Programmatic in an Evolving B2B Industry - DPRS, 5/13/15Digiday
Ana Villegas, Marketing Director at Dell, presented on embracing programmatic advertising in the evolving B2B industry. She explained that programmatic can help reach customers, promote products, and influence the purchase cycle more effectively. Dell assessed their advertising mix, tested metrics with programmatic, and saw a successful case study where they increased engagement by 3x, page views by 2x, and leads by 30% by taking a metrics-driven approach to a small programmatic launch focused on assets, inventory, and audiences. The key lessons were to start small, focus on assets, inventory and audience, and use clear KPIs.

Can a sports outfit producer successfully integrate environmental awareness into its business strategy? Is it possible to build a responsible organization based on the values of a different lifestyle and a specific community of customers?
The values of Patagonia are clearly aligned with those of its clients: love of nature and adventure. Instead of turning these values into a tool of communicating its brand, the Company is looking for innovative ways to demonstrate that these values are at the centre of its strategy and are not just the result of the strategy.
Patagonia became more than just another producer and seller of outfits for sports activities in open air, like its competitors. Rather, it positions itself as part of the economic system stressing the importance to be responsible and to take care of the environment. The level of integrating the mission, vision and values of the CSR into the business and the strategy are truly unique.
This presentation is about the basic model of strategic management. It talks about the three basic components and the parts that constitute those components.
The document discusses how exchange rates between currencies are determined by the forces of supply and demand in foreign exchange markets. There are two main reasons for exchanging currencies: to purchase goods/services from another country or relative changes in interest rates between countries. If demand for a currency increases due to a change in tastes, interest rates, or other economic factors, its value will appreciate as its price in the foreign exchange market rises. An appreciating currency makes imports less expensive and exports more expensive, decreasing exports and increasing imports.
New Belgium Brewing strives to be an ethical and environmentally responsible company. They have implemented various sustainability initiatives such as using wind power, capturing steam for reuse, and incorporating natural lighting. The company also treats employees well and engages in strategic philanthropy through community sponsorships and donations. While some argue companies producing alcoholic beverages cannot be socially responsible, New Belgium's actions indicate it is a role model in prioritizing ethics, social initiatives, and reducing environmental impact.
- In the short run, firms have fixed costs that do not depend on output level. They also have variable costs that vary with output. Total costs are the sum of fixed and variable costs.
- Marginal cost is the change in total cost from producing one additional unit. It reflects changes in variable costs. Marginal cost typically rises as output increases in the short run due to diminishing returns.
- A profit-maximizing firm will produce the quantity where marginal revenue equals marginal cost. In perfect competition, this occurs where price equals marginal cost.

The document discusses supply and demand analysis and its key assumptions:
- It applies when competition exists among buyers and sellers.
- It analyzes the interaction of buyers and sellers across all prices and goods with markets.
- The interaction of supply and demand determines both the quantity sold and the price.
It then provides examples of how supply and demand shifts in specific contexts like typhoons, and discusses related concepts like price stabilization, labor supply and wages, population growth, output growth, and taxation.
Finally, it covers international exchange rates, defining terms like appreciation, depreciation, and devaluation, and how the supply of and demand for foreign currency interact in markets.
Elasticity measures the responsiveness of quantity demanded or supplied to a change in its price or other factors. There are different types of elasticity: price elasticity measures the change in quantity demanded of a good due to a price change; income elasticity measures the change in quantity demanded due to a change in income; cross-price elasticity measures the change in quantity demanded of one good due to a price change in another good. Elasticity values can indicate whether demand is elastic or inelastic, and whether goods are substitutes or complements. Total revenue is impacted by whether demand is elastic or inelastic.
05 price elasticity of demand and supplyNepDevWiki
Price elasticity of demand measures how responsive quantity demanded is to price changes. It is calculated as the percentage change in quantity divided by the percentage change in price. Elastic demand occurs when this is above 1, inelastic below 1, and unitary elastic at 1. Perfectly elastic demand is horizontal, while perfectly inelastic is vertical. Factors like substitutes, budget share, and adjustment time influence elasticity. Income elasticity measures responsiveness to income changes, while cross elasticity measures responsiveness between related goods. Price elasticity of supply measures responsiveness of quantity supplied to price. Tax incidence depends on demand elasticity, with inelastic demand leading to consumers paying more of the tax.

This document analyzes the elasticity of demand for Volkswagen passenger cars. It first introduces concepts of demand, price elasticity of demand, and provides a case study of Volkswagen. It then discusses Volkswagen's history from 1904 to present, their global operations with over 370,000 employees and production in 21 countries. Finally, it analyzes Volkswagen's passenger car market demand, noting their deliveries increased 12.9% year-over-year to 5.4 million vehicles, with a global market share of 11.6%.
Price elasticity of demand and its applicationAwesh Bhornya
This document discusses concepts related to demand and price elasticity of demand. It defines price elasticity of demand as a measure of how much the quantity demanded of a good responds to a change in the price of that good. It identifies factors that influence price elasticity and discusses different types of elasticity including perfectly inelastic, inelastic, unit elastic, elastic, and perfectly elastic demand. It also discusses the relationship between price changes, quantity demanded, and total revenue.
This document discusses key concepts related to demand and supply, including:
1) Demand and supply schedules show the relationship between price and quantity at different price levels. Demand and supply curves graph this relationship.
2) A change in a non-price factor like income causes a shift of the demand or supply curve, while a price change results in movement along the curve.
3) Equilibrium occurs where quantity demanded equals quantity supplied. Price controls can result in surpluses or shortages from the equilibrium.
4) Elasticity measures the responsiveness of one variable to changes in another. It is used to analyze how changes in price or other factors affect revenue and consumer behavior.

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work.
