2. INTRODUCTIONTO “nbc”
• National Engineering Industries Limited (NEI) is the flagship company of the CK Birla Group, a
conglomerate with a turnover of US$ 1.6 billion.
• NEI was founded in 1946 by the renowned industrialist, Shri B M Birla, under the name of ‘National
Bearing Company Limited’.
• The name of the company was changed in 1958 to ‘National Engineering Industries Ltd.’ retaining
its original trade mark NBC.
• Over the past 60 years, NBC, has grown to be the leading and fastest growing bearings brand in India
and currently produces over 100 million bearings in more than a 1000 sizes every year.
5. “nbc” Jaipur Plant
• NEI’s Jaipur Plant is located at Khatipura Road.
• The Jaipur Plant also act as Headquarter of National Engineering Industries Limited.
• Spread over a total area of 4,78,900 m2 and a covered area of 75,310 m2.
• Jaipur plant has state of the art manufacturing facilities and capable to manufacture all types of Ball

8. Taper Roller Bearing Department
• This plant with the most modern equipment was set up in the year 1968.
• Manufactured at an ultra-modern plant, with technology obtained from our earlier collaborators, Federal
Mogul Corporation, USA and now with NTN Corporation, JAPAN, these bearings are used by all major
automobiles, truck and tractor manufacturers in the country as original equipment.
• The above bearings are manufacture in inch & metric series form 15.857mm bore to 95.25mm bore.
• For TRB NEI has Automatic Grinding Lines with in-process & post process gauges. Complete automation by
Flex link conveyor. Crowning provision on Inner (Cone) & Outer (Cup).
• Complete Automatic Line for Roll Grinding, Super finishing, Inspection and Sorting imported from NTN,
Japan automatic checking & prevention of inverted roller & roller missing. Automatic checking of stand
height, noise and run outs.
• Presently under modernization and expansion plan the new latest state of the art technology lines are
installed.
• The plant is spread over a cover area of 11,652 sq. mtr.

Pre-Set Hub assemblies for Heavy commercial vehicle applications. Preset hubs utilize pre-adjusted bearings to facilitate proper installation, extend seal and bearing life and ease maintenance. Almost 90% of the heavy trucks in North America use the preset hub technology.
One of the critical areas related to automobiles today is the conservation of natural resources. In a vehicle, only about 12.6 % of energy is used for moving the vehicle whereas 62% is lost to engine friction, engine-pumping losses and to waste heat, 17% is lost in idling, 2% lost in accessories operation and 5.6% lost in the drive train due to friction and slippage.
By understanding the various torque contributors to the bearing such as grease, seal and internal bearing geometry, NBC has developed the low torque bearing technology. The low torque grease has been developed by various fundamentals on tribo-meter along with design of low torque seal and optimization of internal geometry to improve fuel efficiency. Low torque bearings reduce friction by 15-20% and improve fuel efficiency.
NBC has engineered fuel efficient bearing for transmission and wheel bearing application of two wheeler segments. These bearings have also been developed for other automotive segments (cars, trucks, tractors, etc.)
