This document outlines the schedule and activities for a week-long event at Deer Chase school to raise student success. It includes several dress-up days with themes like patriotic colors, clowns, and book characters. Students will participate in assemblies, a book character social, and have volunteers read to classes. The week culminates in an assembly honoring military veterans with a skit, speaker, and competitive art events for different grade levels. The goal is to encourage reading, education, and appreciation for faculty through fun dress-up themes and activities each day.

1. Theme: Raise Your Hand for Student Success
Kick-Off : “A Salute to Education” Hall Tribute
Students will assemble on their hallway at 2:00pm outside their classroom doors. Patriotic music will be played over the intercom as they wave home-made or regular flags. Veterans will do a formal salute.
Dress-Up Event: Faculty, staff and students will wear red, white, or blue shirts and blue jeans.
“No Clowning Around..... Getting A Good Education!” Day
Dress-Up Event: CLOWN DAY!!! Students will dress up like clowns.
(Winners will be judged!)
“Book Pageant Social”/ Readers Are Leaders
Dress-Up Event: Students will dress up like a character from their favorite book.
Only students who have the actual book with them and are dressed like the character will participate in the book pageant social in the library at 9:00am.
(Students will be photographed and given a treat for participation.)
Readers Are Leaders: Volunteers will read a story to each class in grades Pre-K-5 at
the assigned times.
“Going Bananas Over Our Famous Faculty & Staff Day”
Dress-Up Event: Students will wear yellow clothing….yellow shirts, shoes, hats, etc.
Donation: Parents will donate bananas in appreciation for faculty and staff. (Please send bananas on Wednesday.) The staff will be served banana pudding and/or bananas at lunch time.
“Education Is Our Weapon” Assembly
Pre-K-2 9:00-9:45am 3rd- 5th Grade 9:45-10:30am
Students will present a short skit and program……

We will HONOR ALL OF OUR ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY AND VETERANS during the assembly!
This Week’s Competitive Events
 Pre-K – 2nd Grade: Coloring Contest
 3rd- 5th Grade: “My School is Cool” Mural (Students will use only INDIVIDUAL words on mural to explain why Deer Chase is a cool school.)
A winner from each grade level will receive a prize.
