Cuban Music
Cuba is one of the largest Island in the Caribbean. It is located between North and South America.
Three things that make Cuba a beautiful place are its attractions, music, and history.
All of Cuba s music ties to its history. A famous Cuban type of music is Son. Son is a major genre of
Cuban music, and has helped lay the foundation for most of what is to come after. It arose in the
eastern part of the island, among Spanish descended farmers. Another type of music in Cuba is
Rumba. It originated in the northern regions of Cuba, mainly in urban Havana. Lastly, one Cuban
genre of music is Dazon. Dazon is the official genre of music in Cuba. Dazon is a slow partner dance
that requires intricate footwork.. This genre was assumed to be created during the time British took
over Cuba. Cuba s music is very unique and can be found in very little places. ... Show more content

One example of these attraction is Vinales Valley. Vinales Valley is near the western part of Cuba. It is
circled by mountains. There the soil is extremely soil and the climate make it great for farming. The
traditional things that is farmed on the Vinales Valley is tobacco and it has been growing for several
years. Another very famous attraction is the Morro Castle. Morro Castle is in Havana Cuba.. Morro
Castle was built in the 1930 s as a voyage from New York City to Havana. On its way to New York
City, the vesile caught fire and killed 137 passengers. It then broke down in New Jersey and it stayed
there for years before it was brought back to Havana. Lastly, La Cabana brings many tourists from
around the world.. The fort rises above the 200 foot hilltop, along with Morro Castle. These attractions

The Inborn Names Of The Morongo Reservation
Set at the extremity of the striking San Gorgonio and San Jacinto Mountains, the Morongo Indian
Reservation extends more than 35,000 acres and overlooks the desert vistas of the Banning Pass. Wild
buckwheat, mesquite and chaparral still flourish here, and the ubiquitous breeze ensures that the air is
always fresh and clear.
One of the inborn names of the Morongo Reservation was Malki, and it was located in what was once
called the Wanikik territory. In the mid 19th century, the Serrano people to the north began journeying
to the Malki settlement. They brought with them the Morongo name derivative from the Serrano name
for their people, Maringayam. Since the late 19th century, the Morongo Reservation has been tenanted
by a mix of Cahuilla, Serrano, Luiseno and Cupeno people.
Irrepressible and ingenious, the Morongo tribe has overcome many hardships. The Morongo
Reservation was one of nine small reservations set aside by President Grant by Executive Order in
1865. The lands taken into trust by the federal government did not include land with access to surface
water. Accordingly, tribal members had to travel miles each day just to acquire water and to forage for
food. Through their industriousness and capability to survive in an unstable physical and political
environment, the Morongo tribe began a small bingo venture in 1983.
On February 25, 1987, the U.S. Supreme Court decided that neither the state of California nor
Riverside County could control the bingo and card

Why Is The Stonehenge Important
The Stonehenge is a massive stone monument located on a chalky plain north of Salisbury, England. It
was built between 4,000 5,000 years ago and believed to be completed in 3100 BC. It is made up of
two main stones: Sarsens and Bluestones. The sarsen stones are considered the biggest stones, while
the bluestones are referenced as the smallest ones. There are many mysteries of the Stonehenge that
have yet to be revealed. It is a magical and allegorical monument in England.
The surface area of one of the stones used in a Trilithon Horseshoe is 222.87m^2. I found the surface
area using the formula, PH+2B. The volume of the same stone is 8.075m^3. This was found using the
formula, BH. These formulas were used to calculate the surface area and the volume because the
shape of the stone I chose is a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are three theories that are thought to be the reason in creating the massive monument. One
theory is that it was used as a sacred burial site. Finds of skeletons and burial mounds and the
existence of a ceremonial route are evidence that it was used as a burial site. Another theory is that it
was used as a site Celestial and Astronomical Alignments. The only evidence to support this theory is
that the timings of the cermonies are significant. Lastly, there is a theory in which the Stonehenge was
used as a place for healing. Many ancient societies argue that the bluestones had healing properties.
Many sacred and significant stones make up the construction of the Stonehenge. The Trilithon
Horseshoe is five sets of stones arranged in a horseshoe shaped pattern. The Slaughter Stone is a stone
in the ground which is regarded as the entrance to the monument. The sun rises next to the Heel Stone
during the summer solstice. The Heel Stone is located along the Avenue, a series of ditches. Finally,
the Alter Stone, located inside the Trilithon Horseshoe, is made up of

Rape, Violence, And Violence
Though the offensive act occurs off stage, Pinter makes the rape incident pivotal in understanding the
acts of violence committed against women. Rape like other acts of physical violence leads to injuries
and bruises in the victim and also leads to psychological effects such as post traumatic stress, anxiety
and depression in the victim. But what separates rape from other acts of physical violence is that it
hurts the dignity of a woman, shatters her confidence, makes her feel powerless and nothing but an
object of pleasure for her offenders and at times causes long lasting physical and psychic problems. In
the play One for the Road, rape is used as a tool of violence to cause the psychological breakdown of

Though Victor does not say anything then, his immense mental anguish and pain is expressed later on
when he tells Nicolas Kill me (p.232)
A scene of sexual molestation is observed in Pinter s play Mountain Language when the Sergeant at
the prison puts his hand on the bottom of a young woman, who had come to visit her imprisoned
husband.(p.256) The young woman does not protest against the molestation out of fear that her
husband might be brutally tortured as a consequence of her complaint against the Sergeant s indecent
behaviour. Instead what she understands by the Sergeant s behaviour is that if she offers her body for
sexual pleasure to him and other higher officials she might be able to get her husband released from
the confinement. That is why towards the end of the play, she willingly offers her body to be sexually
violated.
YOUNG WOMAN
Can I fuck him? If I fuck him, will everything be all right?
SERGEANT
Sure. No problem.
YOUNG WOMAN

her own way. Her husband is imprisoned with no

Different Situations Where Skills By Social Workers Are...
This essay will be discussing two different situations where skills by social workers are needed when
working with groups. I will define the term group and will be reflecting on my own experiences of
working within groups and what I have observed in regards to individuals, behaviours and group
dynamics. My examples are drawn from two particular situations where I have been involved, which
include a multi professional meeting and residential home for children with disabilities. I will be
drawing on knowledge from K216 materials and other sources.
A definition of group according to the Oxford Dictionary of Social Work and Social Care (2013) is a
number of individuals with a shared sense of identity and/or who are bound together by interaction
with each other . Groups may be categorised into sub groups such as: social group, interest group,
family group or task group. People may be members of these different groups; however, their choice
of membership may be unavoidable, voluntary or limited. For example, attending school is
compulsory for young people and therefore the school group is regarded as a formal group . Whereas
they are at liberty to choose their friendship group within the school, therefore this is considered an
informal group (Adams, 1993, p.309 ).
The first group situation I will discuss is a multi professional meeting. The meeting was one I
observed which gave me the opportunity to identify group challenges and skills. The meeting was an

Rise Of Crime In America
The rise of crime in America seems like it is getting worse each and every year. To say that crime only
exist in the hood is an understatement. Crime is happening everywhere in our poverty neighborhoods,
even in the wealthiest neighborhoods crime is happening. You have different types of crime weather it
is murders, shoplifting, robberies it happens. Rising murders and homicides in cities deserve attention
now before it s too late and it s one of our loved ones.
Chicago getting the troops sent to help with the crime cases is a good idea. I do think that there can be
other ways that can lighten some of the violence in Chicago is by making stricter gun laws. I think
when a person that is dangerous get a hold of a weapon, that is not good and they should be the
biggest targeted people. I think that if people in Chicago do purchase a firearm they should be required
to take a gun course for a minimum of 20 hours at the most. I think that ll enlighten them on how to
properly store, and use a firearm and not just act crazy with it. According to GatGuns training is not

Reflection Of Human Development
Human development can be studied by researching both physical and mental development. It can be
studied by focusing on the external human body, along with the processes and intricate systems that
have been developed by our body. It can also focus on the human brain, specifically on the internal
development of human behaviour and interaction. Consequently, I have built my degree plan to
represent both viewpoints in development.
Physiology, the study of life and how cells and tissues in the body work together, works to answer
how cells interact with each other and how this establishes the interactions between human
populations. The following courses also focus on this thought. Biol 361: Physiology of Sensory,
Nervous and Muscular Systems will introduce the various systems in the human body, including
neurons and transmition (nervous system), muscle contraction (skeletal muscle), and sensory
information. This will provide a solid understanding of the various interactions in our body that allow
us to function. I am interested in expanding on my introductory Cell Biology courses, to focus
specifically on humans. Following this, BIOL 325: Introduction to Animal Mechanics and
Locomotion will continue to develop my understanding on animal physiology and this course will
focus more on Cardiovascular, respiratory, and osmoregulatory physiology. As such, this is providing
a complete look into the human body, combined with other courses. Then. BIOL 325: Introduction to
Animal Mechanics and Locomotion will look at one portion of the human body and how humans use
it interact with our environment. Specifically, it focuses on the skeletal system and how humans use it
in mechanisms of motion. Finally, BIOL 454: Comparative Animal Physiology and BIOL 457:
Comparative Environmental Physiology will work together to deepen my understanding of the
physiological adaptations that animals make in various environments. When looking at humans, these
are the perfect courses to pair with the development of the brain, as it provides a full understanding of
human thought and how we use our body to accomplish our thoughts. Through these courses, I hope
to gain a better understanding of how humans function in different situations.

Similarities Between Martin Luther And Star Wood
Martin Luther, essentially a nobody with credentials, grew to become one of the most influential
persons in the 16th century. Though his message was fought off by the Catholic church, with the help
of the printing press and his followers, Luther s message was able to spread throughout Europe.
Similarly, taking a look at the message of may your brief candle shine brightly from Once Upon a
Timepiece by Starr Wood, both messages of history traveled through time due to the unforeseen
circumstances one calls history. By examining the choices each individual made, it is clear to see how
greed and circumstance play a deep role in both Andrew Pettegree s Brand Luther and Starr Wood s
Once Upon a Timepiece.
Brand Luther, the detailed story of how Martin Luther, a former monk, became the backbone of a
religious reformation starts off in Wittenberg: the home of maybe two thousand at the time of Luther s
arrival. Wittenberg would become known as the starting place of the reformation, but prior to Luther s
writings was a poor, unattractive town, with old, small, ugly wooden houses, more like a village than a
town (Pettegree 7). Yet ironically, with the help of Martin, Wittenberg would thrive economically due
to the printing press s success in sending and selling his every last written word all over Europe.
Though the printing press was only first established in Wittenberg in 1502, Wittenberg would become
the printing capitol of the world by 1543 (Pettegree 11).

Chase et al. (2006) state that lean production is an integrated set of activities designed to achieve high
volume production using minimal inventories of raw materials, work in process, and finished goods
(p. 471). The essential components of lean production are surplus elimination, constant work flow, and
consumer appeal. The minute these components are in the neighborhood of supply, quality and cost,
this outlines the groundwork for a lean production organization. A Japanese plan of continuous
progress named the Kaizen is responsible for the lean production idea. Riordan can adjust the lean
production concept by employee empowerment and advancement, staying focused on making
processes stronger, impact of consumer relations, rapid merchandise growth and production, and
cooperation with suppliers are the imperative strategies of Riordan managing lean. Features of a lean
enterprise include a combined single piece continuous workflow and near incorporation of the entire
value series from raw material to finished product. In addition, demand drives production rather than
predictions. This means that manufacture designing is by consumer demand or appeal and not to
become system loading or strict work flows on the company floor. This will help Riordan keep
minimal inventories at each step of the production process. It is also important to know that having a
working participation by employees involved in

How Scheduled Maintenance Can Ultimately Save You Money
How Scheduled Maintenance Can Ultimately Save You Money
Keeping on top of your vehicle maintenance will cost some money. However, this investment can pay
big dividends down the road. Discover how people will know if the car has been well maintained and
the effect this will have on the value in a private sale or trade in situation at a car dealership. We ll also
outline several ways to find out what services are due on your vehicle and how to cut costs on these
important repairs.
The First Step in the Process
When you bring home that new or used vehicle the first thing you need to do is to create a dedicated
folder for it. There s a lot of paperwork associated with the purchase of an automobile and this belongs
in your folder. As time moves on you will collect receipts for motor vehicle records, warranty repairs,
completed recalls, maintenance services, parts and accessory purchases, cleaning supplies and detail
services. All of these things will go in your folder.
Very few sellers of automobiles have a rock solid organized history from the day the vehicle was
purchased, but now you will. If you sell the automobile to a private party you ll be able to instill a
level of confidence that your competition will not. Even if you decide to trade the vehicle at a
dealership they will have to consider these records into the value of the trade.
The Value of a Well maintained Automobile
There s no question that the condition of the automobile plays a large role in its value.

The Brave Gentlemen And Men Of Science
This lack of maternal instinct is reaffirmed in Stoker s work in two separate instances: when Lucy
lures small children in order to consume them and feed off of their vitality, and in the scene where the
Count takes a newborn to be devoured by the three monstrous women. Insatiable, these femme fatales
are also responsible for the physical decline of Jonathan Harker; they consume his blood and strength,
in a clear allusion to nineteenth century representations involving the unbridled consumption of
female desires and sexuality: He is young and strong; there are kisses for us all, (Stoker 69) celebrates
one of the vampires. Here, the heroic capabilities of man are simultaneously admired and undercut.
The brave gentlemen and men of science outline typical representations of manhood in their shared
eagerness to fight the alien threat of the vampire Dracula and his army of infected humans. However,
the group s shared need for masculinity transforms women into commodities, because men s anxieties
are also directed towards homosocial desires, which they fear will develop into a morally corruptive
homosexual performance. Signorotti states: The only way to eliminate the homosexual threat between
men is to include a woman in the relationship (Signorotti 608). Thus, in Dracula the emphasis on male
prowess is inherently anchored in the figure of the female angel in the house and in their ambition to
protect women from external threat. For example, the Count is killed through

What Is The Theme Of Mrs Frisby

their power to salvage their home. Mrs. Frisby is the head of the farm who everyone turns too because

her very sick son. In efforts to help him get better, she seeks out Mr., Agnes, a wise mouse, for some
medicine that will work its magic on her son Timothy. Although things begin looking up for Timothy s

This storyline was all based around moving Mrs. Frisby home to safety in order to steer clear of
plowing season. Throughout the story, we are able to witness Mrs. Frisby go to extreme lengths to
save her home and keep her family happy. Although it is not an easy process, Mrs. Frisby never gave
up. Her home was her safety net and the place where her family could all be together. Mrs. Frisby and
her children were especially lucky to even have a house. Although it was a slightly damaged cinder
block, the hollow kind with two ovals through it, but it was the place they called home and they would
make it work no matter what the season (pg. 38). There was no way she was going to let it all be
destroyed by the farmers. Instead of relocating, she travels all over to find a way to solve her problem,
which, in the end, is accomplished. In comparison to the impact Mrs. Frisby s home has on her life,
the rats of NIMH don t really have a set home. They are not dependent on one certain place, which is
why they come up with a plan to re locate when they find out the rosebush is going to be torn down.
To them, home is wherever they can live independently or create a place for themselves. At this stage
in their life, they are more focused on trying to be independent enough so they don t have to depend
on anyone for anything. They are highly trained to live and work in any condition. Unlike Mrs. Frisby,

The Effects Of Radio Frequency Waves On Health
Introduction
With cell phone usage increasing, many individuals have become concerned about the health effects of
radiation from cell phones and cell phone towers. In recent years, various studies have been conducted
to determine whether the radio frequency waves from cell phone towers have a detrimental effect on
health. Current research has yielded inconsistent results regarding the effects of radio frequency
waves, and while the World Health Organization does not view radio frequency waves as serious risk,
more research needs to be done in order to be certain (USDA, 2009). In this paper I will be addressing
the following scenario (Case 4):
A mobile phone base station was installed near a neighborhood in order to provide a better service
coverage in 2008. Over the past 5 years, the local residents complained of headache, memory loss,
dizziness, tremors, depressive symptoms, and sleep disturbance. They are concerned that the station
has caused neuropsychiatric problems and some changes in the performance of neurobehavioral
functions. They are more worried about their children, as a few cases of leukemia and brain tumor
have been found in young children (aged 1 3) since then.
In an effort to address the issue of radio frequency radiation exposure in this community, we will
provide a background on the sources of radio frequency radiation as well as the known and suspected
health effects. We will also proposed two epidemiological studies and discuss risk management and

International Income Tax
Question 1. The source method of tax collection generally involves the primary right of a country a
business is using as its main location of trading to tax this business according to its income. This is a
general international state practice, which is also anchored in double taxation agreements. The source
system means that income is taxed in the country where the income originates, regardless of factors
such as physical or legal residence of the person or entity receiving the income. The source system is
based on the fact that the business or entity receiving the income is making use of the source country s
resources. Additionally, such a system also implicates fair competition between taxpayers among
various jurisdictions. Income from lotteries, gambling, personal injury awards, gifts, and capital gains
are not characterized as source incomes in a country, which means that such earnings are not subjected
to this type of income tax. Another interesting point is that source system countries have extended
their taxation scope by considering certain types of income that do not have a true source as sourced
within their jurisdictions, such as dividends. These are then also deemed taxable by the countries
involved. The source based method differs from the residence method of taxation in that a country
considers a person who has earned income within its borders as subject to taxes payable to the
authority of that country. The residence system, on the other hand,

American Automotive Industry Environmental Scanning
Environmental scanning is a critical piece of the planning process in the POLC framework and means
that planners must be aware of the critical contingencies facing their organization in terms of
economic conditions, their competitors, and their customers. (Carpenter, M., Bauer, T. (2009).
Introduction to Principles of Management. In Principles of management (p. 9). Nyack, N.Y.: Flat
World Knowledge.) The American auto industry is no exception to this fact and must face the impact
of shifts in global competition and changing consumer expectations on their industry. The global
recession that started in 2007 has impacted the American and worldwide automobile industry by
forcing corporations out of business, into bankruptcies and corporate restructurings. There have also
been changes in the supply chain of components that go into these vehicles due to the same economic
hardships hitting the companies that provide the components. The global demand for automobiles is
rising and emerging markets in the BRIC nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China) as well as an increased
appetite for higher margin vehicles in North America will create opportunities for the auto industry if
it can properly plan and forecast sales growth and consumer demand. Apart from sales volume growth,
four challenges will shape the near and medium term future. The industry response to these challenges
could raise profitability...these challenges will matter much more for established markets than for
emerging

Multiple Themes In Maus By Art Spiegelman
In the graphic novel, Maus, written by Art Spiegelman, there are multiple themes present throughout
the comics. One in particular, that becomes very repetitive, is the theme of how the way one was
treated in his or her past can influence the way they treat others in the present. This theme is evident
on page 45, where Artie and Vladek are eating dinner. During their meal, Vladek notices that his son is
not eating everything that is on his plate. Vladek then states, So it has to be, always you must eat all
what is on your plate (Spiegelman 45). The only reason why Vladek was so harsh on his son for not
eating all that was given to him was because when he was younger, his parents would force him to eat
everything on his plate, regardless if

My Experience With Writing Class
Writing is always something that I needed to spend a little more time at. I was much better answering
math problems than I was writing a paper or explaining a book I just read. In my college writing class
I felt that I was always given a challenge. The book The Book Thief that I read was quite lengthy and
had a lot of symbolism in it that took me a while to completely understand. The papers that I had to do
in my college writing class were also a lot more challenging than the ones I had to do in other classes.
A song that I would use to explain my experience with writing and college writing class is The Climb
by Miley Cyrus. I would use Miley Cyrus s song to explain my experience with writing and my
college writing class because there is always going to ways to improve myself as a writer. When I do
any assignment in my college writing class I am always taking a chance with it. Writing can be taking
in so many different ways and there is not real right answer, most is just personal preference. It is also
a process that can be quite lengthy; it is not just a simple one step process. It requires a lot of editing

Pneumocystis Essay
1. What is PJP?
PJP stands for Pneumocystis jiroveci pneumonia which is caused by a fungus called Pneumocystis
jiroveci. This fungus is found in the environment and many people have already been exposed to it at
a young age; however, if the person is healthy then he/she will not become sick. In a person with a
weakened immune system, Pneumocystis jiroveci can cause a lung infection making it an
opportunistic infection. https://medlineplus.gov/ency/article/000671.htm 2. Differentiate between HIV
positive status and AIDS.
HIV is a virus. AIDS is a condition or set of symptoms that can develop in a HIV positive person after
a prolonged period of time. You can have HIV and not have aids, but if you have AIDS then you must
also be infected with HIV. Because HIV is a virus, it can be passed from person to person but AIDS
cannot. When a person becomes infected with HIV, the virus begins to attack their immune system and
render it weak. Over time the immune system can no longer fight off diseases that it once could which
can eventually lead to developing AIDS. Symptoms for AIDS can vary from person to person
depending on the opportunistic infection in which they have acquired. ... Show more content on

Devil And Daniel Webster Essay
The Devil and Daniel Webster Movie In the movie and the short story, amp;quot; The Devil and Daniel
Webster amp;quot;, written by Stephen Vincent Benet, there is illustrated the battle between the forces
of good and evil. Although the story allows the reader to mentally picture the scenes and the movie
does the depicting for the viewer, there are several similarities in each script. Some of these
similarities are the way the characters are depicted and the final scene. There are several incongruous
scenes between the short story and the way the movie unfolds. The differences are the amount of time
that is spent on the character development, also there are some scenes added into the movie such as
the harvest dance and the reminder of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The last character, Jabez Stone, wasn t given a very active role in the short story, but he was described
as amp;quot; an unlucky man...he had a good wife and children, but the more he had the less there was
to feed them. amp;quot; In the movie Jabez is seen more throughout the unfolding of the tale and his
family life was a little different. He had only one child and that was after the contract with the devil
was made. The ending to the short story took place in Jabez s barn and consisted of a jury filled with
the ruthless dead. This was also how the movie was played out. Even the closing speech that Daniel
made wasn t told word for word in the short story, but the way it was spoken in the movie seemed to
sum up the way it was supposed to be in the short story. It had the same affect because it made
amp;quot; the glitter [be] gone from the eyes of the judge and jury, and, for the moment, they were
men again, and knew they were men. amp;quot; The only difference in the movie that I didn t like as
much was that the Devil didn t seem as intimidated by Daniel Webster as he did in the short story. He
just laughed at Daniel and told him he d get him in the presidency race. There are even more
differences between the scripts then there are similarities. The first of these is the way the characters
are depicted. I already pointed out that Jabez had a bigger role in the movie and that he only had one
child. His wife, her mother, the neighboring farmers and the

Mrs Grier Character Analysis
Perception does not change either. Octavia perceives Mrs. Grier as a protector. This is evident first,
explicitly: Mrs. Grier is one classy lady. She is tall and big, not fat, but big like she deserves the
biggest room or the best plate of food.... But more than just being classy, Mrs. Grier is right.... But I
say she is right because she can know the truth from a lie just as soon as she hear it (164). Octavia
perceives Mrs. Grier as a protector because of her classiness, which indicates integrity, her stature, and
her discernibility of fact from fiction. In a community rife with pandemonium, missing children, and
dead children, the ability to discern what is true and what is false is vital. Octavia is cognizant of this,
which explains why she frequents Mrs. Grier s classroom, even though she is a former student. This
action, implicitly shows why she perceives Mrs. Grier as a protector. First, Octavia visits her after her
friend, Rodney, goes missing. Then, Octavia consults with her after learning that her mother wants her
to leave Atlanta. When Octavia feels the most helpless, she runs to Mrs. Grier the woman who can
help her the most. Perhaps, the role and perception of black female leaders do not change from the
private to the public sphere because of fictive kinship. Unlike black male leadership, which depends
on blood ties, black female leadership depends on the function more than the fact. Moreover, Mrs.
Grier s behavior, which is consistent with that of a matriarch, is just as impactful and rewarding to
Octavia, even though she is not the female leader of her household. In fact, black women are
commonly absorbed into other households: There was a black lady on Channel Two whom Mama
liked to call by her first name and critique on her appearance like she was somebody they actually
knew (24). Accordingly, the conflation of black women and motherhood, within the black community,
creates an inelasticity among the roles and perceptions they hold in any sphere, domestic or public.
Why do Jones and Bambara establish these gendered dynamics? Truthfully, it is more accurate to view
these gendered dynamics as reproductions. Jones and Bambara merely reproduce the gendered
dynamics that were present in Atlanta from

The Movie Whale Rider By Niki Caro
In the movie Whale Rider by Niki Caro, the theme is subjugation of women and the main character
Paikea manages to surpass the patriarchal beliefs so she is a winner which is good for the community
and that makes for a happy ending.
The main event of this movie is when the whales answer Paikea s call for help and end up stranded on
the shore. The locals are unable to move the whales, after many attempts they give up and walk away
with sadness. Then, Pai climbs up on the whale and rides it out to sea, making the rest of the whales
follow. At that moment she is unafraid of dying and goes underwater with the whale. The whales mean
a lot to their community because they believe that their ancestor Paikea was saved by the whales.
In the movie, Paikea decides to live up to her grandfather s expectations and to do so she challenges
the tradition by following her own path as a leader. An example of her determination is when she
learns how to fight with a taiaha by spying on the lesson through the window when Koro had told her
she couldn t learn it because she wasn t a boy. Her grandfather is the person with whom she is always
in confrontation. In fact, when the Marae was beginning she sat at the front row. Koro then tells her to
sit at the back because she is a girl, when she refuses to move he sends her away. On the inside, Pai is
trying to make Koro proud and to be a role model but she has to break the rules set by Koro and the
old traditions. Throughout the story she grows up

Criminal Communication and Its Effect
This is an excerpt from an investigation I wrote for Comuniclab, the web magazine of the University
of Rome La Sapienza . The work has been featured in several magazines.
Criminal communication
Naples criminal cartels communication strategies We talk through our guns . I was 8 when, passing by
the headquarters of a mafia clan to reach my school, I heard this sentence. (...) It seems to be a clear
and demonstrated truth: for instance, the war between local gangs Ascione Papale and Birra Iacomino
killed 18 mobsters and wounded several people, between 2007 and 2008. The latter is one of the most
recent mafia wars, and many examples are from that experience.
Wars and murders make many people think that weapons are the best means of communication for
mafia groups, but that is incorrect. Actually, these organizations power is widely based on the ability
to communicate to people, in various forms, their dominion over the territory, the capability to
dispense life and death, success and failure, favors and punishments. It is usually hard to find solid
evidence about the power of communication , Mario Morcellini, Professor and Director of the
Department of Communication and Social Research at the University of Rome Sapienza , says. On the
contrary, when we see how criminal cartels use communication, this power appears to be crystal clear.
They are enterprises, built on a communicative and symbolic dimension, and communication is the
most valuable commodity they sell .

In investing what is comfortable is rarely profitable, Robert Arnott, famous entrepreneur. Robert

How Accounting Is A Profession
Accounting is a profession that seems to be growing by the day. We were told during the first class
period that employment of accountants is growing 22% from 2008 to 2018. Goes to show that
Accounting is something that everyone needs, and is the backbone of business. Throughout this
semester we have been fortunate enough to have speakers from multiple accounting professions come
talk to us about their profession and what it entails. Tony Batman stood out to me because he shed a
different light on the accounting profession and business in general. Common perception is that people
get into business just to make money. Mr. Batman said something that will stick with me throughout
my entire career that is contrary to the notion of businesses being around solely for profit. He said that
the primary purpose of business is to make people s lives better . I had never thought of business that
way, I had always perceived it as providing a service for customers but you are actually making their
lives better while providing that service. In this essay I will discuss how things I learned in this class
helped guide my future career choice.
The first big question on deciding a career in accounting that was brought up was Public Accounting
vs. Private Accounting. We discussed that Public Accountants were more of service providers to
clients; this could include audit, tax, and advisory service roles that the company provides to their
employers. Most of the speakers that came to talk to us,

a great extent. By using the collected data, the company will be able to popularize marketing
campaigns in an effective way. This software ensures that product promotions reach different and new
set of customers and it will increase company s customer revenue effectively. The third benefit is that
CRM helps the company in maximizing up selling and cross selling. This system gives the customers

Analysis Of The Article The On Liquidation Of Sahaviriya...
The article is centred around the liquidation of Sahaviriya Steel Industries UK subsidiary, which may
threaten a total of 2200 jobs. With the government refusing to offer financial support to the loss
making steel plant, it is important to find out whether or not this case is part of a larger
macroeconomic issue threatening the United Kingdom and what the best course of action to take is.
The plant s shutdown is characterized by the soaring price of the pound against other currencies,
which made its exports expensive as well as low business confidence, generated from UK s failure to
compete with China s low cost imports . Thus, UK s high exchange rate and low business confidence
will result in a decrease in exports and investment, leading to falling aggregate demand UK s total
demand for its output at a range of price levels in a specific period of time from all consumers,
domestic or foreign. From the diagram above, we see a leftward shift in aggregate demand from AD to
AD1, leading to a fall in the overall price level from P0 to P1 and a fall in national output from Y0 to
Y1. To produce at this lower level of output, fewer factors of production including labour are needed,
leading to an increase in the level of unemployment in UK. This article s situation is one proof of the
many job slashes that are to come. The next important step is to determine whether this unemployment
is cyclical and due to the periodic nature of the business cycle or structural, meaning

The Theory Of Dark Matter
Introduction
Earth can be seen as a grain of sand on the beach once we compare it to the whole universe. The
question is what possible could occupy the majority of the universe, just within the Solar System we
can see that the planets are orbiting around the Sun. We can determine where the planets are by
calculating how fast the planet moves and where it is at in a certain time. So if the planet isn t where
you calculated it to be at what are the causes? One possibility is that we still don t fully understand all
laws of gravity or there is extra mass within the Solar System that is causing the planets to alter their
trajectory. This lead scientists to believe in the existence of dark matter and so began investigations
and experiments to learn whether it actually existed or not (Start with a bang, 2013).
Concepts and differences
The theory of dark matter stems from the fact that there is not enough normal matter, as the gravity of
normal matter isn t strong enough to form galaxies and complex structures. The stars will more likely
be disorganized and not form galaxies. Hence we know there is some exterior reason, something that
does emit or reflect light, something dark. All we know is that there is something out there, there is a
lot of it and it has something to do with gravity. The most popular idea is that within the cosmos there
is a dominant source of gravity which is an unidentified type of mass which cannot be seen by the
naked eye known as dark matter. Dark matter

  • 2. Cuban Music Cuba is one of the largest Island in the Caribbean. It is located between North and South America. Three things that make Cuba a beautiful place are its attractions, music, and history. All of Cuba s music ties to its history. A famous Cuban type of music is Son. Son is a major genre of Cuban music, and has helped lay the foundation for most of what is to come after. It arose in the eastern part of the island, among Spanish descended farmers. Another type of music in Cuba is Rumba. It originated in the northern regions of Cuba, mainly in urban Havana. Lastly, one Cuban genre of music is Dazon. Dazon is the official genre of music in Cuba. Dazon is a slow partner dance that requires intricate footwork.. This genre was assumed to be created during the time British took over Cuba. • 3. The Inborn Names Of The Morongo Reservation Set at the extremity of the striking San Gorgonio and San Jacinto Mountains, the Morongo Indian Reservation extends more than 35,000 acres and overlooks the desert vistas of the Banning Pass. Wild buckwheat, mesquite and chaparral still flourish here, and the ubiquitous breeze ensures that the air is always fresh and clear. One of the inborn names of the Morongo Reservation was Malki, and it was located in what was once called the Wanikik territory. In the mid 19th century, the Serrano people to the north began journeying to the Malki settlement. They brought with them the Morongo name derivative from the Serrano name for their people, Maringayam. Since the late 19th century, the Morongo Reservation has been tenanted by a mix of Cahuilla, Serrano, Luiseno and Cupeno people. Irrepressible and ingenious, the Morongo tribe has overcome many hardships. The Morongo Reservation was one of nine small reservations set aside by President Grant by Executive Order in 1865. The lands taken into trust by the federal government did not include land with access to surface water. Accordingly, tribal members had to travel miles each day just to acquire water and to forage for food. Through their industriousness and capability to survive in an unstable physical and political environment, the Morongo tribe began a small bingo venture in 1983. On February 25, 1987, the U.S. Supreme Court decided that neither the state of California nor Riverside County could control the bingo and card ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Why Is The Stonehenge Important The Stonehenge is a massive stone monument located on a chalky plain north of Salisbury, England. It was built between 4,000 5,000 years ago and believed to be completed in 3100 BC. It is made up of two main stones: Sarsens and Bluestones. The sarsen stones are considered the biggest stones, while the bluestones are referenced as the smallest ones. There are many mysteries of the Stonehenge that have yet to be revealed. It is a magical and allegorical monument in England. The surface area of one of the stones used in a Trilithon Horseshoe is 222.87m^2. I found the surface area using the formula, PH+2B. The volume of the same stone is 8.075m^3. This was found using the formula, BH. These formulas were used to calculate the surface area and the volume because the shape of the stone I chose is a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are three theories that are thought to be the reason in creating the massive monument. One theory is that it was used as a sacred burial site. Finds of skeletons and burial mounds and the existence of a ceremonial route are evidence that it was used as a burial site. Another theory is that it was used as a site Celestial and Astronomical Alignments. The only evidence to support this theory is that the timings of the cermonies are significant. Lastly, there is a theory in which the Stonehenge was used as a place for healing. Many ancient societies argue that the bluestones had healing properties. Many sacred and significant stones make up the construction of the Stonehenge. The Trilithon Horseshoe is five sets of stones arranged in a horseshoe shaped pattern. The Slaughter Stone is a stone in the ground which is regarded as the entrance to the monument. The sun rises next to the Heel Stone during the summer solstice. The Heel Stone is located along the Avenue, a series of ditches. Finally, the Alter Stone, located inside the Trilithon Horseshoe, is made up of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Rape, Violence, And Violence Though the offensive act occurs off stage, Pinter makes the rape incident pivotal in understanding the acts of violence committed against women. Rape like other acts of physical violence leads to injuries and bruises in the victim and also leads to psychological effects such as post traumatic stress, anxiety and depression in the victim. But what separates rape from other acts of physical violence is that it hurts the dignity of a woman, shatters her confidence, makes her feel powerless and nothing but an object of pleasure for her offenders and at times causes long lasting physical and psychic problems. In the play One for the Road, rape is used as a tool of violence to cause the psychological breakdown of not only Gila but also her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Beginning. Instead what she understands by the Sergeant s behaviour is that if she offers her body for sexual pleasure to him and other higher officials she might be able to get her husband released from the confinement. That is why towards the end of the play, she willingly offers her body to be sexually violated. YOUNG WOMAN Can I fuck him? If I fuck him, will everything be all right? SERGEANT Sure. No problem. • 7. Different Situations Where Skills By Social Workers Are... This essay will be discussing two different situations where skills by social workers are needed when working with groups. I will define the term group and will be reflecting on my own experiences of working within groups and what I have observed in regards to individuals, behaviours and group dynamics. My examples are drawn from two particular situations where I have been involved, which include a multi professional meeting and residential home for children with disabilities. I will be drawing on knowledge from K216 materials and other sources. A definition of group according to the Oxford Dictionary of Social Work and Social Care (2013) is a number of individuals with a shared sense of identity and/or who are bound together by interaction with each other . Groups may be categorised into sub groups such as: social group, interest group, family group or task group. People may be members of these different groups; however, their choice of membership may be unavoidable, voluntary or limited. For example, attending school is compulsory for young people and therefore the school group is regarded as a formal group . Whereas they are at liberty to choose their friendship group within the school, therefore this is considered an informal group (Adams, 1993, p.309 ). The first group situation I will discuss is a multi professional meeting. The meeting was one I observed which gave me the opportunity to identify group challenges and skills. The meeting was an Adoption ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Rise Of Crime In America The rise of crime in America seems like it is getting worse each and every year. To say that crime only exist in the hood is an understatement. Crime is happening everywhere in our poverty neighborhoods, even in the wealthiest neighborhoods crime is happening. You have different types of crime weather it is murders, shoplifting, robberies it happens. Rising murders and homicides in cities deserve attention now before it s too late and it s one of our loved ones. Chicago getting the troops sent to help with the crime cases is a good idea. I do think that there can be other ways that can lighten some of the violence in Chicago is by making stricter gun laws. I think when a person that is dangerous get a hold of a weapon, that is not good and they should be the biggest targeted people. I think that if people in Chicago do purchase a firearm they should be required to take a gun course for a minimum of 20 hours at the most. I think that ll enlighten them on how to properly store, and use a firearm and not just act crazy with it. According to GatGuns training is not required by the state in order to purchase a ... • 9. Reflection Of Human Development Human development can be studied by researching both physical and mental development. It can be studied by focusing on the external human body, along with the processes and intricate systems that have been developed by our body. It can also focus on the human brain, specifically on the internal development of human behaviour and interaction. Consequently, I have built my degree plan to represent both viewpoints in development. Physiology, the study of life and how cells and tissues in the body work together, works to answer how cells interact with each other and how this establishes the interactions between human populations. The following courses also focus on this thought. Biol 361: Physiology of Sensory, Nervous and Muscular Systems will introduce the various systems in the human body, including neurons and transmition (nervous system), muscle contraction (skeletal muscle), and sensory information. This will provide a solid understanding of the various interactions in our body that allow us to function. I am interested in expanding on my introductory Cell Biology courses, to focus specifically on humans. Following this, BIOL 325: Introduction to Animal Mechanics and Locomotion will continue to develop my understanding on animal physiology and this course will focus more on Cardiovascular, respiratory, and osmoregulatory physiology. As such, this is providing a complete look into the human body, combined with other courses. Then. BIOL 325: Introduction to Animal Mechanics and Locomotion will look at one portion of the human body and how humans use it interact with our environment. Specifically, it focuses on the skeletal system and how humans use it in mechanisms of motion. Finally, BIOL 454: Comparative Animal Physiology and BIOL 457: Comparative Environmental Physiology will work together to deepen my understanding of the physiological adaptations that animals make in various environments. When looking at humans, these are the perfect courses to pair with the development of the brain, as it provides a full understanding of human thought and how we use our body to accomplish our thoughts. Through these courses, I hope to gain a better understanding of how humans function in different situations. At the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Similarities Between Martin Luther And Star Wood Martin Luther, essentially a nobody with credentials, grew to become one of the most influential persons in the 16th century. Though his message was fought off by the Catholic church, with the help of the printing press and his followers, Luther s message was able to spread throughout Europe. Similarly, taking a look at the message of may your brief candle shine brightly from Once Upon a Timepiece by Starr Wood, both messages of history traveled through time due to the unforeseen circumstances one calls history. By examining the choices each individual made, it is clear to see how greed and circumstance play a deep role in both Andrew Pettegree s Brand Luther and Starr Wood s Once Upon a Timepiece. Brand Luther, the detailed story of how Martin Luther, a former monk, became the backbone of a religious reformation starts off in Wittenberg: the home of maybe two thousand at the time of Luther s arrival. Wittenberg would become known as the starting place of the reformation, but prior to Luther s writings was a poor, unattractive town, with old, small, ugly wooden houses, more like a village than a town (Pettegree 7). Yet ironically, with the help of Martin, Wittenberg would thrive economically due to the printing press s success in sending and selling his every last written word all over Europe. Though the printing press was only first established in Wittenberg in 1502, Wittenberg would become the printing capitol of the world by 1543 (Pettegree 11). Pettegree s book ... (2006) state that lean production is an integrated set of activities designed to achieve high volume production using minimal inventories of raw materials, work in process, and finished goods (p. 471). The essential components of lean production are surplus elimination, constant work flow, and consumer appeal. The minute these components are in the neighborhood of supply, quality and cost, this outlines the groundwork for a lean production organization. A Japanese plan of continuous progress named the Kaizen is responsible for the lean production idea. Riordan can adjust the lean production concept by employee empowerment and advancement, staying focused on making processes stronger, impact of consumer relations, rapid merchandise growth and production, and cooperation with suppliers are the imperative strategies of Riordan managing lean. Features of a lean enterprise include a combined single piece continuous workflow and near incorporation of the entire value series from raw material to finished product. In addition, demand drives production rather than predictions. This means that manufacture designing is by consumer demand or appeal and not to become system loading or strict work flows on the company floor. This will help Riordan keep minimal inventories at each step of the production process. It is also important to know that having a working participation by employees involved in ... We ll also outline several ways to find out what services are due on your vehicle and how to cut costs on these important repairs. The First Step in the Process When you bring home that new or used vehicle the first thing you need to do is to create a dedicated folder for it. There s a lot of paperwork associated with the purchase of an automobile and this belongs in your folder. As time moves on you will collect receipts for motor vehicle records, warranty repairs, completed recalls, maintenance services, parts and accessory purchases, cleaning supplies and detail services. All of these things will go in your folder. Very few sellers of automobiles have a rock solid organized history from the day the vehicle was purchased, but now you will. If you sell the automobile to a private party you ll be able to instill a level of confidence that your competition will not. • 14. The Brave Gentlemen And Men Of Science This lack of maternal instinct is reaffirmed in Stoker s work in two separate instances: when Lucy lures small children in order to consume them and feed off of their vitality, and in the scene where the Count takes a newborn to be devoured by the three monstrous women. Insatiable, these femme fatales are also responsible for the physical decline of Jonathan Harker; they consume his blood and strength, in a clear allusion to nineteenth century representations involving the unbridled consumption of female desires and sexuality: He is young and strong; there are kisses for us all, (Stoker 69) celebrates one of the vampires. Here, the heroic capabilities of man are simultaneously admired and undercut. The brave gentlemen and men of science outline typical representations of manhood in their shared eagerness to fight the alien threat of the vampire Dracula and his army of infected humans. However, the group s shared need for masculinity transforms women into commodities, because men s anxieties are also directed towards homosocial desires, which they fear will develop into a morally corruptive homosexual performance. Signorotti states: The only way to eliminate the homosexual threat between men is to include a woman in the relationship (Signorotti 608). Thus, in Dracula the emphasis on male prowess is inherently anchored in the figure of the female angel in the house and in their ambition to protect women from external threat. For example, the Count is killed through ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mrs. Frisby is the head of the farm who everyone turns too because she is so kind and loving. Lately, it hasn t been easy for Mrs., Frisby because she has been caring for her very sick son. In efforts to help him get better, she seeks out Mr., Agnes, a wise mouse, for some medicine that will work its magic on her son Timothy. Throughout the story, we are able to witness Mrs. Frisby go to extreme lengths to save her home and keep her family happy. Although it is not an easy process, Mrs. Frisby never gave up. Her home was her safety net and the place where her family could all be together. Mrs. Frisby and her children were especially lucky to even have a house. Although it was a slightly damaged cinder block, the hollow kind with two ovals through it, but it was the place they called home and they would make it work no matter what the season (pg. 38). There was no way she was going to let it all be destroyed by the farmers. Instead of relocating, she travels all over to find a way to solve her problem, which, in the end, is accomplished. In comparison to the impact Mrs. Frisby s home has on her life, the rats of NIMH don t really have a set home. They are not dependent on one certain place, which is why they come up with a plan to re locate when they find out the rosebush is going to be torn down. To them, home is wherever they can live independently or create a place for themselves. At this stage in their life, they are more focused on trying to be independent enough so they don t have to depend on anyone for anything. They are highly trained to live and work in any condition. • 16. The Effects Of Radio Frequency Waves On Health Introduction With cell phone usage increasing, many individuals have become concerned about the health effects of radiation from cell phones and cell phone towers. In recent years, various studies have been conducted to determine whether the radio frequency waves from cell phone towers have a detrimental effect on health. Current research has yielded inconsistent results regarding the effects of radio frequency waves, and while the World Health Organization does not view radio frequency waves as serious risk, more research needs to be done in order to be certain (USDA, 2009). In this paper I will be addressing the following scenario (Case 4): A mobile phone base station was installed near a neighborhood in order to provide a better service coverage in 2008. Over the past 5 years, the local residents complained of headache, memory loss, dizziness, tremors, depressive symptoms, and sleep disturbance. They are concerned that the station has caused neuropsychiatric problems and some changes in the performance of neurobehavioral functions. They are more worried about their children, as a few cases of leukemia and brain tumor have been found in young children (aged 1 3) since then. In an effort to address the issue of radio frequency radiation exposure in this community, we will provide a background on the sources of radio frequency radiation as well as the known and suspected health effects. We will also proposed two epidemiological studies and discuss risk management and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 17. International Income Tax Question 1. The source method of tax collection generally involves the primary right of a country a business is using as its main location of trading to tax this business according to its income. This is a general international state practice, which is also anchored in double taxation agreements. The source system means that income is taxed in the country where the income originates, regardless of factors such as physical or legal residence of the person or entity receiving the income. The source system is based on the fact that the business or entity receiving the income is making use of the source country s resources. Additionally, such a system also implicates fair competition between taxpayers among various jurisdictions. Income from lotteries, gambling, personal injury awards, gifts, and capital gains are not characterized as source incomes in a country, which means that such earnings are not subjected to this type of income tax. Another interesting point is that source system countries have extended their taxation scope by considering certain types of income that do not have a true source as sourced within their jurisdictions, such as dividends. These are then also deemed taxable by the countries involved. The source based method differs from the residence method of taxation in that a country considers a person who has earned income within its borders as subject to taxes payable to the authority of that country. The residence system, on the other hand, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 18. American Automotive Industry Environmental Scanning Environmental scanning is a critical piece of the planning process in the POLC framework and means that planners must be aware of the critical contingencies facing their organization in terms of economic conditions, their competitors, and their customers. (Carpenter, M., Bauer, T. (2009). Introduction to Principles of Management. In Principles of management (p. 9). Nyack, N.Y.: Flat World Knowledge.) The American auto industry is no exception to this fact and must face the impact of shifts in global competition and changing consumer expectations on their industry. The global recession that started in 2007 has impacted the American and worldwide automobile industry by forcing corporations out of business, into bankruptcies and corporate restructurings. There have also been changes in the supply chain of components that go into these vehicles due to the same economic hardships hitting the companies that provide the components. The global demand for automobiles is rising and emerging markets in the BRIC nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China) as well as an increased appetite for higher margin vehicles in North America will create opportunities for the auto industry if it can properly plan and forecast sales growth and consumer demand. Apart from sales volume growth, four challenges will shape the near and medium term future. One in particular, that becomes very repetitive, is the theme of how the way one was treated in his or her past can influence the way they treat others in the present. This theme is evident on page 45, where Artie and Vladek are eating dinner. During their meal, Vladek notices that his son is not eating everything that is on his plate. Vladek then states, So it has to be, always you must eat all what is on your plate (Spiegelman 45). I was much better answering math problems than I was writing a paper or explaining a book I just read. In my college writing class I felt that I was always given a challenge. The book The Book Thief that I read was quite lengthy and had a lot of symbolism in it that took me a while to completely understand. The papers that I had to do in my college writing class were also a lot more challenging than the ones I had to do in other classes. A song that I would use to explain my experience with writing and college writing class is The Climb by Miley Cyrus. I would use Miley Cyrus s song to explain my experience with writing and my college writing class because there is always going to ways to improve myself as a writer. When I do any assignment in my college writing class I am always taking a chance with it. Writing can be taking in so many different ways and there is not real right answer, most is just personal preference. It is also a process that can be quite lengthy; it is not just a simple one step process. It requires a lot of editing and having others give feedback about it. 2. If I were going to teach UWRT 1102 I would emphasize on composing processes. As a student myself, I know that editing a paper is not something we enjoy to do. She is tall and big, not fat, but big like she deserves the biggest room or the best plate of food.... But more than just being classy, Mrs. Grier is right.... But I say she is right because she can know the truth from a lie just as soon as she hear it (164). Octavia perceives Mrs. Grier as a protector because of her classiness, which indicates integrity, her stature, and her discernibility of fact from fiction. In a community rife with pandemonium, missing children, and dead children, the ability to discern what is true and what is false is vital. Octavia is cognizant of this, which explains why she frequents Mrs. Grier s classroom, even though she is a former student. This action, implicitly shows why she perceives Mrs. Grier as a protector. First, Octavia visits her after her friend, Rodney, goes missing. Then, Octavia consults with her after learning that her mother wants her to leave Atlanta. When Octavia feels the most helpless, she runs to Mrs. Grier the woman who can help her the most. Perhaps, the role and perception of black female leaders do not change from the private to the public sphere because of fictive kinship. Unlike black male leadership, which depends on blood ties, black female leadership depends on the function more than the fact. Moreover, Mrs. Grier s behavior, which is consistent with that of a matriarch, is just as impactful and rewarding to Octavia, even though she is not the female leader of her household. In fact, black women are commonly absorbed into other households: There was a black lady on Channel Two whom Mama liked to call by her first name and critique on her appearance like she was somebody they actually knew (24). Accordingly, the conflation of black women and motherhood, within the black community, creates an inelasticity among the roles and perceptions they hold in any sphere, domestic or public. Why do Jones and Bambara establish these gendered dynamics? Truthfully, it is more accurate to view these gendered dynamics as reproductions. • 34. The Theory Of Dark Matter Introduction Earth can be seen as a grain of sand on the beach once we compare it to the whole universe. The question is what possible could occupy the majority of the universe, just within the Solar System we can see that the planets are orbiting around the Sun. We can determine where the planets are by calculating how fast the planet moves and where it is at in a certain time. So if the planet isn t where you calculated it to be at what are the causes? One possibility is that we still don t fully understand all laws of gravity or there is extra mass within the Solar System that is causing the planets to alter their trajectory. This lead scientists to believe in the existence of dark matter and so began investigations and experiments to learn whether it actually existed or not (Start with a bang, 2013). Concepts and differences The theory of dark matter stems from the fact that there is not enough normal matter, as the gravity of normal matter isn t strong enough to form galaxies and complex structures. The stars will more likely be disorganized and not form galaxies. Hence we know there is some exterior reason, something that does emit or reflect light, something dark. All we know is that there is something out there, there is a lot of it and it has something to do with gravity. The most popular idea is that within the cosmos there is a dominant source of gravity which is an unidentified type of mass which cannot be seen by the naked eye known as dark matter. Dark matter ...
