NASA has successfully hosted multiple in-person social media events, referred to as #NASA socials, providing unique access and experiences at various centers. The first-ever multi-center #NASA social connected seven facilities on August 3, 2012, allowing for widespread engagement and generating an estimated 9,750 tweets with a potential reach of 58 million. The event and its related activities garnered extensive social media interaction, with nearly 375,000 tweets and a reach of 1.2 billion impressions during the week surrounding the Mars Curiosity landing.
