This document discusses the potential for bamboo as a sustainable agribusiness in Brazil. It notes that Brazil has over 200 million hectares suitable for bamboo cultivation, but currently only plants 7 million hectares of pine and eucalyptus. Bamboo can grow in various climate and soil conditions across Brazil. Several countries and Brazilian states have successful bamboo industries, showing it can be cultivated and harvested intensively. Bamboo has many potential uses for biomass, fibers, and other products that could support new Brazilian industries and help reforest degraded lands.
