Acne is a very common skin disease that can occur on many areas of the body and can develop at any age. Face acne is very common, but chest acne and back acne, as well as acne on the scalp, neck, shoulders, and upper arms are also ordinary. Acne is a disease that affects the skin's oil glands (Pilosebaceous unit). The small holes in your skin (pores) connect to oil glands under the skin. These glands make an oily substance called sebum. The pores connect to the glands by a canal called a follicle. Inside the follicles, oil carries dead skin cells to the surface of the skin. A thin hair also grows through the follicle and out to the skin. When the follicle of a skin gland clogs up, a pimple grows. Most pimples are found on the face, neck, back, chest, and shoulders. Acne is not a serious health threat, but it can cause permanent pits and scars....

It is a type of chronic obstructive
pulmonary disease.
It is a progressive disease of lungs.
This particular slides consist of- what is hypotension, what are it's causes and it's effect on body, risk factors, symptoms, complications, diagnosis and role of physiotherapy in it.
This slide is very helpful for physiotherapy students and also for other medical and healthcare students.
Here is the summary of hypotension:
Hypotension, or low blood pressure, is when the pressure of blood circulating in the body is lower than normal or expected. It's only a problem if it negatively impacts the body and causes symptoms. Normal blood pressure is usually between 90/60 mmHg and 120/80 mmHg, but pressures below 90/60 are generally considered hypotensive.
The facial nerve, also known as cranial nerve VII, is one of the 12 cranial nerves originating from the brain. It's a mixed nerve, meaning it contains both sensory and motor fibres, and it plays a crucial role in controlling various facial muscles, as well as conveying sensory information from the taste buds on the anterior two-thirds of the tongue.
This particular slides consist of- what is Pneumothorax, what are it's causes and it's effect on body, risk factors, symptoms, complications, diagnosis and role of physiotherapy in it.
This slide is very helpful for physiotherapy students and also for other medical and healthcare students.
Here is a summary of Pneumothorax:
Pneumothorax, also known as a collapsed lung, is a condition that occurs when air leaks into the space between the lung and chest wall. This air buildup puts pressure on the lung, preventing it from expanding fully when you breathe. A pneumothorax can cause a complete or partial collapse of the lung.

2. Dermatology & Trichology
ī´ Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin.
It is a specialty with both medical and surgical aspects. A
dermatologist is a specialist medical doctor who manages
diseases related to skin, hair, nails, and some cosmetic
problems.
ī´ Trichology is the science of the structure, function and
diseases of the human hair. Clinical trichology is the diagnosis
and treatment of diseases and disorders of the human hair
and scalp.
5. common hair problems
ī´ 1) Dandruff
ī´ Dandruff, scaly particles that cling to the root of the hair, can be caused by a poor diet, an
infection, or even a sluggish metabolism.
ī´ 2) Hair Loss
ī´ Although historically discussed as a problem among men, hair loss/thinning hair is also common
among women. For most men, it may be male pattern balding. Female hair loss is often caused
by stress, medication, changing hormones, and even menopause. Additionally, many hair styling
products (chemicals/excessive heat) can contribute to hair loss.
ī´ How to fix it: Try a hair loss shampoo to add nutrition and to clean dirt, oil and the build-up of
product residue that can cause hair loss. Also, limit the use of heat products to a bare minimum.
ī´ 3) Dry Hair
ī´ Shampooing too often causes dry hair. Although squeaky-clean hair is a good thing, many
overdo it by washing once, sometimes twice, per day. That will strip away all of the hairâs natural
oils.
ī´ How to fix it: A gentle shampoo will stimulate the oil glands. Youâre safe washing your hair about
every three days using an acidic shampoo with a pH between 5 and 6. Also, try an overnight
moisturizing conditioner and a hot oil treatment to battle dry hair.
6. common hair problems
ī´ 4) Spit Ends
ī´ Over-brushing hair, excessive perming, too much heat, and lack of a good conditioner
cause split ends.
ī´ How to fix it: Treat your hair with care; and, if you have split ends, be sure to get a
professional trim.
ī´ 5) Oily/Greasy Hair
ī´ Oily hair is caused when the scalp produces too much of a natural oil called sebum.
Sebum is produced by sebaceous glands, which can sometimes âwork overtimeâ, resulting
in excessive amounts of oil.
ī´ How to fix it: Try a shampoo that is specially formulated to control sebum.
ī´ 6) Frizzy Hair
ī´ Frizzy hair occurs when the hairâs moisture level falls below normal levels, and it can also
be hereditary.
ī´ How to fix it: Use a shampoo and conditioner specifically designed for frizzy hair. Talk to a
professional for specific product suggestions. You may also want to consider a mild relaxer
to keep the frizziest at bay.

8. WHAT IS THE DEFINITION OF NATURAL
HEALTH?
ī´ Natural health is often referred to as natural healing. Theyâre both a general term for
healing techniques that are rooted in natural remedies and self-care. Some of the
more common natural health therapies and medicines include:
ī´ Acupuncture
ī´ Acupressure

9. WHAT IS THE NATURAL HEALTH APPROACH?
ī´ Approaching natural health can be a big task. Especially if you are unsure of how
to start. To truly approach your health in a completely natural way you have to
take the whole-person and their lifestyle into consideration. Natural Health is a
holistic approach to your habits. Some of the things you must take into
consideration are:
ī´ How you eat
ī´ What you eat
ī´ What you drink
ī´ The environment youâre exposed to
ī´ What foods you should avoid
ī´ What supplements your body needs
ī´ What kind of stressors are affecting you
10. NATURAL HEALTH VS CONVENTIONAL
MEDICINE
ī´ The approach of natural health is different than conventional medicine. It is often
time a more balanced way of healing, eating, and living. Natural healing can be a
long process, but it can provide immediate results. For example, if youâre tired, you
probably need food and rest. You might need to avoid a certain food that makes your
body sleepy. This will take longer than the conventional approach where you grab an
energy drink or some other type of stimulant. Your body is not tired because it needs
caffeine or sugar. Your body is tired because you havenât given it the exact medicine
(food) that it wants.
ī´ Natural healthcare can be used entirely on its own, aka alternative medicine. Or, it can
be used with traditional western medicine, called integrative health or functional
medicine. Conventional medicine that complements natural medicine is becoming
very popular. More medical doctors are combining their techniques with other
alternative health therapies like massage, chiropractic, nutrition, supplementation,
and detoxification.
11. WHAT ARE SOME THINGS I CAN DO TO HEAL
NATURALLY?
ī´ Remove toxins from your body by:

ī´ Remove toxins from your home by:
ī´ Removing traditional cleaning products
ī´ Checking beauty products
ī´ Checking body care products
ī´ Removing traditional cooking products
ī´ Replacing the above with organic options
12. Skin care tips: Effective home remedies for
healthy and flawless skin
ī´ Apply raw potato
ī´ Raw potato is a great skin brightener. Fine mash the potato and apply on your face as a pack and
rinse after a few minutes with lukewarm water. Potato is excellent for treating under eye dark circles
as well. Cut thin slices of potato and keep on your eyes for a few minutes. Regular use of this will
give you a glowing skin.
ī´ Combine honey and cinnamon
ī´ People suffering from acne should use a homemade mask made with honey and cinnamon. This
mask helps in reducing active acne. Apply fresh Aloe Vera pulp as it is a great moisturizer for acne
prone dry skin.
ī´ Turmeric can do wonders
ī´ Turmeric consists of natural anti-oxidant, antiseptic and skin brightening properties. Applying a
paste of turmeric will help remove tan and treat blemishes. Lemon is high in Vitamin C and
antioxidants, making it another excellent skin brightener, A paste made with curd as base and mixed
with turmeric and lemon is excellent for removing tanning.
ī´ Tomato juice is effective
ī´ Tomatoes help in shrinking pores. Mix tomato juice with a few drops of lemon and apply on your
face. Rinse with lukewarm water. Regular use of this will give you the best results. Tomatoes also
help in reducing blackheads. Massage your blackhead prone area with tomato slices to deal with
blackheads.
13. Skin care tips: Effective home remedies for
healthy and flawless skin
ī´ Milk plus honey is magical
ī´ Honey and milk can do wonders in bringing out a flawless glow which every woman craves
for. Milk helps in preventing acne and moisturizes the skin well. People with sensitive skin can
use face washes that contain no chemicals or paraben.
ī´ Moisturize skin with tea tree oil
ī´ Another important step in the skin care routine is the application of a moisturizer. One should
preferably use essential oils like tea tree and jojoba oil, which aid in masking imperfections
and improve the texture of the skin.
ī´ Tip: Tea tree oil should be used with a carrier oil and should never be applied directly on the
face.
ī´ Rose water is the basic
ī´ Rose essential oil or rose water is one of the best toners out there, which is suitable for all skin
types. Store it in a spray bottle and use it twice a day. It would help to soothe and calm the
skin, balance ph levels, and help repair the skin's elasticity.
ī´ So, these are seven simple tips that can help your skin to rejuvenate and also, protects the skin
from becoming dull and pale.
14. Natural hair growth remedies and the
science behind them
ī´ Scalp massage
ī´ Scalp massage appeals to many people seeking hair growth treatment because there are no
pills or injections involved. It also has a relaxing effect and can lower stress hormones, such
as cortisol. Scalp massages may work to improve hair growth by increasing blood flow to the
scalp and stimulating the hair follicles. When performed using certain oils, they can hydrate
the scalpâs epidermis. A healthy scalp environment improves conditions for future hair
growth.
ī´ Evidence: Scalp massages are thought to have positive effects on the quantity, thickness, and
growth rate of hair. One study noted decreased rates of hair loss after routine scalp
massaging. Unfortunately, most studies of this method are too small and not conclusive
enough to prove a direct correlation.
ī´ Should people try it? There is not enough scientific evidence to support scalp massage as a
direct method for improving hair growth. But scalp massaging is a relatively low-risk activity.
Adding it to your health and beauty routine wonât do any harm.
15. Natural hair growth remedies and the
science behind them
ī´ 2. Jojoba oil
ī´ Jojoba oil helps repair the skin surface and blocks inflammation. Itâs used as a micro-emulsion in
various beauty products because it assists in the absorption of certain active ingredients. In other
words, think of jojoba oil as a vehicle to transport other beneficial supplements to the hair follicle.
ī´ Evidence: There is no research that proves jojoba oil alone will help hair growth, but some studies
suggest it may help decrease breakage. And, thanks to its chemical composition, it is great for
combining with other nutrients to improve scalp conditions.
ī´ Should people try it? There arenât many risks associated with topical application of jojoba oil. But, as
with any product, there is a possibility of allergic reaction or skin irritation.
ī´ 3. Castor oil
ī´ Castor oil contains ricinoleic acid, which has anti-inflammatory properties.
ī´ Evidence: Castor oil can help moisturize hair and it also works as an antibacterial and anti-
inflammatory agent. These properties could create a better environment for hair follicles to grow, but
there are no studies showing that castor oil itself promotes hair growth.
ī´ Should people try it? In very rare cases, castor oil can cause acute hair felting, a condition that leaves
hair matted and twisted. For the majority of people, however, castor oil is safe to apply to the scalp.
Castor oil is commonly mixed with coconut oil for maximum benefits.
16. Natural hair growth remedies and the
science behind them
ī´ 4. Essential oils, like peppermint oil and rosemary oil
ī´ Essential oils are concentrated plant extracts that retain their organic properties. Two popular
essential oils for hair growth are peppermint oil and rosemary oil.
ī´ Evidence: While some animal studies found peppermint oil was promising for hair growth, a
2020 study emphasized the need for further research to confirm its effect on human hair. In
another small study, rosemary oil was found to be as effective as minoxidil treatment in growing
hair after 6 months. However, we need more and larger studies looking at essential oils for hair
growth.
ī´ Should people try it? Like jojoba oil, essential oils can sometimes irritate the skin and induce
allergic reactions.
ī´ 5. Coconut oil
ī´ Coconut oil is a triglyceride (fat) with a specific composition that makes it absorb into the hair
shaft easily. It is also full of healthy fatty acids and vitamins.
ī´ Evidence: One study suggests that coconut oil could reduce protein loss, resulting in fuller-
looking hair. Its antifungal and lubricating properties can make hair look shinier and stronger.
But there is no solid evidence to conclude that coconut oil is directly related to hair growth.
ī´ Should people try it? Coconut oil is safe to use on hair and has many reported benefits. But
keep in mind that coconut oil can clog pores and leave hair feeling greasy.
17. 1. Be More Active and Exercise
ī´ Exercise offers so many health benefits, itâs nothing short of a magic bullet.
Something as simple as a brisk walk for half an hour a day dramatically reduces the
risk of heart disease, diabetes, and several forms of cancer, including colon cancer,
one of the leading killers.
ī´ âA lifetime of regular exercise improves brain function, allows people to be active
and independent in their later years, and adds years to life,â says Steven Blair, PhD,
professor of exercise science at the University of South Carolina, who has helped
shape federal exercise guidelines. âThat addresses most of the leading chronic
health threats we face.â
18. 2. Maintain a Healthy diet & Weight
ī´ A healthy diet can help you look and feel your best. Eat plenty of fruits, vegetables,
whole grains and lean proteins. The association between diet and acne isn't clear â
but some research suggests that a diet rich in fish oil or fish oil supplements and low
in unhealthy fats and processed or refined carbohydrates might promote younger
looking skin. Drinking plenty of water helps keep your skin hydrated
ī´ Losing weight and keeping it off is difficult. Yet studies show that losing weight just a
few pounds if youâre overweight will improve your health. If your weight is normal,
work to keep it there by reining in calories and exercising frequently. A healthy diet
includes abundant fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. A good diet limits refined
sugars and saturated fats. One easy way to shed calories from your diet: drink water
instead of sugary beverages. They account for more and more calories in the American
diet.
19. 3. Donât Smoke: Quitting Saves Lives
ī´ A no-brainer. But lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer death -- and between
80% and 90% of cases are directly caused by smoking, according to the National Cancer
Institute.
ī´ Smoking makes your skin look older and contributes to wrinkles. Smoking narrows the
tiny blood vessels in the outermost layers of skin, which decreases blood flow and makes
skin paler. This also depletes the skin of oxygen and nutrients that are important to skin
health.
ī´ Smoking also damages collagen and elastin â the fibers that give your skin strength
and elasticity. In addition, the repetitive facial expressions you make when smoking â
such as pursing your lips when inhaling and squinting your eyes to keep out smoke â
can contribute to wrinkles.
ī´ In addition, smoking increases your risk of squamous cell skin cancer. If you smoke, the
best way to protect your skin is to quit. Ask your doctor for tips or treatments to help
you stop smoking.
20. 4. Find Joy From Family and Friends
ī´ Enjoying life and maintaining a circle of supportive friends is a big part of good
health. Indeed, having friendships may be second only to not smoking for preventing
heart attacks. People with extensive social networks, according to research at the
Uniformed Services University, are less likely to have calcification in their arteries, a
sign of heart disease risk.
ī´ One way to increase your happiness is to foster cheerful friends. âHappiness turns out
to spread through social networks,â says James D. Fowler, PhD, an associate professor
of political science at the University of California, San Diego. His research, which
tracked the spread of happiness among friends and even friends of friends, found
that a person is 15% more likely to be happy if a close contact is happy.
21. 5.Protect yourself from the sun
ī´ One of the most important ways to take care of your skin is to protect it from the sun. A
lifetime of sun exposure can cause wrinkles, age spots and other skin problems â as well
as increase the risk of skin cancer.
ī´ For the most complete sun protection:
ī´ Use sunscreen. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15. Apply
sunscreen generously, and reapply every two hours â or more often if you're swimming
or perspiring.
ī´ Seek shade. Avoid the sun between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., when the sun's rays are strongest.
ī´ Wear protective clothing. Cover your skin with tightly woven long-sleeved shirts, long
pants and wide-brimmed hats. Also consider laundry additives, which give clothing an
additional layer of ultraviolet protection for a certain number of washings, or special sun-
protective clothing â which is specifically designed to block ultraviolet rays.
22. Thank you very Much
ī´If you have any
question you can ask
