This document provides guidance for Negro adults and children on how to behave and interact with white people in the South. For adults, it advises Negro women and men to speak only when spoken to by whites, call whites by courtesy titles, and give right of way to whites. It advises against eating with whites, showing public affection, accusing whites of lying or being dishonorable, saying whites are inferior, or cursing whites. For children, it advises staying away from whites as much as possible and going to school if provided, and advises against talking to, cursing, accusing, or laughing at whites.
