your book and access
code, or financial aid,

whatever your reason
may be, you can get a
temporary, 14 day
access code by clicking
here and following the
directions.
Requirements
 Should you Buy a Textbook?
Not necessarily, because an online version of the book is available in MyLab with
just the Access Code. Here are your options:
 Buy a textbook – The biggest advantage of having a book is that you can study
offline. And if you buy it new at the Mendocino College bookstore (in Ukiah,
Lakeport, or Willits), it comes bundled with a MyLab Access Code.
 Get a Used Book – This is fine, but you also will need to have your own MyLab
Access Code, since the codes are linked to a specific student.
 Buy a stand-alone code – This is a less expensive option, and gets you into the
course where you can use the online textbook (downside: can’t scroll, must click
page to page.) You may purchase it at the Mendocino College bookstore, or
online with a credit card during the MyLab registration process.
 [Note: If you plan to buy a textbook off-campus, check your course syllabus for the correct
ISBNs to be sure you get the book and an access code.]
What if you are unable to get
a book right away?
 If you are unable to purchase a book or an access code right
away, you can (and must, so that you do not get behind)
utilize a temporary 14-day access code.
 You will find the option for this when you are going
through the procedure of accessing the class.
 When asked for an access code, you will see an option for
the temporary code.
 You must upgrade to a full access code within the 14 days,
or you risk not being able to complete the class.
