3. MOTIVATION GAME/DRILL (BRAIN, HEART, TOUCH!)
If I say “BRAIN” point your finger in your head, If I say “HEART” put
your hand in a heart shape in your chest and If I say “TOUCH” put your
hands sideward.
HEAD HEART TOUCH
4. THE NERVOUS SYSTEM
.
• THE SYSTEM THAT CONNECTS ALL YOUR BODY
PARTS AND TRANSMIT SIGNALS FROM ONE PART
TO ANOTHER
• IT SERVES AS THE MAIN PROCESSING CENTER OF
OUR BODY
5. NERVOUS SYSTEM WAS DIVIDED INTO TWO
MAJOR DIVISIONS
CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM PERIPHERAL NERVOUS SYSTEM
6. 1. BRAIN
- THE BRAIN FUNCTIONS AS THE
ORGANIZER AND DISTRIBUTOR OF
INFORMATION IN OUR BODY.
BRAIN HAS THREE MAIN PARTS
NAMELY:
• CEREBRUM
• CEREBELLUM
• BRAIN STEM
CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM (CNS)
- serves as the main processing center for the entire nervous system.
- It consists of two main components which are the BRAIN and the SPINAL CORD.
7. - CEREBRUM
Large and upper part of our brain and responsible for controlling activities and
thoughts.
- CEREBELLUM
Located under the cerebrum and controls human posture, balance, and
coordination
- BRAIN STEM
It connects brain to the spinal cord and controls the automatic functions such as
breathing, heart rate, digestion and blood pressure.
2.) SPINAL CORD
- Serves as the channel for signals between the brain and the rest of the body, and
controls simple musculoskeletal reflexes without input from the brain.
8. PERIPHERAL NERVOUS SYSTEM (PNS)
-it connects the central nervous system to organs and limbs.
-the two main divisions of PNS are SOMATIC NERVOUS SYSTEM and AUTONOMIC
AUTONOMIC NERVOUS SYSTEM.
9. 1. SOMATIC NERVOUS SYSTEM
-this system is associated with the voluntary control of body movements
-voluntary processes in our body (writing, running, walking etc..)
TWO MAIN PARTS OF SOMATIC NS
a.) SPINAL NERVES
the nerves that carry out motor
and sensory signals between the
spinal cord and the body.
functions below the neck to the
rest of the body
Examples:
Writing and Running
b.) CRANIAL NERVES
the nerve fibers that carry information
into and out of the brain.
functions in head and neck
Examples:
Olfactory – sense of smell
Optic – sense of sight
10. 2. AUTONOMIC NERVOUS SYSTEM
-This system is associated with the involuntary control of your body
movements (breathing, heartbeat)
TWO SUBDIVISIONS
ARE:
a. SYMPATHETIC
It is activated when the body is
in dynamic role or stress.
b. PARASYMPATHETIC
It maintains body functions and
restores body to normal or relaxed
mode.
11. STEPHEN HAWKING
(LOU GEHRIG’S DISEASE)
-nervous system disease
that affects the brain and
spinal cord causing the loss
of muscle control
DISCOVERIES AND
INOVATIONS ARE:
-Laws of Black Hole
Mechanics
- Cosmic Inflation Theory
and more.
12. SEATWORK:

2. A system that is voluntary control in the movement of our body
such as writing, running, walking and etc.
a. Somatic NS b. Autonomic NS c. Automatic NS
3. It serves as the “main processing center of our body”
a. Digestive System b. Nervous System c. Reproductive System
System
13. 4. This system is associated with involuntary control of our body
movements.
a. Somatic NS b. Autonomic NS c. Spinal Nerves
5. Serves as the main processing center of the nervous system.
a. Central NS b. Autonomic NS c. Peripheral NS
6. It connects the central nervous system to organs and limbs.
a. Central NS b. Autonomic NS c. Peripheral NS
