News Report on Liberal democrats party campaign
1. News report on the Liberal
Democrats Party
Liberal democrats Official Website:
http://www.libdems.org.uk/home.aspx
The liberal democrats are a political party, who are socialists and believe in the redistribution of
wealth, the human rights law, cultural liberalism and civil liberties. Nick clegg was elected leader in
2007.
(While I am talking about their main messages and ideas their official website is displayed behind
me on a screen while I am sat on a desk)
The Lib dems main message and ideas said by them in this statement “The Liberal Democrats exist to
build and safeguard a fair, free and open society, in which we seek to balance the fundamental
values of liberty, equality and community and in which no-one shall be enslaved by poverty,
ignorance or conformity”
And as a whole what they want to achieve, they said “We aim to disperse power, to foster diversity
and to nurture creativity”
(Here are images are displayed of people who represent the Liberal democrats such as Nick Clegg
himself and some of his followers.)
The target audience of the campaign overall is for people over 18 who can vote, but in order to get
their votes they target individual groups, such as couples, communities, homosexuals, children and
their schools. The way in which they target them are below:
When it comes to communities as a whole liberal democrats believe its time communities came back
together. In order to do this the Lib dems want to run it’s to local services instead of the central
governments and by helping protect local services by funding for sustainable transport, projects
plans for giving couples more freedom to organise parental leave also providing a fairer future for
social housing.
Offering support to millions of families affected with spiralling debts, rising foods and unaffordable
mortgages. This would be done by cutting taxes for people who are at the bottom of the economy
then working their way upwards.
Especially focusing on Children and their education as they are our next generation. They want to
aim to cut the size of classes also Allow the teachers the freedom to extend the time in which they
teach classes, raising money for more one to one classes. They will spend an extra 7 billion for the
poorest kids to start a better life.
One of the strategies of the campaign and methods used to reach their target audience is by doing
smaller campaigns like save money, stay warm and go green which is to help people in the local
community. This campaign has three goals; increasing the awareness of saving insulation schemes,
ensuring older people are getting the help they need to stay warm for the winter and finally giving
2. advice on saving money, staying warm and going green. The campaign is presented to its audience
on this webpage on their actual website
(Webpage is now on the screen and I am pointing at It)

_Green!&pPK=96ec53e0-404d-4e3f-83a5-3af0663e91a4 – The link to the webpage of the save
money, stay war and go green.
For more information on this other small campaign run by them you can follow them on their
facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/SaveMoneyStayWarmGoGreen
Another way of targeting their audience is by Social media Integration on Facebook; they have their
own webpage- http://www.facebook.com/libdems , videos on Youtube describing and informing
the audience about the changes happening and what they can offer also tweeting so they can gain
as many followers as possible.
Promoting themselves by allowing followers to download free posters;

while describing the posters I am signalling the different ones on the webpage which on presented
on the screen
Adverts on buildings are very one the most popular methods of the lib dems to target their
audience. Image shown on screen
3. The Liberal Democrats have released an
election campaign poster which tries to turn
voter apathy to its advantage.
The posters feature a map of Britain largely
coloured in the party's trademark yellow.
Next to it are the words, "If you thought the
Liberal Democrats could win in your area, this
is how you'd vote."
On the of the liberal democrats followers said
"There is a strand of Liberal Democrat in all of
us” said Banc chairmen Robert Bean.

Liberal democrats are have also began Email marketing
campaigns, also distributing online and handed out
magazines taking this online magazine as an example.
Also by holding conferences and having press releases to
grab their audiences attention , some of their press releases
are seen on this webpage
;http://www.libdems.org.uk/press_releases.aspx

The success of the campaign in achieving its aims are shown mostly through the Smaller towns and
areas which had increased their votes for the Lib dems since 2007 which shows the improvements in
votes, an example of this was in tiring east and rural.
Here I am pointing at the
statistics on the screen.
The graph on my right shows a
7% rise in vote for liberal
democrats since 2007 in places
such as tiring east and
rural. Which suggests the Liberal
Democrats will take the seat in
2015.

4. By partnering up with other companies to help gain votes for the election. for example the liberal
democrats appointed “Being” as their digital partner when it was the 2010 elections would be
effective when reaching out to their audience and be a useful tool to help their campaign move
forward below there is an article page which describes the success of partnering up with
“Being”;http://www.beingonline.co.uk/casestudy-libdems.aspx
Below there is an article which shows a celebration that took place with the liberal democrats to
celebrate the achievements they had made for example; with schools, welfare, pensions, renovation
of banks and NHS;http://www.spectator.co.uk/coffeehouse/7245833/the-lib-dems-celebrate-their-
achievements.thtml
