French company Filasa will invest €780 million to build 12 wind farms in Suceava County, Romania. The wind farms will have a total installed capacity of 429 MW and be located across 8 localities. Filasa aims to both make a profit and contribute to EU renewable energy goals. The project will create around 1,000 construction jobs and 50 permanent jobs. A new 400 MW transmission line must also be built to connect the wind farms to Romania's energy grid, as the existing network is insufficient. Filasa has already invested €6.2 million in research, offices, and permits for the project.
