Gained 10% shareholding in now a chain of retail stores and manufacturing
plant.
During the period 1997 to 2008 the company experienced huge growth, this further put
pressure on my position to be streamlined and I moved into a senior management
position and the Directorship in 1999.
South African Government implemented many changes in the labor sectors that we had
to comply with. I received further training in Human Resources and Labor Relations.
During that period it became necessary to construct and implement an Employment
Equity Plan. A full analysis of our labor force was done and an ongoing plan on human
development put in place. This document is reported on annually give statistics of
complete black empowerment and equality matters. I have been in control of the whole
process
Financial statements, budgets, cash flow projections and monthly management figures for
all 11 branches are prepared by myself for presentation to Board of Directors and Senior
Management
Targets / goal setting and annual appraisals for Senior and Middle management.
Overseeing that the same process is followed down to supervisory and labor levels. We
now have a staff compliment of over 500.
Complete maintenance of loan accounts, bank accounts, debtor & creditor control
accounts

I moved to Mauritius and flew back to Cape Town for 1 week a month to close off the figures.

Maxistar started experiencing huge financial problems during 2013 / 2016 periods and with
the removal of 2 of the directors started looking for possible investors to get the business
back on its feet.
At this point I was tasked with putting together numerous “scenarios” for several different
potential investors. There was a fair amount of interest, unfortunately before any final
decision was made, the Landlord became impatient and has forced liquidation.
