Narrative On Drowning
Have you ever did something you thought you couldn't do? ''I'm going to drown if I get in the water,'' I said as Katie pulled me onto the steps of
the pool. ''You have to breath and kick your feet while stroking with your arms,'' said Katie. Katie is my awesome swim teacher at the YMCA. I
already have my floating down, but I was just scared of drowning. Katie had an assistant named Amy who was going to teach me how to relax. One
day, Katie was running late to class so Amy had to begin teaching. Amy held my torso tightly while I kicked my feet and stroked my arms. Then, I
started to panic and drown. Soon, I got really sad after Amy took me out of the pool and I thought about how I would never learn how to swim. Then,
Katie arrived and sat

Personal Narrative Essay On Overcoming Obstacles
Out of my 35yrs of life I have ovecame so many obstacles. Being a struggling single parent, and just not satisified with how my life was going there
are so many that I can talk about but these three where my biggest obstacles. But with my praying family I was against all odds. As I mention in my
dicussion questin being a single mother was not an easy task. I was 21 a college student when I a gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. I had no clue on
how to raise a child. I cried several of nights question myself why is this happening to me? Is it because I had a child out of wued my wedlock? I
then begin to think, if that was the case it will be more people just then myself stuggling with no help. I cried and prayed many of nights. Finally I stop

Personal Narrative Essay About Immigration
Opportunities It was late 1960's and it was a huge deal for someone to leave their whole life , to abandon the house the individual lived in for so
long. It's just like starting your life all over again at a new place, in a new house, with new friends, with another language. It's not easy to do that but
sometimes that is required to do if you want to guarantee your family to have a better future. This is personal story of a person , but their name is
going to stay confidential. Like I said it was the 1960's and all everyone was talking about was how great America is. Many people immigrated from
Bulgaria at that time so it wasn't anything new. The individual came to US because they wanted to find new opportunities for a better life....show more

At a time they used a VISA, but they applied for a passport later on. It wasn't easy there were a bunch of papers that had to be filled in and it took
at least 1 year. At first when the individual arrived it felt like she was on another planet. The system, the laws, the way things were done, etc... was
divergent. The biggest problem for most immigrants was that they didn't speak the language barrier just like the woman I interviewed. Put yourself
in that place. Without knowing the language you can't buy a phone, order food, or even ask where the bathroom is! It's honestly difficult and I am
speaking from personal experience except in my case I had a lot of people that helped me out with that problem. Second most important problem was
finding a place to live. After that woman had put all of her money into the trip, she didn't have enough to rent an apartment or live together with other
people. Luckily for her, she had relatives in Arkansas so she moved in with them. Third hardest part was not knowing where anything is located. In
Bulgaria the cities are pretty small compared to the cities here. The cities there are even smaller than the suburbs.Over there

One of my favorite places to go as a child was to the reservoir with my family. We would start packing a few days before we left, my brother's and I
would go to school on a Friday than afterward we would go camping. Every time I would hurry home because I was ready to go camping. When I was
little I felt like my family and I went camping every day even though we didn't. I have many memories of camping that are hilarious to talk about. I
love to go camping because you can smell the lake, or you can start a fire which smells amazing. Waking up in the morning unzipping thetent and
getting out to be able to see the forests is such a beautiful site. Sometimes my brother and I will sit in the woods on trees to watch boats and jet
skis go by. While you are falling asleep, you hear animals like coyotes or if someone had dogs you can hear them. When I wake up in the morning
to the birds chirping it sounds amazing. Waking up in the morning when my mom is in the middle of cooking potatoes, eggs, and sausage for
breakfast you would be able to smell it, it was the best smell to wake up to in the morning. She would make hot cocoa, which made it ten times better.
Some days my family and I would go fishing in the daytime, one or two times while we were camping we would go fishing at night till 3:00
sometimes earlier. If my brother and I were bored we would go into a forest and play games such as hide and go seek, or tag. I know I few times my
brother and I would build forts out of

Why does everyone leave?
Seeing your parents apart and not getting along when they're together is hard for most kids specially when you're 8 years old and you don't know
what's coming next. The day my parents got divorced changed my perception of what a normal family was.
Having my dad around all the time wasn't my everyday routine. I'd see him once or twice a week so I wasn't very much used to see him every day.
One day I came home after school and he and my mom were on the balcony talking, the notice I was staring, they both looked at me and called for a
family meeting by the tone of their voices I could tell there was...show more content...
According to the doctor the pollution had affected his eyes. He had always lived on the beach and his body never got used to the city.
I knew my life was going to change completely, I wouldn't see him every day. Who would I cry out for help when my mom gets angry?
Everything was about to change, we wouldn't order take–out on Sundays, it was a big deal, I was losing my best friend, the only father figure I have
ever had so far. I watched him taking all of his stuff out of the apartment, I was getting more and more mad. Wasn't our beautiful relationship enough
to make him stay? I even blame myself I thought I had done something wrong, maybe wearing his clothes and leaving them all messy, I apologize and
swear not to do it again, but it didn't matter the decision was already made.
I stared at him and yelled "if you don't love me anymore go ahead leave, I don't need you" there were tears on our faces, I jumped into my bed and
cried myself to sleep.
I realized there was nothing else to be done, he was not my father and I was sure I'd see him someday, he wouldn't stop loving me, and we would
always have the memories of the brief time we shared our lives. He made the best out of my childhood.

Growing up with a father that was never around and a father figure that also left was hard, but it taught me that I don't need a father to rely on. I have

Narrative Essay On Anxiety
I was officially diagnosed with Anxiety this summer, 2016. Since I was little my parents claim they knew I had it. My parents would tell you my
mood swings would be out of control. When something would go astray my mood would shift. Shift to almost a three year old having a meltdown.
The crying, creaming, hyperventilating, shaking, the world seemed it was ending in my eyes. Many times if you were to ask me why I was
behaving as such I couldn't tell you. Losing sight to what the initial issue was. I was go to bed after, my parents telling my I need a nap. I would
crawl into bed, the familiar sent of the linen sheets, calming me down. I would wake up from my na being completely refreshed. The mood swing
would be over, or otherwise known as the manic low.

I did it for fun and loved it, just like nay other college student. But than I discovered "self medicating" in a sense. I did a ton of research and I started
smoking to help with my anxiety. I discovered a medicine that helped me.
I found the right amount to smoke to help me daily and I found more of my triggers and how to handle them. I know I need structure. I started
smoking every night. Because at night my thoughts being to race and my anxiety starts to spike. So every night I would smoke after a month of
doing so I learned that my anxiety went way down. After three months, my friends started noticing that my anxiety "went away". Since than living
with anxiety has been doable for me. I feel I can manage it. I feel I have control over my anxiety. My grades went up because I was able to focus on
school and not anxiety. My friends and I created a closer bond because once again I was able to focus on us and not the anxiety. Everything was
becoming clear to me. Everyone has their own way of handling anxiety. Medications world for some vs others like me, it made it worse. However I
found my solution for anxiety. I found what worked for

Narrative Essay About A Earthquake
Have you ever woken up to see half your house gone? Or everything in your house destroyed? I have. I'm Jose age 15 and I live in Mexico. That
day wasn't like a regular day. We heard there was going to be a huge earthquake and that everyone had to leave. Although a lot of people were
leaving, my family didn't have enough money to leave. That day I woke to everything shaking, I was confused. I jumped out of bed and ran to get
my sister 7 years old and my mom. My dad had died when I was two. My mom said he had died in a car crash. But, I can tell that she was lying. I
never questioned her. So I ran to my sister's room avoiding falling things. I ran into her room and picked her up and didn't bother to wake her. I ran
with her on my shoulders to my mom's room. I woke up my mom because I couldn't carry. "Mom, wake up," I said shaking her. She woke up
confused. So I pulled her along. We ran outside into chaos. People running around all crazy. After a few minutes, the earthquake stopped. I asked
my mom if she was ok. "Yes, Jose. Thank you for getting your sister and acting so quickly." My mom replied. I look back at the destroyed house.
"Mama, I'm going to check on the other people." and I went to the old lady Coco's house down the street to check on her. "Coco! Coco!" I yelled. In
a raspy voice, I hear the old woman reply "Here, here." I go through the empty doorway with the door on the ground. In the house, I saw her pictures on

Being Belittled-Personal Narrative
Being belittled is not only done by people with power, friends strangers and so on, one's own family can become the belittlers. I grew up with some
of the worst role models; my parents always fought verbally and physically, blaming me and my brothers for their disputes. After my parents got
divorced, my mother blamed all her troubles on me, saying it was my fault these things had happened even though I was merely 10. I grew up with
the belief that all the bad things that had happened in my life were really my fault and in order to make my life better I would have to work
extremely hard to have a better future. As I grew older, I continued fighting these low expectations imposed on me by myfamily and people from
school. I was marked as gifted

How To Write A Personal Narrative Essay
Hi I'm Paige and if you had told me last year I'd be in Office Administration I would've said, "no way, not even close". That's one of those jobs
requiring you to be cool calm and collected. The atmospheres are peaceful and then people work constantly. It's the opposite of my desired
profession and personality. I'm the opposite of my career, or well it was until I met my instructor, Miss Young. She changed my mind about how I
perceived the trade and what I could do with the skills once I completed. Was very instrumental in helping me obtain the necessary skills to make
the most money in the field of Office work. I managed to get my typing up to the speed of over 60 words per minute. I learned all the processes of
Windows Operating Systems, I even got a glimpse of Windows 10. Using...show more content...
I loved learning. Data entry was a breeze for me as was all the other work in Office Administration because you just get projects and assignments,
follow the directions was simple, and get it done. Again, Ms. Young did her job well. Whether in a large office space separated by cubicles, or a
nice private office, I'm certain that I can raise to the occasion and do well for myself. Passing the certification will be easy. I was excited that
completing my trade only took me4 months. The next decision was to decide what I was going to pursue with my completion and certification. I
have options depending upon the level I'm seeking to achieve, there are quite a few. The amount of words you type and keyboarding skills make a
difference. I can type 50wpm. Office positions are wide open all over the country, depending upon your skill level, they're not isolated to a high–rise
building filled with windows in a 4,000 square foot space of cubicles. Very large companies such as Ashley Furniture, Office Depot, Walmart, and
Luxury Car Dealerships like Mercedes and Lexus have teams of Administrative staff. They are the backbone of a

Beauty in Nature Personal Narrative
"Beauty in Nature" It was cold, dark, and quiet, and I was having the time of my life. As I was lying on my cot on that little beach at the bottom of
the Grand Canyon, I started to relive the whole experience from start to finish and I suddenly relized how fortunate I was to have this experience.
It all started in the beginning of January 2010. For my sixteenth birthday, my grandparents said that I could pick anything I wanted to do, anywhere
in the country, and they would pay for my Dad, my Grandpa, and I to go. After a few weeks of indecision (I had so many ideas that I couldn't
decide) my Grandpa called me and told me that he had asked a travel agent for ideas. She informed him of a trip that consisted of visiting the city of Las

I was so excited that I could barely sleep that night. Six o'clock came around very fast and we started off our adventure in the same car with a broken
air conditioner. With most of the day spent on planes (two hours from Charlotte to Atlanta and then another eight hours to Las Vegas). When we arrived
in Vegas, the first thing that caught my attention were the slot machines, they were everywhere. The next thing that caught my eye was the view out
the window. I could see the city, the crown jewel of which was the giant black pyramidhotel called the Luxor. All around the city I could see
mountains, but these were not the same kind of mountains that I was used to seeing in the upstate of South Carolina. These mountains were rocky with
no trees. I could even see ice on the top of one of them even though it was about ninety–five degrees outside. After hailing a taxi, we were on our way
to the hotel. I was amazed at how large the city was, eight lane streets, billboards higher than any building in Charleston, and people everywhere.
About ten minutes later, we reached our hotel, The Desert Rose. While not on the strip, The Desert Rose was a quaint quaint little hotel, very
different than the extravagant hotels that I saw on the cab ride. After checking in , we tiredly made our way to our room, where to our dismay, the
electronic card reader was broken. A short wait later, we were in a nice, comfortable room where we relaxed

I was packing for my trip to England! I was the most excited I had ever been! I had wanted to visit London, England ever since I knew what it was.
I was ecstatic that I had won a trip from J.K. Rowling, the author of books that I had cherished since 2nd grade, and I couldn't wait to spend days
with my aunt, the person that read the books to me and was one of the best people I knew. An all expense paid trip with one of my favorite people
to a destination I dreamed of ever since I could talk was unimaginable and yet, it was about to happen! My aunt Lindsay arrived on Wednesday
morning. "Are you ready for the best thing ever?" She already knew the answer but I smiled brightly, assuring both of us that we were about to have
the best time of our lives. I wheeled my overpacked suitcase outside and put it in my grandma's trunk. Once my grandma dropped us off at the airport
around 8:00 a.m. Lindsay and I enjoyed our overpriced starbucks coffee as we fantasized about the amazing things about to occur. We boarded the
plane and headed off on our 10 hour flight to London. The only solution we could find to fill this 10 hour time frame was a Harry Potter movie
marathon. We watched movies until our eyes hurt. We were halfway through the 5th movie when our plane landed in the London City Airport around
8 p.m. which was midnight London time. We took a taxi to our hotel and I gazed out the grimy window at the beautiful city that I had only seen
pictures of before. When we got to our room at the Shangri–La Hotel we were welcomed with more breathtaking views of the London skyline. We fell
asleep quickly. I found it ironic how tired a day of doing virtually nothing could make you feel. The next day I woke up to an alarm at 11:00. The
four hour time difference was going to take some time to adjust to. Lindsay and I ordered some room service breakfast. It was some of the best
french toast I had ever had. We got ourselves ready and we were headed out of the hotel to begin our first full–day in London! Our first stop on the trip
was to the Covent Garden District, a shopping center in London. My aunt was telling me that the square was designed by Inigo Jones and in 1661 a
small market was introduced. The market was

Narrative: a Memorable Event. Essay
Narrative: A memorable event.
I woke to my body jittering with anxiety. It was 7 o'clock on a Saturday morning, and it was the day that I had been awaiting for. I was almost ready
when my Dad shouted '' Ya betta get ya'self moving Kertesha, we're gonna be late!''.
I paused, and took one last look at myself in the mirror. My hair was scraped back, my polo necked fleece was suffocating and itchy, my black ribbed
jodhpurs were tight around my midriff, but there was one thing missing. It was one thing which all the girls on the internet, in the movies, and in all the
equestrian magazines had – A gilet. Mine was a pink Abercrombie & Fitch one, with ribbed salmon trims around the waistband and collar; it was

Although the smell of the manure was strong, over time I began to appreciate it, and so it became more of an aroma, than an odour. But this is
something my Dad never seemed to get used, to let alone appreciate. The entire stable had a rather odd smell; it was a mixture of hay, cut grass, dust,
manure, and oddly, a hint of leather. This was a smell which I soon became very fond of.
There were six of us in the group, we were all new to Dulwhich Riding School and filled with enthusiasm. After being handed our riding hats, we were
alphabetically permitted to choose a horse, and as always, I was last in the alphabet. I was left with a choice of two, one was a blue roan filly. She
was a young slate coloured horse who reminded me of Eeyore (from Winnie the Pooh), and was also a lot smaller than the other horses. Then I saw
the attractive sorrel coloured gelding, he stood glaring at me with his head poking out of the barn gate. His mane was dark and silky, and he had a
striking white birthmark on the bridge of his nose. I had an instant connection with him, and proclaimed his name as Cashmere.
As I lead Cashmere towards the indoor riding arena, my heart raced. The inconsistent sound hoofs trotting along the cobbled ground were intensifying.
As I stroked Cashmere's muzzle and gave him a mint polo (he's favourites), I began to mentally prepared myself to mount, and ride him.

to his room. "Good night then," croaked Billy. The Landlady closely followed as he stepped through the doorway. There the dame stood, silently
staring at Billy while he positioned himself on the bed. "So," said Billy with a turn of his head, "there aren't any other blokes or dames

The mornings in our tribe have always been the most peaceful part of the day, therefore the moment I opened my eyes and heard the commotion

day our enemy tribe has chosen to cause an onslaught; the day I've been preparing for since the day I was born. I step out, ready to fight, but I see
nothing else than a crowd of people violently whispering to themselves. I don't care to drop my weapon, but rush to the area of interest. As I get
closer, I not only see a vibrant white, but I hear a tongue that sparks my interest as it has sure caught the attention of many others. I push past my
people and without realizing what I did, I find myself standing in front of what I can only describe as a god. The looks of this man/creature scare me,

one vigorous sound resonates through each of our bodies, somehow like an explosion. The gods laugh among themselves, not unaware, but not

My mom always said, " Follow your heart, even though it might not be accurate." Self–reliance is when a person leads his or herself onto an adventure
independently. Everyone should choose what he or she thinks is right, and stick to that decision. Self–reliance can be shown with leadership skills,
showing responsibility independently, and making wise decisions.
First and foremost, leadership is showing skills of being the person who has everything under control. Being a leader is not simple, but being set
into that position is knowing what to do and how to do it. Leadership is knowing the craft and leading others into the right path. I was the leader
for the organization of a birthday party. I started by knowing what goes where, and making sure everyone else knew his or her job. Once the party
had started, I made sure that I knew the order of events for the night. I was prepared and organized, so it made the party go smoother. I led everyone
into knowing his or her job in the time of need. When leading an event, being prepared and having everything under control leads to better outcome.
Leadership is something you learn and strive to succeed. Once someone takes the role of a leader, his or her skills will be put to the test any given
time. With preparation and organization leading will be so much easier and convenient.
Moreover, independence is taking responsibility of any independent decision. Independence starts by doing all task by yourself. Independence will

Essay on Narrative Therapy
Abstract
This paper will look at the logic of narrative therapy by focusing on 5 major points. This paper will begin by discussing how the narrative approach
defines and perceives problems. It will address how narrative therapy views the nature of the relationship between the client and the professional. This
paper will look at how problems are solved using the narrative approach. It will also focus on three main techniques used in narrative therapy, which
will include externalization, deconstruction and re–authoring. This paper will also include a short narrative critique of the medical model. The Logic of

According to Kelley (1996) this process is recommended by narrative therapists because it allows the client to begin to see where the discourse
emerged from. The therapist must first just listen to the story and determine what the client sees as the existing problem (Kelley, 1996). Then the
therapist begins to ask questions with the intention of bringing forth the full meaning of the problem (Kelley, 1996). In deconstruction the therapist
searches for answers as to who all is involved with the problem, what past events lead up to the problem development, how the problem changed over
time, how the client has been fighting the problem thus far and how the problem is affecting the client's life (Kelley, 1996).
Kelley (1996) reported that after the therapist has a full understanding of the problem the deconstruction phase moves on to its second stage. The
therapist and the client begin working together to break down the prevailing story in order to map the influence the problem is having on the client's
life (Kelley, 1996). Mapping the effect of the problem is particularly important because it lays the foundation of the new story line (Monk, Winslade,
Crocket & Epston, 1997). According to Monk, Winslade, Crocket & Epston (1997) typically when the effect of the problem is discussed with the
client they begin to feel as if their story has been heard. They

At this point in my life I find myself in an interesting predicament regarding my attitudes toward reading and writing; more so towards reading.
Years ago I used to love reading books for pleasure but nowadays I find myself reading things that little to no effort to digest. This includes the very
basic posts on facebook expressing one's opinion on something or articles and threads on reddit discussing topics I find intriguing. Perhaps it's the
severe senioritis that has overcome me as I enter my last semester at Chapman University. As I've gotten lazier I can see it start to reflect in my

You can feed the mind as much as you want and it will never get full of reading. Sadly, I'm not the same person that I was. I guess you could say it's
part of growing up. It never really was intentional but it's just the way how it ended up. On the other hand my attitudes toward writing are very
different. First let me say that deep down I truly do not like to write. I myself don't personally like to write for leisure or pleasure but rather I write
because I believe it is one of the most important aspects of being able to communicate with those around you, both personally and professionally.
To put differently, my attitude towards writing is that I write because I need to write and survive in the world around me. I write because I have
to, not because I want to. Hopefully this somewhat makes sense. To better explain let me make a comparison. When I am assigned a writing
assignment or I am writing because the action is being forced upon me I find myself not enjoying the process and overall the end result is subpar.
The perfect example of this would be my junior year in high school when I was enrolled in AP english literature. I dreaded the majority of the class
simply because there was so much writing involved in the entire course and therefore I was constantly writing just to get a grade. Being forced to
write in such high volume every week for an entire school year was not enjoyable for myself and as a result the

Personal Narrative Essay : A Trip To The Beach
It's a very warm typical July day. There is a big hurricane in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. I can guarantee that there are so many people going to
the beach. After Joey thought that he grabbed his necklace off his nightstand and put it around his neck and held the cross for a few seconds more than
he usually does everyday.
"Cole let's go to the beach, the waves are like 7 to 8 feet!" Joey exclaimed to Cole over the text. Joey rode his bike over to Cole's house.
"Joey I'm asking my dad to drive us to the beach I don't want to ride my bike." Joey looks at the waves and gets scared.
"Dude, where are we going to put our things it's packed?"
Cole unpacked the bags with the boards in them. Joey and Cole went to the shore to get their fins and fin socks on. Joey got his fins on first and
started to paddle out. The current was insane. Cole was following Joey out to where the waves were starting to form. Joey got a nice wave and had a
barrel. The current was so strong that Joey had an idea. His idea was to go on the right side of the jetty and tried to get pulled to the left and land
where everyone else is. Cole told him before they went to the beach because he knew that there was a current. It was not a good idea because if a
wave came, he could get smashed into it. Joey was not acting smart, so he decided to not listen to Cole. Joey walked over to the left side of the jetty.
"Cole are you, coming?" Joey exclaimed.
Cole just ignored Joey. Joey was so excited because he

Narrative On Drowning

  • 1. Narrative On Drowning Have you ever did something you thought you couldn't do? ''I'm going to drown if I get in the water,'' I said as Katie pulled me onto the steps of the pool. ''You have to breath and kick your feet while stroking with your arms,'' said Katie. Katie is my awesome swim teacher at the YMCA. I already have my floating down, but I was just scared of drowning. Katie had an assistant named Amy who was going to teach me how to relax. One day, Katie was running late to class so Amy had to begin teaching. Amy held my torso tightly while I kicked my feet and stroked my arms. Then, I started to panic and drown. Soon, I got really sad after Amy took me out of the pool and I thought about how I would never learn how to swim. Then, Katie arrived and sat Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Personal Narrative Essay On Overcoming Obstacles Out of my 35yrs of life I have ovecame so many obstacles. Being a struggling single parent, and just not satisified with how my life was going there are so many that I can talk about but these three where my biggest obstacles. But with my praying family I was against all odds. As I mention in my dicussion questin being a single mother was not an easy task. I was 21 a college student when I a gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. I had no clue on how to raise a child. I cried several of nights question myself why is this happening to me? Is it because I had a child out of wued my wedlock? I then begin to think, if that was the case it will be more people just then myself stuggling with no help. I cried and prayed many of nights. Finally I stop Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Personal Narrative Essay About Immigration Opportunities It was late 1960's and it was a huge deal for someone to leave their whole life , to abandon the house the individual lived in for so long. It's just like starting your life all over again at a new place, in a new house, with new friends, with another language. It's not easy to do that but sometimes that is required to do if you want to guarantee your family to have a better future. This is personal story of a person , but their name is going to stay confidential. Like I said it was the 1960's and all everyone was talking about was how great America is. Many people immigrated from Bulgaria at that time so it wasn't anything new. The individual came to US because they wanted to find new opportunities for a better life....show more content... At a time they used a VISA, but they applied for a passport later on. It wasn't easy there were a bunch of papers that had to be filled in and it took at least 1 year. At first when the individual arrived it felt like she was on another planet. The system, the laws, the way things were done, etc... was divergent. The biggest problem for most immigrants was that they didn't speak the language barrier just like the woman I interviewed. Put yourself in that place. Without knowing the language you can't buy a phone, order food, or even ask where the bathroom is! It's honestly difficult and I am speaking from personal experience except in my case I had a lot of people that helped me out with that problem. Second most important problem was finding a place to live. After that woman had put all of her money into the trip, she didn't have enough to rent an apartment or live together with other people. Luckily for her, she had relatives in Arkansas so she moved in with them. Third hardest part was not knowing where anything is located. In Bulgaria the cities are pretty small compared to the cities here. The cities there are even smaller than the suburbs.Over there Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. One of my favorite places to go as a child was to the reservoir with my family. We would start packing a few days before we left, my brother's and I would go to school on a Friday than afterward we would go camping. Every time I would hurry home because I was ready to go camping. When I was little I felt like my family and I went camping every day even though we didn't. I have many memories of camping that are hilarious to talk about. I love to go camping because you can smell the lake, or you can start a fire which smells amazing. Waking up in the morning unzipping thetent and getting out to be able to see the forests is such a beautiful site. Sometimes my brother and I will sit in the woods on trees to watch boats and jet skis go by. While you are falling asleep, you hear animals like coyotes or if someone had dogs you can hear them. When I wake up in the morning to the birds chirping it sounds amazing. Waking up in the morning when my mom is in the middle of cooking potatoes, eggs, and sausage for breakfast you would be able to smell it, it was the best smell to wake up to in the morning. She would make hot cocoa, which made it ten times better. Some days my family and I would go fishing in the daytime, one or two times while we were camping we would go fishing at night till 3:00 sometimes earlier. If my brother and I were bored we would go into a forest and play games such as hide and go seek, or tag. I know I few times my brother and I would build forts out of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Family Narrative Essay Cervantes I Cervantes Higuera Jessica University of the Incarnate Word English Composition I Draft #1 Why does everyone leave? Seeing your parents apart and not getting along when they're together is hard for most kids specially when you're 8 years old and you don't know what's coming next. The day my parents got divorced changed my perception of what a normal family was. Having my dad around all the time wasn't my everyday routine. I'd see him once or twice a week so I wasn't very much used to see him every day. One day I came home after school and he and my mom were on the balcony talking, the notice I was staring, they both looked at me and called for a family meeting by the tone of their voices I could tell there was...show more content... According to the doctor the pollution had affected his eyes. He had always lived on the beach and his body never got used to the city. I knew my life was going to change completely, I wouldn't see him every day. Who would I cry out for help when my mom gets angry? Everything was about to change, we wouldn't order take–out on Sundays, it was a big deal, I was losing my best friend, the only father figure I have ever had so far. I watched him taking all of his stuff out of the apartment, I was getting more and more mad. Wasn't our beautiful relationship enough to make him stay? I even blame myself I thought I had done something wrong, maybe wearing his clothes and leaving them all messy, I apologize and swear not to do it again, but it didn't matter the decision was already made. I stared at him and yelled "if you don't love me anymore go ahead leave, I don't need you" there were tears on our faces, I jumped into my bed and cried myself to sleep. I realized there was nothing else to be done, he was not my father and I was sure I'd see him someday, he wouldn't stop loving me, and we would always have the memories of the brief time we shared our lives. He made the best out of my childhood. Cervantes III Growing up with a father that was never around and a father figure that also left was hard, but it taught me that I don't need a father to rely on. I have myself and my mom, and as long as I don't forget who I am I

  • 7. Narrative Essay On Anxiety I was officially diagnosed with Anxiety this summer, 2016. Since I was little my parents claim they knew I had it. My parents would tell you my mood swings would be out of control. When something would go astray my mood would shift. Shift to almost a three year old having a meltdown. The crying, creaming, hyperventilating, shaking, the world seemed it was ending in my eyes. Many times if you were to ask me why I was behaving as such I couldn't tell you. Losing sight to what the initial issue was. I was go to bed after, my parents telling my I need a nap. I would crawl into bed, the familiar sent of the linen sheets, calming me down. I would wake up from my na being completely refreshed. The mood swing would be over, or otherwise known as the manic low. Having anxiety...show more content... I did it for fun and loved it, just like nay other college student. But than I discovered "self medicating" in a sense. I did a ton of research and I started smoking to help with my anxiety. I discovered a medicine that helped me. I found the right amount to smoke to help me daily and I found more of my triggers and how to handle them. I know I need structure. I started smoking every night. Because at night my thoughts being to race and my anxiety starts to spike. So every night I would smoke after a month of doing so I learned that my anxiety went way down. After three months, my friends started noticing that my anxiety "went away". Since than living with anxiety has been doable for me. I feel I can manage it. I feel I have control over my anxiety. My grades went up because I was able to focus on school and not anxiety. My friends and I created a closer bond because once again I was able to focus on us and not the anxiety. Everything was becoming clear to me. Everyone has their own way of handling anxiety. Medications world for some vs others like me, it made it worse. However I found my solution for anxiety. I found what worked for Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Narrative Essay About A Earthquake Have you ever woken up to see half your house gone? Or everything in your house destroyed? I have. I'm Jose age 15 and I live in Mexico. That day wasn't like a regular day. We heard there was going to be a huge earthquake and that everyone had to leave. Although a lot of people were leaving, my family didn't have enough money to leave. That day I woke to everything shaking, I was confused. I jumped out of bed and ran to get my sister 7 years old and my mom. My dad had died when I was two. My mom said he had died in a car crash. But, I can tell that she was lying. I never questioned her. So I ran to my sister's room avoiding falling things. I ran into her room and picked her up and didn't bother to wake her. I ran with her on my shoulders to my mom's room. I woke up my mom because I couldn't carry. "Mom, wake up," I said shaking her. She woke up confused. So I pulled her along. We ran outside into chaos. People running around all crazy. After a few minutes, the earthquake stopped. I asked my mom if she was ok. "Yes, Jose. Thank you for getting your sister and acting so quickly." My mom replied. I look back at the destroyed house. "Mama, I'm going to check on the other people." and I went to the old lady Coco's house down the street to check on her. "Coco! Coco!" I yelled. In a raspy voice, I hear the old woman reply "Here, here." I go through the empty doorway with the door on the ground. In the house, I saw her pictures on the ground and the walls crumbled Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Being Belittled-Personal Narrative Being belittled is not only done by people with power, friends strangers and so on, one's own family can become the belittlers. I grew up with some of the worst role models; my parents always fought verbally and physically, blaming me and my brothers for their disputes. After my parents got divorced, my mother blamed all her troubles on me, saying it was my fault these things had happened even though I was merely 10. I grew up with the belief that all the bad things that had happened in my life were really my fault and in order to make my life better I would have to work extremely hard to have a better future. As I grew older, I continued fighting these low expectations imposed on me by myfamily and people from school. I was marked as gifted Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. How To Write A Personal Narrative Essay Hi I'm Paige and if you had told me last year I'd be in Office Administration I would've said, "no way, not even close". That's one of those jobs requiring you to be cool calm and collected. The atmospheres are peaceful and then people work constantly. It's the opposite of my desired profession and personality. I'm the opposite of my career, or well it was until I met my instructor, Miss Young. She changed my mind about how I perceived the trade and what I could do with the skills once I completed. Was very instrumental in helping me obtain the necessary skills to make the most money in the field of Office work. I managed to get my typing up to the speed of over 60 words per minute. I learned all the processes of Windows Operating Systems, I even got a glimpse of Windows 10. Using...show more content... I loved learning. Data entry was a breeze for me as was all the other work in Office Administration because you just get projects and assignments, follow the directions was simple, and get it done. Again, Ms. Young did her job well. Whether in a large office space separated by cubicles, or a nice private office, I'm certain that I can raise to the occasion and do well for myself. Passing the certification will be easy. I was excited that completing my trade only took me4 months. The next decision was to decide what I was going to pursue with my completion and certification. I have options depending upon the level I'm seeking to achieve, there are quite a few. The amount of words you type and keyboarding skills make a difference. I can type 50wpm. Office positions are wide open all over the country, depending upon your skill level, they're not isolated to a high–rise building filled with windows in a 4,000 square foot space of cubicles. Very large companies such as Ashley Furniture, Office Depot, Walmart, and Luxury Car Dealerships like Mercedes and Lexus have teams of Administrative staff. • 11. Beauty in Nature Personal Narrative "Beauty in Nature" It was cold, dark, and quiet, and I was having the time of my life. As I was lying on my cot on that little beach at the bottom of the Grand Canyon, I started to relive the whole experience from start to finish and I suddenly relized how fortunate I was to have this experience. It all started in the beginning of January 2010. For my sixteenth birthday, my grandparents said that I could pick anything I wanted to do, anywhere in the country, and they would pay for my Dad, my Grandpa, and I to go. After a few weeks of indecision (I had so many ideas that I couldn't decide) my Grandpa called me and told me that he had asked a travel agent for ideas. She informed him of a trip that consisted of visiting the city of Las ...show more content... I was so excited that I could barely sleep that night. Six o'clock came around very fast and we started off our adventure in the same car with a broken air conditioner. With most of the day spent on planes (two hours from Charlotte to Atlanta and then another eight hours to Las Vegas). When we arrived in Vegas, the first thing that caught my attention were the slot machines, they were everywhere. The next thing that caught my eye was the view out the window. I could see the city, the crown jewel of which was the giant black pyramidhotel called the Luxor. All around the city I could see mountains, but these were not the same kind of mountains that I was used to seeing in the upstate of South Carolina. These mountains were rocky with no trees. I could even see ice on the top of one of them even though it was about ninety–five degrees outside. After hailing a taxi, we were on our way to the hotel. I was amazed at how large the city was, eight lane streets, billboards higher than any building in Charleston, and people everywhere. About ten minutes later, we reached our hotel, The Desert Rose. While not on the strip, The Desert Rose was a quaint quaint little hotel, very different than the extravagant hotels that I saw on the cab ride. After checking in , we tiredly made our way to our room, where to our dismay, the electronic card reader was broken. A short wait later, we were in a nice, comfortable room where we relaxed Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. I was packing for my trip to England! I was the most excited I had ever been! I had wanted to visit London, England ever since I knew what it was. I was ecstatic that I had won a trip from J.K. Rowling, the author of books that I had cherished since 2nd grade, and I couldn't wait to spend days with my aunt, the person that read the books to me and was one of the best people I knew. An all expense paid trip with one of my favorite people to a destination I dreamed of ever since I could talk was unimaginable and yet, it was about to happen! My aunt Lindsay arrived on Wednesday morning. "Are you ready for the best thing ever?" She already knew the answer but I smiled brightly, assuring both of us that we were about to have the best time of our lives. I wheeled my overpacked suitcase outside and put it in my grandma's trunk. Once my grandma dropped us off at the airport around 8:00 a.m. Lindsay and I enjoyed our overpriced starbucks coffee as we fantasized about the amazing things about to occur. We boarded the plane and headed off on our 10 hour flight to London. The only solution we could find to fill this 10 hour time frame was a Harry Potter movie marathon. We watched movies until our eyes hurt. We were halfway through the 5th movie when our plane landed in the London City Airport around 8 p.m. which was midnight London time. We took a taxi to our hotel and I gazed out the grimy window at the beautiful city that I had only seen pictures of before. When we got to our room at the Shangri–La Hotel we were welcomed with more breathtaking views of the London skyline. We fell asleep quickly. I found it ironic how tired a day of doing virtually nothing could make you feel. The next day I woke up to an alarm at 11:00. The four hour time difference was going to take some time to adjust to. Lindsay and I ordered some room service breakfast. It was some of the best french toast I had ever had. We got ourselves ready and we were headed out of the hotel to begin our first full–day in London! Our first stop on the trip was to the Covent Garden District, a shopping center in London. My aunt was telling me that the square was designed by Inigo Jones and in 1661 a small market was introduced. The market was Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Narrative: a Memorable Event. Essay Narrative: A memorable event. I woke to my body jittering with anxiety. It was 7 o'clock on a Saturday morning, and it was the day that I had been awaiting for. I was almost ready when my Dad shouted '' Ya betta get ya'self moving Kertesha, we're gonna be late!''. I paused, and took one last look at myself in the mirror. My hair was scraped back, my polo necked fleece was suffocating and itchy, my black ribbed jodhpurs were tight around my midriff, but there was one thing missing. It was one thing which all the girls on the internet, in the movies, and in all the equestrian magazines had – A gilet. Mine was a pink Abercrombie & Fitch one, with ribbed salmon trims around the waistband and collar; it was not a real equestrian gilet,...show more content... Although the smell of the manure was strong, over time I began to appreciate it, and so it became more of an aroma, than an odour. But this is something my Dad never seemed to get used, to let alone appreciate. The entire stable had a rather odd smell; it was a mixture of hay, cut grass, dust, manure, and oddly, a hint of leather. This was a smell which I soon became very fond of. There were six of us in the group, we were all new to Dulwhich Riding School and filled with enthusiasm. After being handed our riding hats, we were alphabetically permitted to choose a horse, and as always, I was last in the alphabet. I was left with a choice of two, one was a blue roan filly. She was a young slate coloured horse who reminded me of Eeyore (from Winnie the Pooh), and was also a lot smaller than the other horses. Then I saw the attractive sorrel coloured gelding, he stood glaring at me with his head poking out of the barn gate. His mane was dark and silky, and he had a striking white birthmark on the bridge of his nose. Cashmere was Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. The Landlady: A Narrative Essay "It'd be better if I go off to bed now," said Billy, briskly arising off the couch. He started scaling the stairs. Hazel swirls encompassed the entirety of each step his foot rested upon. The Landlady closely followed, frolicking impatiently with her red, darting fingernails and examining Billy's entire body. With each step Billy took, the staircase creaked and crackled like the fireplace downstairs. Briskly hopping off the last platform, Billy darted to his room. "Good night then," croaked Billy. The Landlady closely followed as he stepped through the doorway. There the dame stood, silently staring at Billy while he positioned himself on the bed. "So," said Billy with a turn of his head, "there aren't any other blokes or dames Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Injustice-Personal Narrative The mornings in our tribe have always been the most peaceful part of the day, therefore the moment I opened my eyes and heard the commotion coming from outside, I knew something was off. I prepare for the anticipated attack by grabbing the weapon closest to me, I believe today is the day our enemy tribe has chosen to cause an onslaught; the day I've been preparing for since the day I was born. I step out, ready to fight, but I see nothing else than a crowd of people violently whispering to themselves. I don't care to drop my weapon, but rush to the area of interest. As I get closer, I not only see a vibrant white, but I hear a tongue that sparks my interest as it has sure caught the attention of many others. I push past my people and without realizing what I did, I find myself standing in front of what I can only describe as a god. The looks of this man/creature scare me, for I have never in my 17 years of life, seen anything like him. White skin, short hair,...show more content... Did he come alone? They carry engrossing pieces of wood with metal, which can only make me wonder what they are for. I have realized they were now speaking to us, they all gaze at us as we do them. But not one word is being understood from either party. Suddenly, out of nowhere, one vigorous sound resonates through each of our bodies, somehow like an explosion. The gods laugh among themselves, not unaware, but not surprised by the sound, consequently giving away that the noise came from on of them. I then realize it came from one of the small wood things that I now realize are weapons; weapons with too much power. So much power, a bird fell from the sky. These men might not be gods, but fallen Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 17. My mom always said, " Follow your heart, even though it might not be accurate." Self–reliance is when a person leads his or herself onto an adventure independently. Everyone should choose what he or she thinks is right, and stick to that decision. Self–reliance can be shown with leadership skills, showing responsibility independently, and making wise decisions. First and foremost, leadership is showing skills of being the person who has everything under control. Being a leader is not simple, but being set into that position is knowing what to do and how to do it. Leadership is knowing the craft and leading others into the right path. I was the leader for the organization of a birthday party. I started by knowing what goes where, and making sure everyone else knew his or her job. Once the party had started, I made sure that I knew the order of events for the night. I was prepared and organized, so it made the party go smoother. I led everyone into knowing his or her job in the time of need. When leading an event, being prepared and having everything under control leads to better outcome. Leadership is something you learn and strive to succeed. Once someone takes the role of a leader, his or her skills will be put to the test any given time. With preparation and organization leading will be so much easier and convenient. Moreover, independence is taking responsibility of any independent decision. Independence starts by doing all task by yourself. Independence will show the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Essay on Narrative Therapy Abstract This paper will look at the logic of narrative therapy by focusing on 5 major points. This paper will begin by discussing how the narrative approach defines and perceives problems. It will address how narrative therapy views the nature of the relationship between the client and the professional. This paper will look at how problems are solved using the narrative approach. It will also focus on three main techniques used in narrative therapy, which will include externalization, deconstruction and re–authoring. This paper will also include a short narrative critique of the medical model. The Logic of Narrative Therapy Narrative therapy is considered postmodern due to the fact that it uses a story telling approach to...show more content... According to Kelley (1996) this process is recommended by narrative therapists because it allows the client to begin to see where the discourse emerged from. The therapist must first just listen to the story and determine what the client sees as the existing problem (Kelley, 1996). Then the therapist begins to ask questions with the intention of bringing forth the full meaning of the problem (Kelley, 1996). In deconstruction the therapist searches for answers as to who all is involved with the problem, what past events lead up to the problem development, how the problem changed over time, how the client has been fighting the problem thus far and how the problem is affecting the client's life (Kelley, 1996). Kelley (1996) reported that after the therapist has a full understanding of the problem the deconstruction phase moves on to its second stage. The therapist and the client begin working together to break down the prevailing story in order to map the influence the problem is having on the client's life (Kelley, 1996). Mapping the effect of the problem is particularly important because it lays the foundation of the new story line (Monk, Winslade, Crocket & Epston, 1997). According to Monk, Winslade, Crocket & Epston (1997) typically when the effect of the problem is discussed with the client they begin to feel as if their story has been heard. • 19. Literacy Narrative Essay example At this point in my life I find myself in an interesting predicament regarding my attitudes toward reading and writing; more so towards reading. Years ago I used to love reading books for pleasure but nowadays I find myself reading things that little to no effort to digest. This includes the very basic posts on facebook expressing one's opinion on something or articles and threads on reddit discussing topics I find intriguing. Perhaps it's the severe senioritis that has overcome me as I enter my last semester at Chapman University. As I've gotten lazier I can see it start to reflect in my everyday life. Deep down I still love to read but I rarely find myself getting truly invested into the action unless it relates to something I am very...show more content... You can feed the mind as much as you want and it will never get full of reading. Sadly, I'm not the same person that I was. I guess you could say it's part of growing up. It never really was intentional but it's just the way how it ended up. On the other hand my attitudes toward writing are very different. First let me say that deep down I truly do not like to write. I myself don't personally like to write for leisure or pleasure but rather I write because I believe it is one of the most important aspects of being able to communicate with those around you, both personally and professionally. To put differently, my attitude towards writing is that I write because I need to write and survive in the world around me. I write because I have to, not because I want to. Hopefully this somewhat makes sense. To better explain let me make a comparison. When I am assigned a writing assignment or I am writing because the action is being forced upon me I find myself not enjoying the process and overall the end result is subpar. The perfect example of this would be my junior year in high school when I was enrolled in AP english literature. I dreaded the majority of the class simply because there was so much writing involved in the entire course and therefore I was constantly writing just to get a grade. Being forced to write in such high volume every week for an entire school year was not enjoyable for myself and as a result the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Personal Narrative Essay : A Trip To The Beach It's a very warm typical July day. There is a big hurricane in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. I can guarantee that there are so many people going to the beach. After Joey thought that he grabbed his necklace off his nightstand and put it around his neck and held the cross for a few seconds more than he usually does everyday. "Dude, where are we going to put our things it's packed?" Cole unpacked the bags with the boards in them. Joey and Cole went to the shore to get their fins and fin socks on. Joey got his fins on first and started to paddle out. The current was insane. Cole was following Joey out to where the waves were starting to form. Joey got a nice wave and had a barrel. The current was so strong that Joey had an idea. His idea was to go on the right side of the jetty and tried to get pulled to the left and land where everyone else is. Cole told him before they went to the beach because he knew that there was a current. It was not a good idea because if a wave came, he could get smashed into it. Joey was not acting smart, so he decided to not listen to Cole. Joey walked over to the left side of the jetty. "Cole are you, coming?" Joey exclaimed. Cole just ignored Joey. Joey was so excited because he Get more content on HelpWriting.net
