, Decentralized Internet, People Centered Internet
Technology rules the world. So, we could make quantum jump in terms of growth and innovation in Korea harnessing the Internet^2.
Internet^2 & KOREA^2 (Internet squared, Korea squared, Internet to the power 2, Korea to the power 2)
(AI, Bigdata, IoT)
Interent Squared = Internet x Blockchain x Disruptive Technologies
Internet^2: Internet Square of the People Empowered by Blockchain and Disruptive Technologies
(Value, Trust, Decentralized, People Centered)
o KOREA^2(KOREA Squared)
Blockchain solves big issues of the Internet: Trust and big middlemen. We may call this new Internet powered by blockchain as the Internet^2 or Internet Square because this is phenomenal quantum jump in the innovation of the Internet history.
The Internet is originally people centric. This is broken by a few big middlemen. So, we may just return to the Internet with blockchain's feature of decentralization.
Token/coin of blockchain is a kind of packet to carry lots of value through the Internet: The Internet of value.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
