Myopia, also known as short sightedness, is a vision condition where parallel rays of light focus in front of the retina. There are several types of myopia including axial, curvatural, positional, index, and accommodation-induced myopia. Myopia can be congenital, developmental, pathological, or acquired. Common symptoms include poor distance vision and asthenopic symptoms like eye strain, while signs include prominent eyeballs, a deeper anterior chamber, and larger pupils.
