A convention tool within magazine adverts is a rating by an established
industry; this may be from a well known music critic or from a popular music
magazine or traditionally a newspaper. Hence, this is going to be an inclusion when I
devise my magazine promotion
Release Date
The release date is vital within a magazine advert as this allows the consumer to
acknowledge the date that it is going to be available.
Photograph clear, professional and engaging
This should be the focus point of the advert as it gives a star persona of the artist; it
enables a sense of representation and to a degree an ideology that the artist wants to
illustrate. For instance, for Noah and The Whale ideology is the depiction of freedom,
nature and authenticity. This is important as it highlights the image which the artist
wants to portray.

2. Noah And The Whale are a band that are involved in the current British genre
movement of indie/folk, coincidentally the music artist which we choose to do our
production on was from this specific genre, and so, when concentrating with my
magazine advert this was an inspiration as it emphasised on a natural setting and the
neutral colours are particularly important as this is a theme was extremely present in
our music video. There must be to a degree a sense or representation and depiction of
a star persona and for this particular advert, there is an atmosphere of freedom and
independence of the artist. The band seems to be preoccupied with the aspect of
nature which is what we want to illustrate within our product. There is also a sense of
authenticity to the design.
