Watt Laser - Pioneers in Laser Surface
Engineering
2. The Watt Laser SE12
The Watt Laser SE12 is the perfect companion machine
for all stencil manufacturers. It delivers low cost, high
efficiency and high speed laser surface engineering
processes including structuring, marking and welding.
Laser source Nanosecond pulsed fiber
Travel (mm) 710 x 790
Laser specification From 3-100W, 2-300Khz
Data formats include Gerber, DXF, JPG, PNG
SVG, STL, STEP
3. The SE12 is a core part of the new
patented Nanoslic™ hydrophobic
coating process
The Watt Laser SE12 is designed to
remove contaminants and oxides from
the stencil surface AND importantly,
increase the surface area of the
substrate.
This effectively provides millions of
micro-rivets of Nanoslic™, gripping to the
surface of the stencil.
This results in the world’s most effective
AND the world’s most durable stencil
nano coating.
4. The SE12-W can alter the surface of a material to
melt and weld metals with incredible accuracy. These
welds are placed to within 20 microns to create the
most advanced multilevel stencil in the world.

Unlike other welded steps, the resulting
weld is super flat, having ZERO heat
distortion. The weld is also as strong as
the original material.

metal mask technology in use anywhere
in the world.
5. Key improvements for the Watt laser nano weld
No assist gas
Other laser welding machines require argon or nitrogen as a shield gas to weld step stencils.
The Watt Laser SE12-W does not.
No heat distortion
The Watt Laser system uses proprietary machine learning algorithms and vacuum
technology to eliminate flatness issues found in other multi level welds.
Large vacuum fixture
A 395x395mm precision engineered vacuum fixture for maximum area and the highest
quality. (e.g. a customer recently did 35 separate welds of various thicknesses in 1
operation).
Thin material welding is now possible The SE12-W can weld down to 0.05mm thick material.
High speed Utilises beam steering optics for much faster welding.
Weld out of tension Perfect for vector guard and other frameless stencil types.
Weld larger step increments For example, 0.07mm to 0.25mm can be welded directly in one operation.
High strength
Focus issues on other laser weld systems can be as a result of poor setup, but most often
from metal buckling under heat distortion, this causes the weld strength to be compromised.
When tested against current industry standard welding machines, the SE12-W provided
stronger welds.
