We predict that if we take the forest
floor away it would have a very
negative effect on all the trees and
bushes and animals;
• the animals would have no home
• the roots of trees would dry out
• the animals would have no food
• there will be less oxygen

Q1: What specific bugs, birds and insects live
on the forest floor?
Answer: On the forest floor, the creatures
you will find would include snails, spiders,
ants, earthworms, slugs, grasshoppers,
centipedes, ladybugs and occasionally you
will find tuataras and kiwi.
4. Q2: Where mainly do insects live?
They live in ponds, deserts, prairies, houses,
under ground, caves and in trees, but they
mainly live in the forest.
6. The forest floor is home to many species of
bugs and insects as well as kiwis and
tuataras. There are several members of the
ant family, the spider family and the worm
family. The rotting leaves which have fallen
from the trees build a moist environment
which is perfect for these creatures.
The food from the rotten leaves when it
rains sink into the soil and through the
roots of trees to make them grow

Our research showed that our
hypothesis was absolutely correct.
because if the forest floor was taken
away it would have a very negative
effect on the trees. animals live in
them. there will be less oxygen for us
to breath. the animals would have no
food to eat. And the roots of the trees
would dry out and they will die.
