The Global Citizenship Project between Greenup County High School in Kentucky and DHA School in Pakistan addressed the problem of racism through creating an informational newsletter. The schools collaborated virtually to develop solutions to challenges in their communities, deciding to focus on raising awareness of racism. Students wrote articles for the newsletter and distributed it via social media to educate their community on the effects of racism. Though some responses were negative, most were positive towards bringing attention to the issue, showing the newsletter was a success in meeting its goal.

Corruption exists at all levels of society in India. Each individual must play their part in eradicating corruption by deciding what actions to take. The students and staff of Design For Change decided to focus their campaign on increasing voter awareness and participation ("VOTE INDIA") as most Indians are unaware of or ignore the importance of voting. They conducted surveys to analyze reasons for not voting and expectations of candidates. Other activities included TV and music video advertisements, street plays in public areas, and designing a staff awareness program to educate their families and neighbors. They initially faced reluctance from the maids who thought they were too old to learn, but were able to convince them to participate. Over the course of a week, the students held classes for the maids after school and saw improvements in their reading abilities. Both the students and maids found the program rewarding and decided to continue it, with more interested in joining. The school principal and a parent praised the initiative for empowering those taught and taking the first steps toward societal change.

Sunbeam School
Corruption exists at all levels of society in India. Each individual must play their part in eradicating corruption by deciding what actions to take. The students and staff of Design For Change decided to focus their campaign on increasing voter awareness and participation ("VOTE INDIA") as most Indians are unaware of or ignore the importance of voting. They conducted surveys to analyze reasons for not voting and expectations of candidates. Other activities included TV and music video advertisements, street plays in public areas, and designing a staff awareness program to educate their families and neighbors. A poster competition was also held in school to creatively spread the message, with the posters displayed inside and outside the school. The effort aims to help people understand the importance of every

Students at Ryan International School organized a literacy program to teach illiterate maids at their school to read basic Hindi words. They initially faced reluctance from the maids who thought they were too old to learn, but were able to convince them to participate. Over the course of a week, the students held classes for the maids after school and saw improvements in their reading abilities. Both the students and maids found the program rewarding and decided to continue it, with more interested in joining. The school principal and a parent praised the initiative for empowering those taught and taking the first steps toward societal change.
GESI Case Study
This case study summarizes an education project on environmental sustainability conducted by interns in Cochabamba, Bolivia over the summer. The interns partnered with a local organization that runs daycares and schools. Their project involved:
1) Establishing partnerships between the local organization and 5 environmental groups in the city to provide workshops on recycling and sustainability.
2) Developing an art curriculum focused on recycling and sustainability for children at the largest daycare center.
3) Organizing a "Green Fair" event to display the children's art and educate parents.
4) Creating recycling and garbage bins for 3 daycare centers with one of the partner organizations.

Peace Week 2017
Lakeridge Junior High held a Peace Week with daily activities focused on improving the school environment and student behavior. Each day addressed a different issue like bullying, littering, and hallway behavior. Activities included a get-to-know-you bingo game, writing positive hallway messages, questions about responding to bullying, a litter scavenger hunt, and a selfie contest. Hundreds of students participated across the week's events. As a result, students were more mindful of their surroundings and respectful of others seeking to enhance the school experience for all.
Recycling - Amideast Jordan 2016 Ma’an
The students at Access / Ma'en participated in a virtual exchange program to address recycling in their community. They created a recycling campaign and encouraged students and teachers to develop recycling habits by collecting cartoons and decorating them as recycling bins. While they faced challenges finding companies to collect recycled materials, they had the new idea to recycle useful items for children at their center. They are hoping to continue the project to help keep their community healthier.
Eliminating Poverty by Promoting Literacy - The Lyceum
This document discusses efforts by students at The Lyceum School in Lahore, Pakistan to eliminate poverty through promoting literacy. It notes that over 60% of poor people in Pakistan are considered transitory poor according to a study. to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover

- 1. Global Citizenship Project GREENUP COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL, GREENUP KENTUCKY IN COLLABORATION WITH [DHA SCHOOL PAKISTAN]
- 2. No to Racism This project is important to our group and community because it is an accepted stereotype in our area that needs addressed immediately. We hope to achieve more awareness of exactly was racism is and how it is wrong. The newsletter addresses the problem of racism by providing more information about it.
- 3. Project Background Greenup County High School in Greenup, Kentucky participated in a virtual exchange program hosted by Global Nomads Group. As part of the program, our school collaborated with DHA School in Pakistan to develop solutions to the challenges our communities face. We decided to address the problem of Racism. To do this, we created a newsletter.
- 4. Process We had to come to a classroom consensus about what to do our project on, and racism was the one that was unopposed. We made small articles together as a class and came up with a short newsletter that depicts racism and how it affects everyone. Then we spread the video into our community using social media to make everyone aware of the effects of racism. Our partner school, the DHA School in Pakistan, seemed enthusiastic about our project and how it addressed the problem of racism.
- 5. Challenges One of the challenges we faced as a class was who was writing, and who was not. Those who did not wish their articles to be in the newsletter were not forced to do put them in. Instead, they were able to work on the formatting and compilation of the paper. Another challenge was the different responses. Most of them were very positive at what we had done, yet others were adamant on degrading the issue of racism. We came to the conclusion of that our newsletter was a success, because it fulfilled our goal of making everyone aware that racism does exist in our community.
- 6. Our Collaboration With positive feedback and suggestions of what to do, Greenup County High School encouraged DHA School in Pakistan to persevere their project. DHA School in Pakistan helped Greenup County High School by giving positive responses on how we could make our newsletter more interesting.
- 7. Final Reflections The success of our project was the impact it provided to our community. It brought so many positive responses in that we feel every detail was a success. We were most proud of how the final project ended up looking. It was an amazing feeling of putting what we had worked hard on out to the public. We hope to continue this awareness project in the future by creating more articles and newsletters on the problem of racism.
