Maumee Ohio Traffic Selection Process
Receiving a citation for breaking an Ohio traffic law can be disturbing, but receiving a guilty
charge can be devastating. The state of Ohio is strict when it comes to ensuring that its drivers
follow traffic laws perfectly. A Toledo OH driver stands to face several consequences if a judge
finds that person guilty of breaking trafficlaws. The monetary fine is only part of the penalty. The
driver may receive points on his or her license for the violation, and the points may affect that
person s life in an adverse manner. For example, an employer may turn down a job applicant for a
drivingposition if that person has too many points on the license. The person s automobileinsurance
rates may skyrocket, as well.
Examples of Maumee, Ohio Traffic Offenses
The state of Ohio has an extensive list of traffic crimes for which a driver can commit and receive
a citation. Some of the highest point oriented charges are:
Operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol 6 points
Drag racing 6 points
Reckless operation 4 points
Driving without owner consent 6 points

The officer asks for the person s driving credentials and then enlightens that person as to what he
or she did wrong to receive the ticket. The officer will assign a court date, and the person can
appear to dispute the ticket. Otherwise, the driver can visit the county website and pay the ticket
online. Toledo has a Parksmart system that a driver can use to pay a ticket. However, paying a
ticket is an admission of guilt for a traffic violation. The state will assign any points that may apply
to the offense, and those points will remain on the driver s record for several

Kantorek s All Quiet On The Western Front
The book, All Quiet on the Western Front, was narrated by a 19 year old German soldier who
fights at the French front with his comrades. The soldier s name was Paul and throughout the
story, Paul mentions the horrible and terrible things he and his friends had to live throughout the
war on the front. Most of his friends are the same age as him and are from the same school Paul
went to and they all voluntarily joined the army after being influenced by their teacher, Kantorek,
by listening to his speeches. They later realize that the speeches Kantorek said were meaningless
and did not believe that being in the war or that the war itself at all was honorable or glorious, it
was just a brutal battlefield that brought physical and constant terror.... Show more content on

Before Kemmerich dies, he asks Paul to give his boots to Muller knowing that it would be no
use to him after he dies and that it would be better off with Muller then thrown away. The story
goes on with Paul and his friends struggling to survive with small portions of food and the never
ending war continuing on the front. Paul and his friends survive many attacks and bombardments
learning and understanding different weapons the enemy is using and the different noises or
sound that can help them understand where a shell is hitting or where a gas grenade might have
been thrown. Paul also watches unexperienced rookies who gets taken over by the terror of the
war and also watches them fall one by one. Soon, Paul receives seventeen days to go back home
and realizes that his mother has cancer. He also feels different and realizes that he might never be
the same person as he was before he joined the war. At his time at his hometown, he visits
Kemmerich s mother and does not tell her the truth about how her son really died. Instead of stating
the truth, he tells her that her son died an instant and painful

Effects Of Economics On Political Change
The findings of this study leads to puzzling discoveries. Moving forward, researchers should look at
effects of economics on political change in the South at a local level as well as at the state level.
While the findings suggest a decline in agriculture affected party strength, the more general
question about economic change affecting party strength/partisanship needs further exploration.
There were more economic changes occurring in the South besides agricultural decline. The South
also experienced increases in its manufacturing, government and services sectors during the time
under study. Under the current hypothesis as a community becomes less agricultural, people most
people made more money and became more susceptible economic... Show more content on

A mixed methods approach seems on the outset to be most appropriate for this future research,
because it allows for interviews with local party leaders to guide the statistical analyses. Also,
most people consider themselves citizens of a community more than they consider themselves
citizens of a state. Thus, individuals should be better able to notice the economic change on a
community level instead of a state level. The closest data that is publically available for
community data is at the county or municipal level. One particular problem with doing research
at the county level is that not all data one would want is available at that level. Missing data was
a particularly troublesome problem for the present analysis but there are some possibilities to
provide a statistical fix to that problem. Some of these issues may be solved using multilevel
modeling to generate point estimates from large national polls, however, a statistical fix does not
cure the absence of data. One of the interesting findings of this project concerned the effects of
turnout on changes in party strength. There seem to be several ways forward here. One can
expand the study and see if changes in turnout also drove changes outside of the South. This seems
unlikely, however, because the South had such anemic turnout at the start of the period under
study while the rest of the nation did not. There are other ways to address this as well. For
example, I could look at cohorts of first time voters

The Success Of Any Business
The success of any business can be traced back to management. For this reason, managers need to
be able to adapt to and address the changing needs of not only their customs, but even more
importantly, their employees. Change is always occurring, and the manner in which an employee s
needs are attended to in present day society, is rather different from that of 100 years ago. The
development from the 19th and early 20th century managementstrategies, to the current
management understanding, was not a change that occurred overnight. It was a gradual movement
from the earliest management philosophy, the Classical Perspective, to the Scientific Management
Approach, to today s Humanistic Perspective. Developed in the 19th century, the Classical
Perspective addressed the issue of maximizing efficiency. Historically, during this time period, a
majority of people in the workforce were immigrants with no previous training or knowledge of the
jobs they were set to perform. Thus, managers were burdened with the task of converting these
unskilled workers into employees who performed their jobs correctly and in a timely manner,
despite cultural barriers, in attempt to turn businesses into efficient operating machines. The
problems in industry during this time, such as managing huge unskilled labor forces in factories,
dealing with complex production systems, and managing an expansive manufacturing operation,
were the sole focus of the Classical Perspective. This perspective did not

The Absolute Monarchy And The Third Estate
Under the absolute monarchy during the eighteenth century, there was a divide between the three
estates with the Third Estate, which encompassed subjects with no formal title, being the outcast.
The nobility and the clergy formed a cohesive unit that agreed on each other s needs, leaving the
working men and women of the Third Estate to fend for themselves, which was a leading factor to
the split between the Estates. Despite the famine and hunger that had affected some of the Third
Estate, the aristocracy was still hosting lavish dinners. Even though this method was beneficial for
the First and Second Estates, the substantial population that identified as the Third Estate, left in a
formidable position, struggled to correct this situation.

How Far Do You Agree That Trotskyв
Ђ™s Leadership of the Red...
How far do you agree that Trotsky s leadership of the Red Army was responsible for the survival of
the Bolshevik government? (30 marks)
There were many factors that contributed to the survival of the Bolshevik Government, ranging
from Trotsky s leadership of the Red Army to the failings of the Bolsheviks rivals for power. This
essay shows that the main reason for the Bolsheviks continued survival through the period was not
Trotsky s great leadership of the Red Army, but the opposition s mistakes and failings. This will be
demonstrated by analysing the key factors leading to the survival of the Bolshevik Government:
Trotsky s leadership; Lenin s leadership; The Bolsheviks geographical advantage; and finally the
Bolsheviks enemies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Much of the strategy employed by Trotsky and his generals was designed to weaken the enemies
transport system so that they could not effectively organise and coordinate troop movements.
Therefore many battles took place near sections of train track and stations, which crippled many
enemy attacks and allowed the Bolsheviks to crush each attack and then move on, rather than
fighting on several fronts. This great strategy employed by Trotsky helped the Bolshevik
Government survive, and without Trotsky and his control of the Red Army, the Bolshevik
Government would most likely not have survived.
A further factor that contributed to the survival of the Bolshevik Government was Lenin s great
leadership of the whole Bolshevik party. At first glance, it appears as though Lenin played only a
small role during the Civil War because he remained in Moscow throughout, however, when
looked at more closely it can be seen that Lenin was a key decision maker. Lenin forced through
the Treaty of Brest Litovsk when many opposed it; he did this because he had promised peace to
the public and he needed their support to have any chance of winning the Civil War, and therefore
helping the Bolshevik Government survive.
Lenin also instigated the policy of War Communism, in which industry was

Charles Orzech Saving The Burning Mouth Hungry Ghost Analysis
I will prove that this article by Charles Orzech called Saving the Burning Mouth Hungry Ghost
argues that that the divinest of Buddha s prior presence of being a Brahmin made him

The Buddha s Discourse on the Scripture of the Spell for Saving the Burning Mouth Hungry Ghost
is one of the three key texts in the development of Buddhist performances held during the Ghost
Festival of the seventh month of the Chinese lunar calendar. This celebration is moulded by a
Buddhist practice and is consider the second most important festival of the year for the Chinese
people. The Chinese people have practiced this tradition since the Liang Dynasty but since then it
has developed into the existing Zhongyuan Festival. This celebration began with a story that will
be explained below, this event become so special because it helped Chinese people escape their
suffering and hungry that they would experience after they die by doing certain practice and chants
to satisfy the hungry ghost.
This story starts off during the World Honored One when Ananda was alone at the Banyan
Monastery located in Kapilavasttu. When Ananda was sitting their examining the teaching he had
been given earlier, while sitting their he saw a horrendous ghost which Charles Orzech describes
to be like shown as his mouth burning and his throat looking like a needle, the ghost hair was seen

The US Constitution on Privacy Rights
I. Introduction
The U.S. constitution contains no expression of valued rights in considering privacy. Therefore, the
Supreme Court has adopted a rather narrow interpretation of the Fourteenth Amendment
specifically in regards to the term liberty, as established in the due process clause . Earlier Supreme
Court decisions were not concerned with how states constituted their residents. Thus, any state, at
this time, was at the liberty to deprive its residents of their first amendment, freedom of speech,
religion, and press. However, this is much leniency and room for interpretation in the Due Process
Clause, because it may be stretched to constitute not only at federal level but the state level.
Reinterpretation under the 14th amendment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Basically, a state choosing to regulate health services, such as contraceptives, by prohibiting the
uses and deem them as crimes, if used, rather than focusing on the sales and manufacturing, is
clearly an unfavorable effect towards a marital relationship.
III. The Right to Abortion
The Griswold v. Connecticut is greatly remarkable and struck controversy in the hearts of many.
Thus, in relation to the Griswold v. Connecticut case is yet another controversial case decided
seven years later, Roe v. Wade(1973). This case serves as a landmark case involving the issue of
privacy under the due process clause, however consisted of moderately different facts compared to
the Griswold v. Connecticut case, in that a pregnant woman brought to Court, in the state of Texas,
the proscribing dispute to terminate a pregnancy, which under Texas law abortion subsisted as a
criminal statute. The rather surprising aspect of this case was the Courts ruled it as constitutional.
The Supreme Court ruled, in a 7 2 vote, that the rights of a woman to decide whether or not to
become a mother is a right to privacy, which is protected under the Fourteenth Amendment.
Individual freedom is crucial in this case in that a mother should have the decision to abort a
pregnancy. In the majority opinion, provided by Justice

Analysis Of FIFA 18
Last year, FIFA 17 was the best selling game on the PlayStation 4 with over 10 million units sold
worldwide. Not only did it perform exceptionally well on the PlayStation, across all platforms, only
Pokemon Sun/Moon on the 3DS sold more copies.
Without doubt, the FIFA franchise is huge and while EA Sportsknow that they re likely to top the
sales charts each year, I m happy to report that with FIFA 18, they are not resting on their laurels.
Thanks to subtle improvements to the gameplay, as well as new features in the Career Mode , this
year s FIFA is EA s most complete entry in the series to date.

derby, as you take control of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This attention to detail also stretches to certain players. While it would be impossible to
uniquely program thousands of footballers individually, the bigger name, as well as some lesser
known players, have their own unique style of play. Of course, Ronaldo and Messi play like their
real life counterparts but it s refreshing to see someone like Matt Ritchie behave in a similar
fashion to real life.
Although not a bad thing, the differences between FIFA s 17 and 18 regarding AI behaviour
adapting during a match is less noticeable. Games are slow and play out similarly to FIFA 17,
with an emphasis on possession being the key to unlock defences. However, one welcome change
I found is how teams react to falling a goal or two behind.
One gripe I have of FIFA games is how the AI responds to conceding early on. Teams tend to go
kamikaze, prematurely piling men forward leaving gaps in defence. This behaviour is common at
the latter stages of a real match but not early on. With FIFA 18, teams do seem less partial to keep
throwing men forward nonsensically when falling behind, now only doing so when time is running
out or the possibility of a comeback is likely.
The quick substitution feature is a welcome addition. Quite simply, as a match nears its conclusion,
pressing the R2 button brings up a small box where you can substitute a tiring player with a
positional like for like replacement instead of pausing

Stereotypes In High School
High school is full of a variety of types of people, who can all be labeled into certain groups or
stereotypes. High school can be an amazing time for people, just as easily as it could be a terrible
time for people. It s quite odd how everyone goes to the same school, and mostly attend the same
courses, yet they are significantly different from one another. Every school has the classic jocks,
nerds, partiers/stoners, etc., but it appears our generation has created several new stereotypes. With
students spending approximately 35 hours a week at school, it is easy for one another to label each
other, and determine who they fit in with.
The most common stereotype in Spring Lake is the Preppy Rich Kid. The Preppy part of these
kids is that they love to wear a perfectly matching outfit; including their colorful Polo Shirts/t
shirts, colorful short shorts, matching socks, with a matching pair of boat shoes/skate shoes.
The Rich part of these kids is that they live in a big house on the water, their parents have high
paying jobs, and their parents will buy them whatever they desire. These kids typically drive an
expensive foreign car, usually blaring rap music out of their car s subwoofer everyday to school.
Once they have arrived at school, most of them have a very enjoyable day. For the most part, they
have a perfect life, including getting all the girls/boys, receiving good grades, being attractive, and
being a phenomenal athlete. These kids are likable people, and

Geico s Advertisement Is The Second Largest And One Of...
GEICO s advertisement located in Men s Health November 2016 issue targets car owners through
the use of several tactics such as segmented targeting, hooking the audience, and appealing to the
audience while prying for consumers to make the simple choice; to chose GEICO over their
competitors. GEICO is the second largest and one of the fastest growing private auto insuring
companies in the United States (GEICO, 2016). The target audience is reached through the
imagery of a stack of cookies to correlate the greed and desire received from the food into the
experience provided by insuring your car through GEICO. Additionally, GEICO strives to target
customers through attempting to cater to their needs with the intended end goal of persuading them
to choose GEICO over the other guy .
Through the use of differentiated segmentation as a marketing method, GEICO has revised the
promotional means of their ad to specifically gender target their consumers by altering the food
item presented within the ad. While conducting a multi data analysis, GEICO s segmented ad
was located in three magazines; two targeted towards a male audience as seen in Men s Health
and GQ, while one magazine, Glamour, was aimed to reach women. The ad in Men s Health and
GQ contained identical information but with altered food objects; where GQ presented a pile of
chicken wings, Men s Health sported a stack of cookies. However, while analyzing the ad located
in Glamour, the information is once again mirrored,

Byzantine Empire Dbq Analysis
Another way the crusades led to the fall of the Byzantine Empire was the presence of weak
leadership. For instance, Emperor Alexius is anxious to gain loyalty and strength because his
empire is weaker internally; therefore he forces loyalty oaths. Alexius s need to make other
leaders take an oath proves he was not a strong enough leader to deserve the respect of the
people, therefore resulting in the people revolting, causing everlasting internal damage (Doc 2.) A

Arson Is a Seirous Problem in the United States
Arson is a serious problem in the United States, being the number one cause of all fires, the

The primary concern about fires set in churches is that they have been racially motivated. Of
230 church burnings in 1994 41% targeted black churches and 59% targeted white churches. In
over 100 arrests, racial hatred was found to be a main motive for arson. Of those arrested 66%
where white and 34% were black. In 1996 the problem of church arson increased sharply. As a
result president Clinton formed the National Church Arson Task Force (NCATF), to coordinate the
efforts of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies. Congress also then passed the Church
Arson Prevention Act (CAPA), which expanded the options available to prosecutors when dealing
with malicious acts aimed at houses of worship, since NCATF was passed the incidence of arson at
houses of worship declined steadily.
The most common motives for arson have been found to be: vandalism, excitement/attention
seeking, revenge/spite, crime concealment, economic reasons, extremist/terrorism, and people with
mental problems. Crime concealment is when arson is used to conceal another crime such as
murder, burglary, or vehicle theft. There are some people that have been found to have an
irresistible impulse to set fires. Economic Reasons may consist of insurance fraud, debt removal,
direct monetary gain, elimination of unwanted ownership, and arson for profit. The profit may

There s a thin line between entertaining your audience with a gambling demo, and boring them into
abysmal submission. Personally, I ve always found that when the magician continually wins, the
audience gets tired quickly. Let s face it; no one likes losing! It s human nature.
Therefore, this routine is designed to make your audience believe like they can win every time, no
matter which game you play. Furthermore, the power of this routine is not about the astronomical
odds of receiving a winning hand in a called upon position like so many gambling demos. More
important, it s about empowering someone in your audience with the genuine feeling of having a

Humanity is Destined to be Maple
I.Introduction
A.First paragraph of introduction
1.Young Goodman Brown is a dark romantic short story written by Nathaniel Hawthorne originally
published in 1835.
2.Set in 17th century New England, Hawthorne utilizes this short story to convey his distaste for
the Salem Witch Trials and his great grandfather, John Hathorne s participation as a judge. In
addition, he demonstrates the Puritan idea that all humans are in a state of corruption until you
have experienced a conversion, only sanctioned by God to become part of the elite .
3.It begins in Salem, Massachusetts when young Goodman Brown leaves his wife, Faith, for an
errand in the forest. It is later revealed that this errand is an attempt to seek a conversion in the
forest with the Devil. While on the journey, he learns some disturbing things about his ancestors
that they too have walked the same walk in the forest with the Devil and not only his ancestors
but people of authority and people in the town. Realizing that Faith and himself are the only two
not yet initiated, he looks to heaven and the hell he was in vanishes, leaving him back in the forest
not knowing whether it was a dream or reality. He returns to Salem the next day with a belief that
his Christian village and all of humanity is perverted and so he died a bitter and distrustful man
with no hope.

There has been evidence entered into multiple court cases that attempts to prove that video games
cause violent behavior, however; the studies provided have failed to stand up to the scrutiny of the
court. Carmen Hoyme s (2004) studies of the court cases attempted to prove that there was a link
between violent video games ,and violent actions performed by players. The studies did not provide
enough evidence to make such a conclusion (Hoyme, 2004). Robert Wood (2009), Assistant
Professor of Criminal Justice and Legal Studies, University of Central Florida, wrote that within the
court case Entertainment Software Association v. Blagojevich the author of the study linking
games to behavior admitted under oath that there was not enough empirical evidence and the
conclusion was largely a matter of his own choice . Jeffery O Holleran (2010) writing in the Journal
on Telecommunications and High Technology Law, mentions that the evidence of violent video
games causing harm is merely a correlation (pg. 602). Because a link cannot be established, there is
not proof of incitement. Without the link, making restrictions on minors rights to the expressions is
unconstitutional.

increase understanding and reduce tensions and conflict. Progressive in nature, they support the
engaging of people of diverse cultures and faiths in an attempt to recognize common humanity
(Clark, 2007). As a result, Family group conferencing originated in New Zealand in 1989 and
routinely involves victims, offenders, and additional community members (Armour, 2012, p. 26).
Family group conferencing is similar to victim offender mediation in that it also seeks to give
victims the opportunity to express the impact of their crime which occurred to them, to receive
answers, and to have an active role in the process of holding offenders accountable for their
actions (Umbreit Zehr, 1996, p. 24). Unlike victim offender mediation, however, family group
conferencing brings family members, social service professionals, law enforcement (if needed),
community members, and any other stakeholder necessary to address the problem (Beck et. al,
2015, p. 222). By acknowledging a wider range of people as victims of an offense, family group
conferencing contributes to the overall healing of the community.
With its focus on solutions, family group conferencing is most often used in situations involving
the welfare of children. As it relates to the previous mentioned standpoint theory, this approach is
advantageous in helping with the needs of women in regard to

Christianity In America Research Paper
I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it
stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Those are the words
that are said every day by students from elementary school to high school. But these words are
unfair to many in America who either do not believe in God or, even if they do, desire a clear
separation between church and state. This author will argue that the phrase Under God does not
belong in the Pledge of Allegianceof the United Statesof America.
Some people claim that this is a Christian nation. However, Christianity is not the official religion in
America, even though it may be the most popular. Although 71% of America are Christian, the
other 29% is forced to pledge ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
God is a part of American culture? That seems unfair to believers in other parts of the world, and
Religion is only a significant part of everyday life if you believe. This isn t to say that
Christianity is bad, just that non theistic people are not treated fairly. Tradition is important, but
sometimes tradition should be forgotten. Around that time religion has played a significant role
in the founding of America, and even the world. For example: In God we Trust or God Bless
America, or even saying Oh my God. There is no denying that God and religion has played a
large role in the formation of America. Even still, that was back when Christianity was the only
thing that people knew. In God we Trust was put on coins in 1864, and God Bless America was
written in 1918, and Oh my God was used in a letter to Winston Churchill in 1917. That was the
past, when there was so much oppression and hate in America. This could be one of the next steps
toward a better and more accepting America. Kids going to public school have the right to their
own beliefs, and they shouldn t have to pledge to something they don t believe

The Importance Of Globalization In The World
Globalization seems to be highlighted only in its best or its worst times, the world s teleological
swing from connection to division. Yet we seem to be blind to the inclines and down falls. We
recognize innovation once it is complete, not while it is evolving, or we mourn over devastation
when the signs it was coming were there all along. As our society cycles through these peaks and
valleys we need to remember that ancient globalized societies rose and fell many times over.
Although or world changes and so does our definition of globalization we are still able to show
parallels of modern globalization in historical times. One amazing feat for globalization was the
astrolabe, it became a widely sought after tool in the mid 14th century. This demand for the tool
came about after Islamic peoples used it to find Mecca. Islamic, Jewish and Christian thinkers
revamped the astrolabe during a scientific revitalization. The tool shows many attributes from
each group: Arabic, old Spanish and Hebrew language was found on the astrolabe pictured in
MacGregor s writing Hebrew Astrolabe. The astrolabe does much more than tell your position it
can be used to find Mecca, tell time, survey and even find a person s horoscope. MacGregor goes
on to say that any explorer wanting to be taken seriously had to be well versed with this tool.
Although with a superb navigation tool comes drawbacks, such as who uses the tool and the places
that the tool takes them. Columbus happened to be one of these people, he used the astrolabe and
other tools to sail across the Atlantic and discover islands in the Caribbean. Columbus was lucky to
have a sort of perfect storm of new knowledge to help him cross the ocean. The introduction and
perfection of the cog ship allowed him to brave the open waters of the Atlantic. He also utilized
the discovery and knowledge of a Portuguese man named, Gil Eanns, who discovered and
documented the Volta Domar Largo, a method of sailing further out to sea to find a current to
push a ship back to where it came from. Once these Caribbean islands were discovered Columbus
took to conquering them all. After disease wiped out most of the native peoples the rest were
enslaved and their lands marginalized by Columbus

Han and Roman Views on Technology
Han and Roman Views on Technology
The Hans and Romans understood the importance of technology, but unlike the Hans, the Romans
viewed anyone who worked with tools or with their hands to be a person of lowly status. The
Romans only showed appreciation for technologies that could hold some benefit for the upper
class. The upper class Romans thought that craftsmen, people who made a living out of making
tools, was hardly an occupation that deserved any respect. The Hans appreciated the use of tools in
their labor and how it could help the people. The Hans showed a great appreciation of their
technological advancements, and its effect on society.

All the previous documents used above were all in the perspective of an upper class citizen. An

INTRODUCTION
The Vedic periodalso referred to as the vedic age was that period in the Indian History during
which the Vedas, the oldest scriptures of Hinduism were composed. The Indo Aryans, settled in
North India were very closely related to the Vedic Age and its inception. They played a key role
in bringing in specific religious traditions and customs which is commonly referred to as the Vedic
Civilization. In the civilizations early days, it was a tribal and pastoral society based in the
northwestern parts of the Indian Subcontinent. It spread to the Ganges Plain after 1200 BCE
shaped by the increasing settled agriculture, a hierarchy of four social classes and the unfolding of
monarchial, state level polities.

The Rage Against Trade
This opinion piece written by the New York Times editorial board analyzes the two major
presidential candidates positions on international trade deals, primarily President elect Donald
Trump s proposed isolationist policies. The article examines the increasingly common perception
among the American public that trade agreements such as NAFTA and the TPP are responsible
for causing economic hardships due to prioritizing global interests over American interests. The
writers of this article oppose this view and present evidence to refute it. The authors have a liberal
viewpoint on this issue and are pro free trade, however they do concede that there are certain issues
that need to be resolved as a result of these trade agreements. They disagree with Trump, viewing
his statements as nothing more than hot air . The article sets out to dispel some common myths
about international free trade deals and also takes a look at the development of the anti free trade
sentiment in the United States over the years. Clinton currently opposes the TPP, however in the
past she has praised it and called it the gold standard of international trade deals (Memoli). She
seems to have shifted her views during the Democratic primaries against Bernie Sanders, who
opposed the TPP his entire campaign, putting into question her true viewpoint. Meanwhile, Trump
has consistently railed against international trade deals since the 1980s, when he criticized the US

In court, I observed an arraignment. An arraignment is an appearance in court to hear the charges
and to make a plea. Before they appeared at their arraignment they were supposed to go through the
steps of the criminal justice system. First, there was an investigation, an arrest, and booking. If the
suspect was a juvenile, they would go into the juvenile justice system. Next is the prosecution;
charging, initial appearance, preliminary hearing, and indictment or information. During charging,
the prosecution attorneys are the link between police and the court; they must decide if there is
reasonable cause to believe an offense was committed, they either are released or have an initial
appearance. At the initial appearance, they are brought before a judge, given a formal notice of
charges, advised of their rights, and given a chance to post bail. If not enough evidence has been

preliminary hearing. The preliminary hearing allows a judge to decide whether there is probable

Maternal Mortality And Death Of A Pregnant Woman Essay
Introduction
Maternal mortality/death is defined as the death of a pregnant woman by causes related to the
pregnancy or its management, or death of a post partum mother within 42 days after pregnancy
termination (Requejo, Bryce, Victora, Deixel, 2013; Ronsmans, Graham, group, 2006; Say et al.,
2014). There are proposals to change this definition to make it include one year post partum death
of mothers, as the risk of death has been shown to remain high half a year post partum (Ronsmans
et al., 2006). Many maternal deaths that occur usually occur in low and middle income countries. In
the year 2010, 287, 000 maternal deaths that were avoidable occurred, and most occurred in these
developing countries. Reduction of maternal deaths has been one of the outcomes that have been
targeted in the efforts to improve maternal health for the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)
(Say et al., 2014). In developing countries, especially Sub Saharan Africa, where fertility levels
remain high, maternal deaths have continued to be high despite the general deaths reduction
(Requejo et al., 2013). Many argue that there is not enough information to confidently describe and
quantify this problem, but Requejo et al., 2013 reported that the available information is sufficient.
The social issues
The causes of maternal deaths are both direct and indirect. Majorly, the causes of maternal death are
usually the aftermath of childbirth and pregnancy, and are majorly contributed to by diseases and

Second, the writers of the Gospels did not attempt an exhaustive narrative; in other words, Matthew,
Mark, Luke, and John had no intention of telling us every detail of the resurrection or every event

In the battle with skeptics regarding Jesus resurrection, Christians are in a no win situation. If the
resurrection accounts harmonize perfectly, skeptics will claim that the writers of the Gospels
conspired together.
If the resurrection accounts have some differences, skeptics will claim that the Gospels contradict

persuasive that for men like Knox, a woman ruler was almost a contradiction in terms (

As a leader and decider of many people, she had to uphold a brave and confident stance to allow

Four Categories Of Love
George Sand claimed that, there is only one happiness in this life, to love and be loved. Humans
as a species crave interaction and have a longing for love. Love a person feels can be the driving
force for their actions, causing people to commit inappropriate actions and have unthinkable
thoughts. However, it can also cause eternal happiness and happy endings. At a philosophic
standpoint there are four different categories for love: Philia, Storge, Agape, and Eros. Philia is
often translated to mean brotherly love or friendship. This can be the love a person feels for
their friends, neighbors, co workers, and the people in their lives below their family. When
people consider others to be friends it is often because they have shared interest or hobbies.
Friends are people that a person can confide with and feel safe with. A person wants to have this
feeling with someone and because of that this type of love can drive a person to actions they
would not normally do. It is because of the connection they feel towards that person and the
closeness they feel. It might be a shared event or story. Banana Yoshimoto wrote a novel titled,
Kitchen, that involves a man and woman falling in love after a shared experience. When Yuichi
s classmate came to confront Mikage about her relationship with Yuichi she claimed that, But
love is not a joke, it also means sharing someone else s pain (Yoshimoto 72). What the troubled,
jealous girl was saying is that loving someone involves sharing connections with a person. In this
case Mikage and Yuichi shared the pain of the lose of two loved ones. Together they were able to
feel each other s pain which caused their love to grow closer as the connections deepened.
Yoshimoto continued the book by adding a second part to the novel that was a story all on its
own. In this part of the story a young woman loses the love of her life, Hitoshi. She fell into
despair and pain. At the same time as she was struggling with the lose of her best friend, another
young man was losing the love of his life. Together they created ritual to honor their loved ones
without knowing the other existed. When they eventually met they made the connection of death.

the discomfort (Exploring Biology in the Laboratory). Tums and Alka Seltzer are two popular

The Chevrolet Volt and Cruze are approximately the same size.
The Volt has a buy in of approximately $40,000. The Cruze starts at $18,000.
If you include the available $7,500 tax credit for buying the Volt, that cost comes down to $32,500.
Is the Volt worth the $14,000 premium over the Cruze, a car which already gets phenomenal city

being, particularly Jewish, can live or even exist. For a long time, the Jews view on the sanctity of
life, a duty to protect one s life, encouraged them to endure the period of intense pain and suffering.

Therefore, the external and internal conditions of the ghettos and concentration camps made it
extremely challenging for Jewish resistance. Despite these horrific conditions, the creation of a
Jewish military organization, fighting in Partisans bands, the death camp revolts, and the
ghetto uprisings negate the argument that the Jews of Europe of were passive before the
darkest period in modern history, the Jewish genocide. As a whole, the Jews did not accept their
death mutely, as sheep to the slaughter. Firstly, the Jews in Europe organized a Jewish military
league to resist the Nazi brutality. In Vilna, the first organized Jewish armed resistance arose
from the youth movements. After the invasion of the Soviet Union is 1941, two thirds of the
Jewish population of Vilna were deported by the Nazis ( Jewish Combat Organization. ). Those
who survived warned the other Jews of the ordeal awaiting them, which paved the way for the
First Manifesto . This document called out for Jewish resistance and was written by Abba
Kovner, a future leader of the ghetto fighters in Vilna. The manifesto was directed at the Jews of
Vilna and the youth movements, and explained the fate of the ghetto deportees (that they were all
killed), Hitler s plot to destroy all the Jews of Europe , and called for Jewish resistance. This
manifesto was significant, as it was the first call for the Jews to arm themselves and resist the
Nazis. Not soon after,

Jean Kilbourne Two Ways A Woman Can Get Hurt Analysis
For many years now, the primary medium for advertisements has been television. A majority of
society has access to a TV, and because of this reality, producers promote their products via this
media outlet. However, are these companies just trying to sell their products? or they also
advocate their personal agendas upon the masses. Throughout history, the various media channels
have influenced society to believe or accept twisted fallacies. For instance, we assume that crime
and violence are running rampant because the News primarily covers violent and criminal
activities. However, the reality is crime and violence has been on a steep decline since the 1990 s.
Still, the optimal way these shows receive good ratings and views is through headlining... Show

the author, Jean Kilbourne, EdD, states that, Sex in advertising is pornographic because it
dehumanizes and objectifies people, especially women, and because it fetisheizes products,
imbues them with an erotic charge... (491). Kilbourne also believes the sexualization of ads
promotes violence against women; she presents the example of an Italian Vogue ad, which
displayed a man pointing a gun at a naked woman wrapped in plastic, and a purse covering her
face (497). I believe if Kilbourne were to view and respond to the Victoria s Secret, she might say
the commercial, demoralizes and objectifies women, focus heavily on sexual intimacy rather than
emotional, and promotes a sense violence against women. Additionally, in the essay, From
Multicultural Barbie and the Merchandising of Difference, the author, Ann DuCille, a former chair
and director of the center for African American Studies at Wesleyan University, discussed that the
multicultural Barbie, though created to encourage diversity and racial awareness of other cultures
and ethnicities, it promotes racism by excluding true cultural and ethnic characteristics from each
multicultural Barbie (859). She further explains that doll advocates an ideal body image of,
mythically thin, long legged, luxuriously haired, buxom beauty... which in turn might result in
younger girls trying to mimic the Barbie lifestyle or image rather than, being at peace with their
own self. Not to mention the fact the multicultural Barbies are simply white dolls with different
shades of color, and exclude cultural character traits (861). I believe if DuCille saw the Victoria s
Secret ad, she would feel the ad excludes a good representation of all ethnicities, because
throughout the entire advertisement there was only one African American model, but she was only
shown for a mere two seconds. And DuCille might feel the perfect , tall, petite, and caucasian
females encourage a practicable standard for

My Experience With Mental Illness
Growing up, I experienced a wide variety of mental illnesses within my family. In my younger
years, I always wondered why my family had so many issues different from most families (or so I
thought). As I have gotten older, had my own experiences, had friends with mental illnesses and
learned more about the brain in my General Psychologyclass; it actually began to amaze me more
people do not experience mental illness because of how complex the brain is. I attribute my
curiosity in Psychology to my own experiences with mental illness and with the experience of my
family members and friends.
Initially, my mother told me about my great grandmother (Alta). Alta experienced paranoid
schizophrenia and often struggled to take her medications. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Secondly, my father s cousin Tim struggled with depression and eventually took a shotgun to his
head in his parent s basement after calling his loved ones to say goodbye. My father s sister,
Laura, battled anorexia nervosa during high school and was eventually hospitalized. Lastly,
three years ago on thanksgiving, my former soccer teammate and neighbor, Kelsey, overdosed
on heroin in her basement. Later on it came out that she had experienced a personality disorder.
To this day, I have no idea which personality disorder she had, but most rumors said it was multi
personality disorder. After Kelsey passed away, my interest in mental disorder and personality
disorders grew. With that being said, I was thrilled to be assigned the reading of Kay Redfield
Jamison s experience with manic depressive in her book An Unquiet Mind.
Kay Redfield Jamison s prologue opens with Jamison not wanting to hide her manic depressive
illness anymore and taking ownership in her experiences and making them a beautiful part of her
life. I think this is courageous and hope that more and more people follow in her footsteps. I feel
with more people talking about their mental illness, the stigma against them would have to
deteriorate.
After reading the prologue, she reorganizes and begins telling her story in chronological order. For
example, she takes us through her childhood and what it was like living in military bases and
having a pilot for a

Atticus Finch Social Class
Social class differentiations show themselves throughout Harper Lee s classic Southern drama To
Kill a Mockingbird. Yet still people find themselves asking: Why is the caste system so prevalent in
Maycomb, Alabama? After all, the division of the classes continues as an important issue in our
lives today. From the mistreatment of the Untouchables in modern day India to the mistreatment of
Helen Robinson by the Ewell family, individuals want answers on why some humans think that they
should receive elevated status among others. The reason is that people willingly discard all
common sense to reach a conclusion that they think sounds right to them. This social hierarchy
appears in the Finch, Cunningham, and Ewell families. The Finches are a respected family near
the top of the social food chain in Maycomb. Despite the fact that they have many things compared
to many other people in their hometown, Atticus considers them poor. Are we poor, Atticus?
Atticus nodded. We are indeed (21). This may be because, though they are not as poor as the
Cunninghams, Atticus is attempting to blend the social classes together, and trying to make it less
of a big deal. This shows that the Finches are not the kind of people who exalt themselves above
others, even though they may hold a higher... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Nationalism s Role In World War I
Nationalism is the strong belief that the interests of a particular nation state is of primary
importance. It also is the belief that a people who share a common language, history, and culture
should have an independent nation. Nationalism is shown in many ways throughout World War I,
the Interwar Years, and World War II. It is shown in nationalists groups such as the KMT, through
new ideas such as Nazism or Fascism, and during events that happen during wars and revolutions,
such as the Salt March. Nationalism s role is important in all of these wars and revolutions because
without Nationalism, history would be very different. Nationalism has a big impact on World War

During the Interwar years, nationalism effected revolutions and the decisions that governments or
political groups make. The Russians show nationalism by eliminating anyone who doesn t follow
communism. Stalin waged war ... on those designated as kulaks (Goff 151)because he wanted to
unify the people who agreed with his ideas of communism. This affects the communists rise to
power during the Russian revolution because the communists are trying to unite the Russians under
one government. The Kuomintang, also known as the KMT, were a nationalist party in China
during the interwar years who opposed the CCP, the Chinese Communist Party. The reason that this
group was nationalist is because Sun Yat sen, the leader of the KMT, wanted to unite the people of
China under a republic. Nationalism played a big role in forming the revolution in China.
Nationalism is also shown by the Indian people during the Salt March. The Indian people decided to
have this march to show their independence. This is an example of nationalism because the Indian
people are uniting to show their independence and get rid of the British. Nationalism effected the

The Effect Of Switching Frequency On Switching
Fig. 10 compares the switching instances between (i) CSFSVPWM and VSFSVPWM, and (ii)
CSFDPWM2 and VSFDPWM2. It also shows the shape of the switching frequency variation for
each sector. The following can be noted:
The VSFSVPWM reduces 3 switching instances per cycle compared to CSFSVPWM, a 13.6 %
reduction.
The VSFDPWM reduces 2 switching instance per cycle compared to CSFDPWM, a 12.5%
reduction.
Hence, the proposed variable switching frequency PWM reduces the switching instances within a
fundamental cycle by lowering the effective switching frequency, while maintaining the output
current ripple within a pre defined range.
To study the impact of VSFPWM on switching loss reduction over the entire modulation index
range, the simulations were carried out different speeds (modulation indices) for a constant load
torque. Table II and Table III compares the current ripple, and the percentage change in the current
distortion and the switching losses for CSFSVPWM VSFSVPWM and CSFDPWM2 VSFDPWM2
techniques respectively. Similar to the analytical results at section II, there is higher switching loss
reduction capability at higher speed due to higher variation in current ripple at higher speeds
(modulation indices). For example, with VSFSVPWM, around 15% switching loss reduction is
obtained, whereas with VSFDPWM2, around 7.2% switching loss reduction is obtained. The
difference in switching loss reduction capability in comparison to analytical results is attributed to

She’s Come Undone by Wally Lamb Essay
Before taking this course, I always looked at films and read books just as the average person
does; interesting plot and how long will it hold my interest, but this course gave me an entire
different perspective when watching films and reading books. Now that I have taken this course
and have watched the required films, the most important thing when watching other movies and
reading books, is the meaning behind each scene and how they relate and affect our world. For
this paper, I will discuss a book that I read a long time ago, which is She s Come Undone by
Wally Lamb and how this book relates to this course. She s Come Undone is a story about a girl
named Dolores Price. In this book, the author takes you through Dolores life, starting... Show more

In this particular film Harold was very interested in death, and because of this he attempted many
fake suicide attempts as a cry for help and attention. When Harold meets a woman named Maude,
she teaches him many life lessons and the importance of living life to the fullest. In turn Harold
opens up to her about his thoughts and feelings and the two of them become great friends. This
film relates to She s Come Undone because just like Harold, Dolores battled her own issues and
attempted suicide. Both of these characters meet people who help them understand that life is
worth living no matter the struggles or hardships we face. With Harold, there was Maude and
for Dolores, there was Dr. Shaw. Dr. Frost mentioned something in the notes that I believe helped
both of these characters get through there hard times and that is: One of the most powerful and
saving emotions is laughter. It helps keep us healthy both emotionally and physically. We can
literally laugh our way out of illness! During the talks with Maude and the therapy sessions with
Dr. Shaw, both Harold and Dolores were able to laugh through their troubles. As I mentioned
before, I really enjoyed this course because it gave me a different perspective on what to look for
when watching films and read books. She s Come Undone was a great book the first time I read it
and even better this time around. This book relates to the other films as well, but the

Upon The Burning Of Our House By Anne Bradstreet
Upon the Burning of Our House, written by Anne Bradstreet, describes a rather sad event in
which her lovely house is burnt to the ground. In her efforts to relay her emotions she utilizes a
variety of literary devices such as vivid imagery, assonance and biblical allusions. The poem
gives description of how she felt during the very event, how she feels as she passes the ruins of
her once erect household and how she came to the realization that she would get through the
experience with God by her side. The poem (as per usual of Anne Bradstreet) employs rhyming
couplets, these were used to apply emphasize on her attachment towards her house but then is later
used to give awareness to the fact that all earthly things pass away leaving nothing

The Role Of Temperance In Jacksonian America
Temperance, the moderation of consumption of alcohol, created conflict between different sets
of ideas and interests because the beginning of American history was heavy with alcohol use.
Alcohol was the meeting point of many. The Marine Corps was started alone in a tavern.
Creating this idea of being more moral because one doesn t drink set people off. As written in our
textbook, one person s sin is another s pleasure or cherished custom (449). The emerging middle
class felt they had more control of themselves because they didn t drink. They brought religion in it
to also make some of the public feel they were sinners for participating in a part of their culture.
One large issue with temperance was the heavy Irish and German immigrants.... Show more content

our country was split in too far of a way and it was going to either be slavery or no slavery to even

Annotated Bibliography On Global Mobility Of Latin America...
A Guide to Global Mobility in Latin America and the United States
Introduction
For multinational organizations the global movement of employees is essential, but companies
today are faced with a maze of legal issues to consider. The following article provides a regional
overview of current trends, key government agencies, and visas for business travel, training and
employment assignments for the United States and certain countries in Latin America, including
Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, and Venezuela.
Immigration laws differ from country to country. Although the specific names for the visas and the
requirements differ, there are common patterns and trends especially for countries balancing the
interest of engaging in global commerce against protecting local labor markets and national security.
Treaties and bi lateral agreements often give special privileges to citizens from specific countries
(e.g., benefits for citizens of Canada, Mexico and the United States under the North American Free
Trade Agreement). Be careful not to overlook these sometimes hidden gems when considering
alternative visa strategies.
Current Trends
It invariably takes longer than expected to secure all of the authorizations required before an
employee can travel abroad for business.
The best laid plans go often awry. Sometimes short term business travel may seem like the only
way to meet an immediate need. But the visas that are quickly available for such trips generally

Euripides Iphigenia Among The Taurians
Regardless of the subject matter of a Greek Tragedy, the plot of the play brings up emotions like
sympathy and dread within the audience. Iphigenia Among the Taurians is a tragedy written by
Euripides in the early 400 s BC that follows the family of Orestes. While Iphigenia Among the
Taurians is considered within the genre of ancient tragedy, the play may not be the first example
someone might conjure up since the main conflict is resolved and the story ends with Iphigenia
and her brother Orestes successfully escaping the barbarians to go home to Greece. However,
despite the non traditional ending of a tragedy, Iphigenia Among the Taurians still manages to be
classified as a tragedy by Aristotle s standards. His definition focuses on the... Show more content

Aristotle also writes that tragedy must seek... cases where the suffering occurs within
relationships, such as brother and brother... when one kills (or is about to kill) the other, or
commits some other such deed. While the reversal and the recognition components cause the
audience fear and anxiety, suffering bring out the emotion of pity in the hearts of the viewers
who are sympathizing with the character. There are several incidences of suffering in the plot.
The most prevalent one, again, is Iphigenia about to kill Orestes. Even the chorus laments this
tragic deed and they cry out I cry for you, for your end marked out, the bloody rain of lustral
water. Orestes replies that his death needs no pity. Although there is no physical suffering, the
audience still feels pity for Orestes because he believes he is about to die, until the recognition
occurred. The next major part of suffering occurs towards the end of the book as Orestes,
Iphigenia, and Pylades attempt to escape the barbaric lands by pretending to do a cleansing ritual. A
fight broke out between the barbarians and the Greeks as they both wanted control over the ship. A
messenger recounts the event for the king, Thoas by stating then taking a stand on the hill we
fought more cautiously and pelted with rocks. But archers

Case Analysis Of The Kraft Heinz Company
The Kraft Heinz Company successfully merged on July 2, 2015 when Heinz owned by Berkshire
Hathaway and 3G Capital teamed up with Kraft Foods Group. The deal is considered one of the
top most mergers in the food and beverage industry worldwide. Currently the company has its
strong presence worldwide. Moreover both 3G Capital a Brazilian Equity Firm and Warren Buffet
together contributed by investing $10 billion in the deal making the company worth about $46
billion.
Earlier Heinz was a leverage buyout in 2013 through 3G Capital by Berkshire Hathaway. On the
other hand Kraft Food Group was formed in October 2012, after a spin off from international snack
food company MondelД“z International (MDLZ).
As per the deal shareholders of Heinz in total will have a 51% stake overall. To neutralise the deal
somewhat in favour of Kraft Foods Co also, Berkshire Hathaway and 3G Capital paid a one time
cash dividend , which meant that one share of Kraft Foods came equal to one share of Kraft Heinz
Company.
Merger proves to be beneficial for both the companies as Heinz 61% sales from outside North
America and on the other hand Kraft Foods sales is covered by 98% from North America for the
revenues in the fiscal year 2014. This gives a big boost for the Kraft Food to enter and tap the

The state of Ohio is strict when it comes to ensuring that its drivers follow traffic laws perfectly. A Toledo OH driver stands to face several consequences if a judge finds that person guilty of breaking trafficlaws. The monetary fine is only part of the penalty. The driver may receive points on his or her license for the violation, and the points may affect that person s life in an adverse manner. For example, an employer may turn down a job applicant for a drivingposition if that person has too many points on the license. The person s automobileinsurance rates may skyrocket, as well. Examples of Maumee, Ohio Traffic Offenses The state of Ohio has an extensive list of traffic crimes for which a driver can commit and receive a citation. • 3. Kantorek s All Quiet On The Western Front The book, All Quiet on the Western Front, was narrated by a 19 year old German soldier who fights at the French front with his comrades. The soldier s name was Paul and throughout the story, Paul mentions the horrible and terrible things he and his friends had to live throughout the war on the front. Most of his friends are the same age as him and are from the same school Paul went to and they all voluntarily joined the army after being influenced by their teacher, Kantorek, by listening to his speeches. They later realize that the speeches Kantorek said were meaningless and did not believe that being in the war or that the war itself at all was honorable or glorious, it was just a brutal battlefield that brought physical and constant terror.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Before Kemmerich dies, he asks Paul to give his boots to Muller knowing that it would be no use to him after he dies and that it would be better off with Muller then thrown away. The story goes on with Paul and his friends struggling to survive with small portions of food and the never ending war continuing on the front. Paul and his friends survive many attacks and bombardments learning and understanding different weapons the enemy is using and the different noises or sound that can help them understand where a shell is hitting or where a gas grenade might have been thrown. Paul also watches unexperienced rookies who gets taken over by the terror of the war and also watches them fall one by one. Soon, Paul receives seventeen days to go back home and realizes that his mother has cancer. He also feels different and realizes that he might never be the same person as he was before he joined the war. At his time at his hometown, he visits Kemmerich s mother and does not tell her the truth about how her son really died. Instead of stating the truth, he tells her that her son died an instant and painful ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Effects Of Economics On Political Change The findings of this study leads to puzzling discoveries. Moving forward, researchers should look at effects of economics on political change in the South at a local level as well as at the state level. While the findings suggest a decline in agriculture affected party strength, the more general question about economic change affecting party strength/partisanship needs further exploration. There were more economic changes occurring in the South besides agricultural decline. The South also experienced increases in its manufacturing, government and services sectors during the time under study. Under the current hypothesis as a community becomes less agricultural, people most people made more money and became more susceptible economic... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A mixed methods approach seems on the outset to be most appropriate for this future research, because it allows for interviews with local party leaders to guide the statistical analyses. Also, most people consider themselves citizens of a community more than they consider themselves citizens of a state. Thus, individuals should be better able to notice the economic change on a community level instead of a state level. The closest data that is publically available for community data is at the county or municipal level. One particular problem with doing research at the county level is that not all data one would want is available at that level. Missing data was a particularly troublesome problem for the present analysis but there are some possibilities to provide a statistical fix to that problem. Some of these issues may be solved using multilevel modeling to generate point estimates from large national polls, however, a statistical fix does not cure the absence of data. One of the interesting findings of this project concerned the effects of turnout on changes in party strength. There seem to be several ways forward here. One can expand the study and see if changes in turnout also drove changes outside of the South. This seems unlikely, however, because the South had such anemic turnout at the start of the period under study while the rest of the nation did not. There are other ways to address this as well. For example, I could look at cohorts of first time voters ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. The Success Of Any Business The success of any business can be traced back to management. For this reason, managers need to be able to adapt to and address the changing needs of not only their customs, but even more importantly, their employees. Change is always occurring, and the manner in which an employee s needs are attended to in present day society, is rather different from that of 100 years ago. The development from the 19th and early 20th century managementstrategies, to the current management understanding, was not a change that occurred overnight. It was a gradual movement from the earliest management philosophy, the Classical Perspective, to the Scientific Management Approach, to today s Humanistic Perspective. Developed in the 19th century, the Classical Perspective addressed the issue of maximizing efficiency. Historically, during this time period, a majority of people in the workforce were immigrants with no previous training or knowledge of the jobs they were set to perform. Thus, managers were burdened with the task of converting these unskilled workers into employees who performed their jobs correctly and in a timely manner, despite cultural barriers, in attempt to turn businesses into efficient operating machines. The problems in industry during this time, such as managing huge unskilled labor forces in factories, dealing with complex production systems, and managing an expansive manufacturing operation, were the sole focus of the Classical Perspective. This perspective did not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Absolute Monarchy And The Third Estate Under the absolute monarchy during the eighteenth century, there was a divide between the three estates with the Third Estate, which encompassed subjects with no formal title, being the outcast. The nobility and the clergy formed a cohesive unit that agreed on each other s needs, leaving the working men and women of the Third Estate to fend for themselves, which was a leading factor to the split between the Estates. Despite the famine and hunger that had affected some of the Third Estate, the aristocracy was still hosting lavish dinners. Even though this method was beneficial for the First and Second Estates, the substantial population that identified as the Third Estate, left in a formidable position, struggled to correct this situation. ... • 8. How Far Do You Agree That Trotskyв Ђ™s Leadership of the Red... How far do you agree that Trotsky s leadership of the Red Army was responsible for the survival of the Bolshevik government? (30 marks) There were many factors that contributed to the survival of the Bolshevik Government, ranging from Trotsky s leadership of the Red Army to the failings of the Bolsheviks rivals for power. This essay shows that the main reason for the Bolsheviks continued survival through the period was not Trotsky s great leadership of the Red Army, but the opposition s mistakes and failings. This will be demonstrated by analysing the key factors leading to the survival of the Bolshevik Government: Trotsky s leadership; Lenin s leadership; The Bolsheviks geographical advantage; and finally the Bolsheviks enemies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Much of the strategy employed by Trotsky and his generals was designed to weaken the enemies transport system so that they could not effectively organise and coordinate troop movements. Therefore many battles took place near sections of train track and stations, which crippled many enemy attacks and allowed the Bolsheviks to crush each attack and then move on, rather than fighting on several fronts. This great strategy employed by Trotsky helped the Bolshevik Government survive, and without Trotsky and his control of the Red Army, the Bolshevik Government would most likely not have survived. A further factor that contributed to the survival of the Bolshevik Government was Lenin s great leadership of the whole Bolshevik party. At first glance, it appears as though Lenin played only a small role during the Civil War because he remained in Moscow throughout, however, when looked at more closely it can be seen that Lenin was a key decision maker. Lenin forced through the Treaty of Brest Litovsk when many opposed it; he did this because he had promised peace to the public and he needed their support to have any chance of winning the Civil War, and therefore helping the Bolshevik Government survive. Lenin also instigated the policy of War Communism, in which industry was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. The US Constitution on Privacy Rights I. Introduction The U.S. constitution contains no expression of valued rights in considering privacy. Therefore, the Supreme Court has adopted a rather narrow interpretation of the Fourteenth Amendment specifically in regards to the term liberty, as established in the due process clause . Earlier Supreme Court decisions were not concerned with how states constituted their residents. Thus, any state, at this time, was at the liberty to deprive its residents of their first amendment, freedom of speech, religion, and press. However, this is much leniency and room for interpretation in the Due Process Clause, because it may be stretched to constitute not only at federal level but the state level. Basically, a state choosing to regulate health services, such as contraceptives, by prohibiting the uses and deem them as crimes, if used, rather than focusing on the sales and manufacturing, is clearly an unfavorable effect towards a marital relationship. III. The Right to Abortion The Griswold v. Connecticut is greatly remarkable and struck controversy in the hearts of many. Thus, in relation to the Griswold v. Connecticut case is yet another controversial case decided seven years later, Roe v. Wade(1973). This case serves as a landmark case involving the issue of privacy under the due process clause, however consisted of moderately different facts compared to the Griswold v. Connecticut case, in that a pregnant woman brought to Court, in the state of Texas, the proscribing dispute to terminate a pregnancy, which under Texas law abortion subsisted as a criminal statute. The rather surprising aspect of this case was the Courts ruled it as constitutional. Not only did it perform exceptionally well on the PlayStation, across all platforms, only Pokemon Sun/Moon on the 3DS sold more copies. Without doubt, the FIFA franchise is huge and while EA Sportsknow that they re likely to top the sales charts each year, I m happy to report that with FIFA 18, they are not resting on their laurels. Thanks to subtle improvements to the gameplay, as well as new features in the Career Mode , this year s FIFA is EA s most complete entry in the series to date. This attention to detail also stretches to certain players. While it would be impossible to uniquely program thousands of footballers individually, the bigger name, as well as some lesser known players, have their own unique style of play. Of course, Ronaldo and Messi play like their real life counterparts but it s refreshing to see someone like Matt Ritchie behave in a similar fashion to real life. Although not a bad thing, the differences between FIFA s 17 and 18 regarding AI behaviour adapting during a match is less noticeable. Games are slow and play out similarly to FIFA 17, with an emphasis on possession being the key to unlock defences. However, one welcome change I found is how teams react to falling a goal or two behind. One gripe I have of FIFA games is how the AI responds to conceding early on. Teams tend to go kamikaze, prematurely piling men forward leaving gaps in defence. This behaviour is common at the latter stages of a real match but not early on. With FIFA 18, teams do seem less partial to keep throwing men forward nonsensically when falling behind, now only doing so when time is running out or the possibility of a comeback is likely. The quick substitution feature is a welcome addition. Quite simply, as a match nears its conclusion, pressing the R2 button brings up a small box where you can substitute a tiring player with a positional like for like replacement instead of pausing ... • 12. Stereotypes In High School High school is full of a variety of types of people, who can all be labeled into certain groups or stereotypes. High school can be an amazing time for people, just as easily as it could be a terrible time for people. It s quite odd how everyone goes to the same school, and mostly attend the same courses, yet they are significantly different from one another. Every school has the classic jocks, nerds, partiers/stoners, etc., but it appears our generation has created several new stereotypes. With students spending approximately 35 hours a week at school, it is easy for one another to label each other, and determine who they fit in with. The most common stereotype in Spring Lake is the Preppy Rich Kid. The Preppy part of these kids is that they love to wear a perfectly matching outfit; including their colorful Polo Shirts/t shirts, colorful short shorts, matching socks, with a matching pair of boat shoes/skate shoes. The Rich part of these kids is that they live in a big house on the water, their parents have high paying jobs, and their parents will buy them whatever they desire. These kids typically drive an expensive foreign car, usually blaring rap music out of their car s subwoofer everyday to school. Once they have arrived at school, most of them have a very enjoyable day. For the most part, they have a perfect life, including getting all the girls/boys, receiving good grades, being attractive, and being a phenomenal athlete. These kids are likable people, and ... Family Group Conferences In regard to social process, New Zealand has relied on restorative justice practices in order to increase understanding and reduce tensions and conflict. Progressive in nature, they support the engaging of people of diverse cultures and faiths in an attempt to recognize common humanity (Clark, 2007). As a result, Family group conferencing originated in New Zealand in 1989 and routinely involves victims, offenders, and additional community members (Armour, 2012, p. 26). Family group conferencing is similar to victim offender mediation in that it also seeks to give victims the opportunity to express the impact of their crime which occurred to them, to receive answers, and to have an active role in the process of holding offenders accountable for their actions (Umbreit Zehr, 1996, p. 24). Unlike victim offender mediation, however, family group conferencing brings family members, social service professionals, law enforcement (if needed), community members, and any other stakeholder necessary to address the problem (Beck et. al, 2015, p. 222). By acknowledging a wider range of people as victims of an offense, family group conferencing contributes to the overall healing of the community. If the suspect was a juvenile, they would go into the juvenile justice system. Next is the prosecution; charging, initial appearance, preliminary hearing, and indictment or information. During charging, the prosecution attorneys are the link between police and the court; they must decide if there is reasonable cause to believe an offense was committed, they either are released or have an initial appearance. At the initial appearance, they are brought before a judge, given a formal notice of charges, advised of their rights, and given a chance to post bail. • 33. Maternal Mortality And Death Of A Pregnant Woman Essay Introduction Maternal mortality/death is defined as the death of a pregnant woman by causes related to the pregnancy or its management, or death of a post partum mother within 42 days after pregnancy termination (Requejo, Bryce, Victora, Deixel, 2013; Ronsmans, Graham, group, 2006; Say et al., 2014). There are proposals to change this definition to make it include one year post partum death of mothers, as the risk of death has been shown to remain high half a year post partum (Ronsmans et al., 2006). Many maternal deaths that occur usually occur in low and middle income countries. In the year 2010, 287, 000 maternal deaths that were avoidable occurred, and most occurred in these developing countries. Reduction of maternal deaths has been one of the outcomes that have been targeted in the efforts to improve maternal health for the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) (Say et al., 2014). In developing countries, especially Sub Saharan Africa, where fertility levels remain high, maternal deaths have continued to be high despite the general deaths reduction (Requejo et al., 2013). Many argue that there is not enough information to confidently describe and quantify this problem, but Requejo et al., 2013 reported that the available information is sufficient. They never killed him, they never crucified him they were made to think that they did. All factions are full of doubt concerning this issue. They possess no knowledge; they only conjecture. Second, the writers of the Gospels did not attempt an exhaustive narrative; in other words, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John had no intention of telling us every detail of the resurrection or every event in the order that it happened. If the resurrection accounts harmonize perfectly, skeptics will claim that the writers of the Gospels conspired together. If the resurrection accounts have some differences, skeptics will claim that the Gospels contradict each other and therefore cannot be trusted. It is our contention that the resurrection accounts can be harmonized and do not contradict each other. Islam teaches that Jesus never died but was assumed into heaven. • 36. Four Categories Of Love George Sand claimed that, there is only one happiness in this life, to love and be loved. Humans as a species crave interaction and have a longing for love. Love a person feels can be the driving force for their actions, causing people to commit inappropriate actions and have unthinkable thoughts. However, it can also cause eternal happiness and happy endings. At a philosophic standpoint there are four different categories for love: Philia, Storge, Agape, and Eros. Philia is often translated to mean brotherly love or friendship. This can be the love a person feels for their friends, neighbors, co workers, and the people in their lives below their family. When people consider others to be friends it is often because they have shared interest or hobbies. Friends are people that a person can confide with and feel safe with. A person wants to have this feeling with someone and because of that this type of love can drive a person to actions they would not normally do. It is because of the connection they feel towards that person and the closeness they feel. It might be a shared event or story. Banana Yoshimoto wrote a novel titled, Kitchen, that involves a man and woman falling in love after a shared experience. When Yuichi s classmate came to confront Mikage about her relationship with Yuichi she claimed that, But love is not a joke, it also means sharing someone else s pain (Yoshimoto 72). What the troubled, jealous girl was saying is that loving someone involves sharing connections with a person. In this case Mikage and Yuichi shared the pain of the lose of two loved ones. Together they were able to feel each other s pain which caused their love to grow closer as the connections deepened. Yoshimoto continued the book by adding a second part to the novel that was a story all on its own. In this part of the story a young woman loses the love of her life, Hitoshi. She fell into despair and pain. At the same time as she was struggling with the lose of her best friend, another young man was losing the love of his life. It also shows the shape of the switching frequency variation for each sector. The following can be noted: The VSFSVPWM reduces 3 switching instances per cycle compared to CSFSVPWM, a 13.6 % reduction. The VSFDPWM reduces 2 switching instance per cycle compared to CSFDPWM, a 12.5% reduction. Hence, the proposed variable switching frequency PWM reduces the switching instances within a fundamental cycle by lowering the effective switching frequency, while maintaining the output current ripple within a pre defined range. To study the impact of VSFPWM on switching loss reduction over the entire modulation index range, the simulations were carried out different speeds (modulation indices) for a constant load torque. Table II and Table III compares the current ripple, and the percentage change in the current distortion and the switching losses for CSFSVPWM VSFSVPWM and CSFDPWM2 VSFDPWM2 techniques respectively. Similar to the analytical results at section II, there is higher switching loss reduction capability at higher speed due to higher variation in current ripple at higher speeds (modulation indices).
