NECTAR is a collective center in Northeast India that aims to resolve problems in the delivery and management of technology applications to promote social and economic development in the region. It plans to build knowledge of beneficial technologies and ensure their implementation at the grassroots level to address issues like food waste from excess harvests due to lack of storage. NECTAR will focus on technology applications that serve the public good by creating jobs and promoting equitable economic growth through effective use of local resources. Its goal is to apply appropriate technologies leading to development in areas like biodiversity, telemedicine, horticulture and more, to generate employment utilizing local skills and resources.

2. The agriculture productions are
perishable by nature and needs
certain stages of temperature &
humidity to hold the horticultural
production in good conditions for
long lasting periods. During the
peak harvesting time, excess
production is damaged and
completely wasted due to shortage
of storage facilities.

and to resolve all the problems in the delivery,
management and the proper use and extension of
technology applications which will serve individual
and public good and thereby promoting social and
economic development of the North Eastern region
in the highest possible form.

4. The operational aim is to build
and impart knowledge about
technology and form a culture
of adequate and proper
implementation of gainful
technology applications at the
grass-root level and thereby
filling the void that persists at
present in reaching to people,
communities and imply user’s
technology applications that
remain unavailable to them.

5. NECTAR India’s focus is on the emphasis of
technology applications is clearly to serve public
good that will create employment opportunities
among the various poor and disadvantaged
communities to promote equitable economic
growth.
NECTAR’s emphasis is also on the promotion of
effective use of local and natural resources which
contribute to a safety and a cleaner environment
in the North-eastern region.

application of appropriate
technologies which will ultimately
lead to the development in the
areas of biodiversity,
telemedicine, horticulture,
watershed management,
infrastructure planning &
development, , and tele-schooling
using cutting edge solutions and
employment generation etc.
through utilization of local
products/resources and skill
development.
