Through creating a magazine, the author learned new technologies like Photoshop and how to properly use cameras. They gained skills in editing photos like removing backgrounds quickly and setting up photshoots with proper lighting to reduce editing time. The author also learned to use Photoshop to change colors and saturation to make pictures look natural, and how cameras can capture stories and focus on models to get perfect shots needing less Photoshop editing.

Before creating a magazine, the author had little knowledge of Photoshop or photography. Through the process of constructing the product, the author quickly learned how to use these technologies and received help from peers on editing and taking pictures, which improved the quality. The author also learned how to more efficiently remove backgrounds in Photoshop and properly set up photo shoots to avoid unnecessary lighting and speed up the editing process.
How did you attract address the target audience
The author attracted their target audience of older readers by choosing muted colors and formal language over slang for the magazine. They based the magazine's style on "The Vintage Life" which targets a similar audience, using the same font but making edits to the title to make it stand out more. Most pages featured female models with occasional males, and the magazine title was placed in front of models as it made the title easier to distinguish, as done in the magazine being emulated.
How does your media product represent particular social groups
This magazine represents a group of mostly female audiences aged 20-30. The language, mostly female models, comforting colors, and vintage photo style were used to attract this target demographic. Props like vinyl records and disks were included to convey the magazine's focus. With a price of ยฃ10, the magazine is affordable for its target age range who are working but not too expensive to put them off from buying it.

My school magazine ideas
- 1. N AT H A N FAW T H R O P MY SCHOOL MAGAZINE IDEAS
- 2. TITLE I want the title of my school magazine to be โTitus salisโ, this translates to Titus Salt from Latin but the name sounds like and would give it a more formal tone to the magazine with it being in Latin, this will reach further towards the planned audience of the Post-16.
- 3. BACKGROUND IMAGE I plan for the background image to be of either a lesson being taught in the background or post-16 students studying in either the library or the room we use to study in, there will be around 3 people in the shot as too many will make the picture too crowded and so will lower the quality of the photo.
- 4. TEXT ON THE FRONT PAGE I will have eye-catching text colour on the front page to make the reader want to read the stories inside of the magazine and will include the more important stories on the front of the magazine, the text size for all of the stories will need to be the same size and the title of the magazine will need to be around 72+ text size, this will be placed at the top of the magazine as that is the area people will look first when they see the picture and there will be a fill behind the title too to make it stand out even more.
- 5. TWO PAGE SPREAD In the two page spread, I plan to have more pictures inside in boxes around where the text is, which will link to each of the stories inside the pages.
