Not just facebook and twitter. Social media is the socialisation of web content and it’s nothing new. It’s allowing anyone to publish, coupled with an unlimited network of people.

Similar to Avaaz, Move on and Getup. Started in 2009, 750,000 members who have taken 3m actions. Saved BBC 6 Music, stopped Trident being renewed, government turnaround on selling off woodland. Reason they’ve been successful is they have built a movement: people, power change.
