Diet is an important therapy for managing diabetes mellitus and reducing complications. However, counseling and consultation on diabetes diets for patients in internal medicine clinics is still low. This study analyzed the relationship between diet patterns of diabetes patients and their education and knowledge levels. It found that patients with higher knowledge levels tended to have better diets in terms of food type, energy and carbohydrate consumption, but not for schedule, protein or fat intake. Education level did not correlate with any dietary variables. Overall, most respondents had moderate energy and carbohydrate intake but deficient protein and excessive fat consumption.

Ethnicity and culture have wide-ranging impact on human behavior. Understanding that impact is crucial to meaningful communication and the ability to appreciate the concerns of persons from different backgrounds. The adult brain is imprinted with many experiences that form one’s identity and influence one’s decisions. One’s community of origin forms the basis of language and culture whether one comes from another country or from an inner-city neighborhood. A person’s response to prison, poverty, or mental illness will be shaped by ethno-cultural background.
We will focus on how ethnicity and culture influence human behavior, and how to integrate that understanding into the design and delivery of accessible human service programs. Participants and graduates will compare experiences where ethno-cultural differences intersect with the justice system, homeless services, and employment opportunities. We will discuss strategies to create health and social service programs staffed with persons who are ethno-culturally competent, responsive, and respectful.

For the duration of the summer, we completely instrumented a small engine given to us by a private company to convert it to run completely on natural gas. During the summer we installed all sorts of instrumentation including thermo couplesr, CO2 sensors, High preforming heaters, fabricated a simple intake system. The importance Of doing this is because we needed to know exactly what is going on with the engine and monitor even the slightest change. when trying to run an engine on a different fuel source all the temperatures and pressures in different chambers have to be at an specific point so in instrumenting the engine is a mandatory task. At this point the engine is running well but there seems to be some discrepancies between the meters on installed on the engine. After some further calculations then we may be able to get the engine up and running for a small amount of time.

3) Factors associated with higher CAM use included being female, Asian ethnicity, and having prior CAM education. Most students said they would be interested in CAM courses if they fulfilled graduation requirements or were in their major.

Reducing HIV Stigma Among Nursing Students.docx
A study was conducted among 91 nursing students in India to evaluate the effectiveness of an educational intervention at reducing HIV stigma. Students received a course on HIV transmission, prevention, and the experiences of those living with HIV. Pre- and post-tests assessed students' knowledge and attitudes towards HIV. Results found the intervention significantly reduced misconceptions about HIV and decreased discriminatory attitudes compared to a control group. The study suggests educational interventions show promise in lowering HIV stigma among nursing students.

Most internists found more similarities than differences in caring for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and elderly adults with dementia. Both populations require longer office visits and more staffing resources due to complex health histories. Obtaining records and coordinating care can be difficult for both. Reliance on advocates, community services for transportation and supervision, and vulnerability to insurance changes are also similarities. While specific diseases differ, models for geriatric care could potentially address supervision and caretaking needs for adults with I/DD.
