How you can make a difference! Participate in human capacity building. Create online IT training courses for the CatchITYoung program in collaboration with local community members. Share knowledge. Build ICT tools to enable people to learn and communicate. Become an IT training / entrepreneurial mentor to African Youth. In return, Africans could be cultural and spiritual mentors to the Western world. Build web-enabled development tools to support Initiatives and Businesses in the oneVillage model, to revitalize local and global economy. Field Agents bring capacity building tools to the village. They learn about village life patterns and behavior models, to help design effective ICT tools that enable knowledge sharing and communication.

Rural Farmers Cooperative – Jukwa, Ghana The coop is a way that OVF Ghana can promote sustainable agricultural practices to help local farmers. OVF Ghana needed 10% collateral to complete a transaction with the Ghanaian government to enable the acquisition of a tractor for the cooperative. The timely intervention of OVF-USA through a generous cash donation from Helen Depietro--the grandmother of Jeff Buderer--made it possible to secure the required deposit. Money was needed in an account to prove that the recipient had the resources to manage the equipment and was established as working entity. The District Directorate of Cooperative and Agriculture, approved the delivery of a "Palm Oil and Palm Kennel Oil Processing Plant" to the cooperative. The Option of a multipurpose modern oil mill was carefully chosen, as there are none in the local area and for this reason it has the potential to generate substantial income for the cooperative. The farmers were very grateful for the moral and financial support they received from the oneVillage Foundation.
Rural Farmers Cooperative – Jukwa, Ghana Project Outline Project Name: Jukwa Farmers Coop Location: Jukwa, Ghana Vision: A thriving market in Africa to produce healthy food sustainably. Project Design and Rationale: Work with rural and semi-urban communities in identifying economically viable organic farming operations. We are identifying global organic farming network and technology to build the model for self-sustaining community living. By sustaining the small communities, many of them are in the rural areas in the developing countries, migration from the rural area to urban area would be corrected which will contribute into the balance growth of the human evolution. Goals: 1. Provide a livelihood for local farmers using the land sustainably while providing healthy food. 2. Expand to other communities in the oneVillage Foundation network, identifying where ecological devastation is occurring and organizing communities to bring and end to those practices and restore the land - restorative economics. 3. Teach villagers and farmers how to market traditionally-produced crops as organic, and how to do the record keeping necessary for organic certification. Target Groups: African Farmers Needs: Modern equipment for farming
Catch IT Young – Computing Skills for the Youth Project name: Catch IT Young (IT School) Location: Schools throughout Ghana Vision: To educate the youth about ICT and introduce them to the skills need to prosper in the information economy. Project Design and Rationale: Information Technology Clubs in Ghanaian primary and secondary schools complement conventional education curriculum and teach students how to use computers and the internet, increasing student performance. Catch IT Young was developed jointly by oneVillage Foundation-Ghana and the International Young Professionals Foundation (IYPF)-Ghana, both working under a unified umbrella, the African Youth Initiative (AYI). AYI is a joint youth effort to address the numerous problems of Africa through the use of Information and Communication Technology. Goals: 1. Improve awareness of ICT among students and teachers 2. Assist in Ghana's readiness for its full participation in the global knowledge economy. Target Groups: Primary and secondary students Needs: Computers and money to fund teachers and trainers to expand program to other schools.
Sports People that Care Project Name: Sports People that Care Location: Ghana Vision: The effective use of sports to win the fight against AIDS. Project Design and Rationale: We will use the popularity of football as a way to promote health and teamwork. Specifically the program will be designed to raise awareness about AIDS. Ticket receipts will be used to treat and care for people infected with AIDS as well as towards prevention efforts. Goals: 1. These events will be used to address social issues relating to AIDS. 2. Raise money for AIDS treatment and education. Targeted Groups: General public to promote AIDS awareness and those directly affected by AIDS Pandemic Needs: funding
Community Knowledge Delivery System Project Name: Community Knowledge Development System Vision: Field Agents linked up through a global ICT network that effectively mobilizes the world community to address world urgent issues. Location: Pilot projects to located in unspecified communities throughout Africa. Project Design and Rationale: A central part of the oneVillage Initiative will be the development of a mobile ICT network, linked real time, electronically in the field. We propose an experiment to test out our hypothesis: that giving people in the field real time connections will leading to a rapid increase in innovation and economic development. ICT field agent teams will function as collectors, preliminary processors and retrievers of information from knowledge bases as well as human networks. Goals: 1. Integrate local development projects with ICT 2. Provide practical ICT solutions for underserved communities. Target Groups: People in underserved communities. Needs : Funding for Knowledge design, organization and implementation through field agent teams on the ground.
Unity Center Ecovillages Project Name: Unity Center Vision/theme: Create a new approach to development that empowers local people through a bottom up economy. Locations: Mbita Kenya and Osobo, State Nigeria. Project Design and Rationale: Unity Centers will serve as prototypes for integrated approaches to sustainable development rapidly replicating sustainable solutions throughout the world. This project will: integrate the various oneVillage Initiatives in the form of a tech incubation and local service center that will also provide ecoliving solutions to surrounding regions. Provide a base for Field agents and other support staff who will develop technologies suitable for regional implementation. Goals: 1. demonstrate the economic viability of sustainable development 2. expand economic opportunity for local communities 3. help address urgent infrastructure needs through Initiative programs like Catch IT Young and GEI. Target Groups: People in underserved communities Needs: Funding for construction and operational budget
