The plot centers around a young gay black man living with his mother who fears coming out to his friends in his social circle. When his girlfriend, who he used as a cover, becomes unexpectedly pregnant, he is forced to confront his sexuality. The film aims to represent the underrepresented gay community and challenge stereotypes of black people by portraying the main character as educated and career-focused rather than violent or criminal. The film will draw inspiration from other British realism films dealing with challenging topics and target a young adult audience around 19-30 years old.

2. The Plot The plot is based around young gay black man, living in a council house, with his mother. He fears his friends won’t accept him as he is in the ‘it’ crowd and dreads the day he comes out. He keeps it under wraps until the girlfriend he had to cover up his sexuality, suddenly falls pregnant.

4. Unique Selling Point My unique selling point will be the use of a homosexual character, as I feel the gay community are sometimes unrepresented in British realism films. Also I have challenged the stereotypes surrounding black people, by showing him as an educated, sophisticated and career focused individual and not the violent, crime orientated, thugs as often portrayed in films, TV, and the newspapers etc.
