Works Cited Page The final Step to Giving Credit where Credit is due!
What do you already know? True or False A works cited page is essentially the same thing as a bibliography. A bibliography is a story about someone’s life. A works cited page lists works in alphabetical order. Alphabetical order is based primarily on the title of the work.  Every citation should include the year the work was published.
What is a Works Cited Page? A works Cited page (or bibliography) is an alphabetized (by author) list of all sources used in your paper Any source quoted  or paraphrased  in the text of your essay must be included! This is attached to the end of your essay or report

What is an Annotated Bibliography? A bibliography is a list of sources (books, web sites, periodicals, etc) one uses for researching a topic An annotation is a summary/evaluation Thus an annotated bibliography includes a summary/evaluation of each source that you research for your project
How to Create an Annotated Bib. Summarize  the main points of the source; similar to paraphrasing Assess/evaluate  the information: is the info useful? compare it to your other sources? Reflect  on how this source will fit in with your other sources and into your paper; how does it shape your argument? Quote : Add quotes (with page #’s) that you want to use in the paragraphs of your essay
Paraphrasing  Take someone’s words and rephrase into your own words. IF you do not paraphrase correctly, you are plagiarizing.  Change all of the words. Change the word order. YOU MUST STILL CITE THE SOURCE.  Even though you have changed the information into your own words, it is still another person’s IDEA and you MUST give them credit.
