500 more Americans loss a limb (Ziegler et al., 2008). Of those who lose a limb later in life, 60
80% of them experience phantom limb pain. (Nikolajsen et al., 2001) Phantom limb pain refers
to a pain or sensation that seems to come from the limb that was amputated. ( Nikolajsen et al.,
2001) Of those who are congenital amputees, an estimated 1500 of them are born with upper

drinking is defined as the consumption of five or more drinks for males and four or more drinks

school winter breaks, our long hot summer days and more. The perfect time to reflect though is in
the summer. Individuals have enough time to sacrifice in order to venture to their past. For
children, summer is permanent freedom for three months while for adults it is filled with memory
lane. Last summer, I was at the OhioState Fair. It was a beautiful, sunny day. The wind was

We embraced each other in friendship. I introduced him to my two beautiful children. He was

I was able to observe how the PA interacted with patients with such a reassuring and caring attitude
that I had not seen with the previous physician I had met. I not only respected her compassionate
personality, but I related to it.
My senior year, I desired to see more of what life was like as a PA. Thankfully, I was finally
