The northern forest is cold because the thicker atmosphere in northern regions makes it harder for sunlight to reach. It was created millions of years ago when forests covered much of the northern hemisphere, and remnants remain today. The most interesting animals are wood ducks, which follow their mothers and safely fall on leaves like pillows, and black bears, which can hibernate for months. Temperatures can drop below -50 degrees Fahrenheit.

The most interesting animal in the northern forest is the wood duck because when they follow their mother they interact with the leaves by falling on them but doing it safely because the leaves are like pillows or cushions which helps them so they don’t get hurt. It is very cool! The second most interesting animal is the black bear because it can hibernate for months in the winter. It is SO unbelievable!
