2. Preoperative Phase The First Interaction I Had With My...
In the preoperative phase the first interaction I had with my assigned patient was at the holding area
where the assigned nurse asked Mr. A.G. for family members present at the hospital, the need for last
minute calls, and if there was any questions about the surgery and post surgery procedures.
At this time MR. A.G. particurlarly felt a little nervous, and anxious about the operating room but he
understood that this was a needed surgery; when asked about family member, he replied that only his
brother will be staying at the hospital with him; explaining that his wife was at work and, his kids
were at school. Mr. A.G appear a somewhat serious and a little pale.
There was limited use of the electronic health record, the assigned nurse mainly use the chart to verify
consent forms and physician s orders prior to surgery.
The assigned nurse explained to the patient about pain management/ pain scale after surgery and how
he will be waking up in the Intensive Care Unit where he was going to have chest tubes to remove the
extra fluid from the chest cavity; he confirmed understanding and was ready to move on with the
procedure. The role of the preoperative nurse is to ensure patients safety , provide information and
emotional support to patients and family member awaiting surgery; they are also responsible for
ensuring that all the preoperative information data is obtained and that it is in the patient s chart.
In the Intraoperative phase Mr. A.G. was

3. Themes In Dante Alighieri s Make Florence Great Again
Make Florence Great Again
Dante Alighieri lived during a time of various warring political sides and became strongly involved in
politics as much as his education and writing. He was then exiled by the unstable political climate but
remained determined to contribute to Florence s well being through his writing of the epic poem, The
Inferno, attempting to cleanse corrupt figures, who he believed contributed no positive aspects to
Florence, by putting them in certain places of his Hell. He creates a protagonist, modeled off himself
to do this and throughout the poem Dante, the protagonist, shows hostility towards sinners who
contradicted his political stance such as the wrathful Filippo Argenti through diction. However,
Alighieri seems to show sympathetic feelings towards the heretic Farinata Degli Uberti through
diction and imagery, but he was on an opposing political side of Dante, yet Dante seems to overlook
his opposing ideas and sin because the sinner states his good will towards Florence. Finally, another
important sinner, Sodomite Ser Brunetto Latino, is shown compassion through Dante s interactions
and the author s diction, which suggests that Dante Alighieri seems to only respect sinners who tried
to protect or create a prosperous Florence, which is why he overlooks their political stance and/or sins.
Alighieri reveals his first resentful feelings towards sinners of opposite political sides whom, he
believes, had no intention to contribute to the development of his

4. A High-Voltage Compliant Microelectrode Array Driver for...
2.5
High voltage switching
A fundamental component of this microelectrode driver is a high voltage switch and it is necessary to
characterize the implemented switch for different stimulation current levels. An analog CMOS switch
can be an n type or p type MOSFET which is operated either in cut off (OFF state) or ohmic region
(ON state). The switch can be characterized by a fixed linear transconductance, gds , which is strongly
signal dependent and expressed according to Eq. 8 [37] where, μn and μp are electron and hole
mobility respectively in two types of transistors, Cox is the gate oxide capacitance, W n and W p are
the dimensions of transistors, VDD is the power supply
L
L voltage, and Vin is the input signal. The bulk of NMOS and PMOS transistors are connected to the
highest potential, VDD and the lowest potential, VSS respectively. The limitations are that the
maximum voltage an NMOS and the minimum voltage a PMOS can pass are [VDD − Vthn ] and
|Vthp | respectively.
This drawback can be overcome using CMOS transmission gate (TG) which exhibits lower overall
transconductance. Another advantage of using TG based switch is that it passes good 1 (or logic level
high) and good 0 (logic level low) without any threshold voltage drop, or in other words, TG gate
switch allows rail to rail swings. The transconductance of TG gate switch is expressed by the
following equation: The on resistance RsON of the switch is the reciprocal of its transconductance,
gdsON and given by

5. An Analysis Of Billy Joel s Song We Didn T Start The Fire
Billy Joel in his song We Didn t Start The Fire claims that the current generation, as of the time the
song was written, did not, in fact, start the fire. Thought the song many events are listed until the
chorus comes along again to remind the listener the they did not start the fire. The fire in this song that
Billy Joel speaks of are crazy and shocking events in the world not only being generally harmful to the
public but events that changed how people viewed things. The song s repetition of not starting the fire,
the lengthy lines used for verses that completely list events, and the listing of events as opposed to
common verses in an average song shows how they did not start the fire and the fire had been going
on for generations and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the song being so different from an average song, it makes the song feel filled in the verses, with
all of the events that he provides, in the short time that the song plays. The song s verses are entirely
evidence for Billy Joel s claim that the fire had not been started by him or his group and with so many
examples, there is no time to put reasoning behind it but rather connect the ideas to the major point,
being the chorus. With so many examples one after another as the song continues through its verses
Billy Joel is listing as many examples as he can to prove the point of the fire having been already
started. As he lists these events he is pushing forward so many examples against the argument without
taking any look at another side which shows how he is not only annoyed by the claim that he did start
the fire but also how he wants to push his side. With so much evidence being thrown at the listener it s
impossible to refute what he is saying. His strange verses being entirely made up of listed evidence
towards his claim, it supports his argument in a strange and uncharacteristic way for an average

The Hidden Personality
The essay He Would Never Hurt a Fly: War Criminals on Trial in The Hague
Written by Slavenka Drakulic in 2004 recaptures the life in Yugoslavia during the ethnic
War and a crucial period of the dissolving country. This period of life was the 60 s and the generation
was healthy there was no formula, cotton diapers, and no danger (Drakulic 1118). The essay is told by
a native of Croatia, who uses her personal familiarity of people and the community to report using
both journalism and fiction. It tells a story of the trial of a trusting young man named Goran Jelisic
that becomes cultivated by the war going on around him. Goran was a ... Show more content on

It is debated in the essay that Goran was a narcissistic and antisocial personality determined by two
psychiatrists (Drakulic 1122), or was he a victim of the war that lead him to kill for eighteen days.
Another theory was that he was forced and afraid of his life. I find it ironic that he plead guilty and
was willing to take his punishment with no defense. This essay showed how we all are a victim of our
upbringing and surroundings. It portrays a life of a normal human that had goals and ambitions but
failed due to power of one s inner soul. You can t help but feel that Goran was a victim and not just a
killer that turned, with the blink of an eye into a monster. He pretended to be God and got a high of
showing his power by executing prisoners (Drakulic 1125). He was a young farm mechanic given a
pistol and power that he had never received before, but had longed for his whole life.
It seems like Goran could have been anyone of us from the grocery store clerk, the CEO of a big
corporation, or the stay at home mother that had just had enough. The human race is a complex breed
that at any point we can be pushed over the edge. Looks can be deceiving and while everything
appears to be put together the inner battle within ones soul could portray a monster waiting to be
pushed over the edge. I believe that no one is brought into this world evil; they are a product of their
environments that forms their inner demons.

8. Worst Humanitarian Crisis
Last week, I read an article in the New York Times, called It s a Slow Death : The World s Worst
Humanitarian Crisis. It talked about the recent cholera outbreak in Yemen, which killed almost 2,000
people in three weeks and infected over 500,000.
The authors have presented three critical graphs in this article. The first one is a thematic map of
cholera case density in Yemen. The map shows that western Yemen is the most heavily affected,
several parts of which have reached an infection rate of 300 per 10,000 people. In the second graph, a
comparison is made among the cholera outbreaks in different countries in the past 50 years, while
Yemen mounted towards other largest outbreaks such as those in Peru (1991) and Haiti (2011). The

While Yemen has long been the poorest country in the Arab world, the ongoing civil war has ruined
most of its basic infrastructure, including transportation system, hospitals, and sewage. Poor hygiene
provides a hotbed for the cholera virus, which breeds inside the already malnourished people and is
later aggravated by the shortage of medical care from both domestic and international providers.
However, cholera is not a life threatening disease in developed countries given proper sanitation and
antibiotics. In other parts of Yemen, there is neither such high rate of infection. Therefore, by
comparing spatially, it demonstrates that health conditions are largely affected by the geographic
variation in access to needs (clean water, food, sewage) and medical services (hospitals and
medicines). By comparing the current status with the past, it is clear to tell that human activities can
greatly change the human characteristics of a place, while violent conflicts in this particular case have
drastically worsened the living conditions of the local Yemenis

9. International Currency And International Trade
International currency basically means the currency that is used and held beyond the borders of the
issuing country, not merely for transactions with that country s residents but also, and importantly, for
transactions between nonresidents (Kenen 2009). For a country that have an international currency, it
would meet various benefits and costs which could be analyzed from both economic and political
dimensions.
It has be argued (Cohen 2012)that the main advantages is related to transactions costs, international
seigniorage macroeconomic flexibility, political leverage and reputation.
With the internationalization of the currency .the domestic currency can be directed used for
international trade valuation, payment and settlement. The foreign trade sector can use domestic
currency settle the import and export business, the domestic financial Institutions and enterprises can
borrow, make up international deficit with domestic currency to reduce the risk of exchange rate. So
both the transactions costs in trade and for residents can be reduced.
Seigniorage could be counted as revenue for a government when the money that is created is worth
more than it costs to produce it, the issuers of an international currency can gain extra seigniorage
because foreigners hold large amount of domestic currency in exchange for traded goods and services
.And the issuing country raises asset price and creates liquidity premium interest rate subsidy.
The country can enhance its international

10. Summary Of The Great Storytellingki-Tikki Tavi
The Great Rikki tikki tavi Bravery has many characters and one mammal has them all. Rikki tikki tavi
fought single handed, through the bathrooms of the big bungalow in Segowlee cantonment. Darzee,
the tailor bird, helped him, and Chuchundra, the muskrat, who never comes out into the middle of the
floor but always creeps round by the wall, gave him advice; but Rikki tikki did the real fighting. He
was a mongoose, rather like a little cat in his fur and his tail but quite like a weasel in his head and his
habits. His eyes and the end of his restless nose were pink; he could scratch himself anywhere he
pleased with any leg, front or back, that he chose to use; he could fluff up his tail till it looked like a
bottle. One day, a high summer flood washed him out of the burrow where he lived with his father and
mother and carried him, kicking and clucking, down a roadside ditch. He found a little wisp of grass
floating there and clung to it till he lost his senses. When he revived, he was lying in the hot sun in the
middle of a garden path, very draggled indeed, and a small boy was saying: Here s a dead mongoose.
Let s have a funeral. No, said his mother; let s take him in and dry him. Perhaps he isn t really dead.
(Kipling 143) The book by Rudyard Kipling and the movie Rikki tikki tavi is about a mongoose
named Rikki tikki tavi. This mammal is one of the great fighters of the dreaded cobras, and in this
story, the Rulers of the garden. The book

The Railways are very important part of Canada s history and a part of transportation. For more than a
century, CP rail was called the Canadian Pacific Railway, and it remains today the railroad that helped
to settle the Canadian West in the Second half of the last Century ( Thomas York 129). The CP was not
only built to provide transportation, but it was also built to get British Columbia united with Canada. It
also helped many Chinese immigrants to come to Canada and had a strong impact on the political and
economic connection between west to east of Canada. It is beyond doubt that the Canadian Pacific
Railway was really the one that had Canada united as a country.

Five thousand labourers were sent from China by ship during these contracts and over seven thousand
were employed from California. Between 1881 and 1884 there were 17000 Chinese labourers working

had to still pay for their food and their camping and cooking gear, [while] white workers did not have
to pay for these things even though they were paid more money $1.50 $2.50 per day (Library and
Archives Canada). The Chinese workers had the most dangerous jobs from others, as they had to
break off granite and planted explosives that were used to blow up tunnels. While working on the
railway, many died due to accidents, fires and dynamite blasts. The Chinese workers lived in tents, but
these tents were unsafe as they did not provide protection from falling rocks. When the Canadian
Pacific Railway completed in 1885, the Chinese workers needed to find new jobs. Several workers
went back to China, while some found a new job as gardeners, cooks and servants. The Chinese
moved to east of Canada and settled there, opening restaurants and laundries. When the railway

have sought out refuge here in Texas. The migration of these Mexican immigrant children has created
a major challenge for Texas school system and child welfare worker s. Due to this overwhelming

While the undocumented students are now being welcomed into our public school system, how
difficult will the transition from undocumented child to undocumented adult? Research shows that
almost one third of the immigration population in America is undocumented (Gonzales, 2009). Every
year over 60,000 undocumented students graduate from the United States public school system. This
is where a major problem arises. Post secondary education is almost unattainable for these students.
The inability to legally work or obtain financial assistance for school in most states makes higher
education unattainable Policy makers against allowing college admission to these students believe the
post secondary education system will be overwhelmed. Those pro higher education for the
undocumented suggest that denying the students an education could potentially hurt the economy.
Also it denies the workforce access to skilled and professional workers. This major road block has
been a topic for discussion among researchers and policy makers for quite some time. The Illegal
Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act allows the states discretion to allow or restrict
undocumented student s admission to post secondary

19. Argumentative Essay On Role Playing Games
Kids all across America play role playing games that involve shooting each other with water guns
which sounds harmless and innocent but some people think different. A select hand of people think
that kids and teenagers playing role playing games are violent and could lead the kids into a troubled
future, but they really are just harmless. The reasons for why role playing games like senior assassin
are harless are that it isn t real killing, it doesn t involve real guns, no one gets hurt, and that it is
usually set up by the school that all of the students attend. But on the other hand the people that think
that it is violent have no real evidence and only say things like someone could get hurt, but from what
the water, and they also say that it involves weapons but that really doesn t mean anything.
The evidence for why it is harmless is because there has never been a death or killing from playing
those harmless games because there is nothing wrong with them. Others say that the game is very
dangerous but there is no evidence for that, the only thing that they say is that it simulates violence but
there is really nothing violent about it, besides that the game is just fun. A quote from an article called
Violent video games may stop crime by keeping criminals busy playing violent video games and in
that it says violent video games may have directly contributed to the decrease in real world violence.

The Minister of Justice appealed the British Columbia Court of Appeal s decision to nullify the
extradition without assurances to the Supreme Court of Canada.
The Supreme Court of Canada s Decision
The Supreme Court of Canada (SCC) said in regards to the section 12 of the charter claim, that in R. v.

proceedings in a foreign country are to be conducted (para.51) and therefore the respondents section

case, and made their decision based on the interpretation of s. 7. The SCC found that s.7 evidently was
the real issue they had to deal with (para.31). The minister in this case, depended on the courts
agreeing that the precedent in Kindler and Ng applied to this case. In Kindler and Ng the courts
allowed for the accused to be extradited without assurances by the Minister of Justice. In Kindler, the
courts decided that each extradition case, where convictions could result in the death penalty, each
hearing should be reviewed on a case by case basis known as the balancing process (para.65). The

reign in the hospitality industry until the late 1980s. An economic downturn and the 1990 real estate
crash resulted in MC owning newly developed hotel properties with no potential buyers in sight and a
mound of debt. During the late 1980s, MC had promised in their annual reports to sell off some of
their hotel properties and reduce their burden of debt. However, the company made little progress
toward fulfilling that promise. During 1992, MC realized that financial results were only slightly up
from the previous year and their ability to raise funds in the capital market was severely limited. MC
was left with little choice, as they had to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Evaluating Project Chariot There are a several items MC must consider prior to making the ultimate
decision of whether or not to accept Project Chariot. The first of which is the potential advantages and
disadvantages of the company undergoing a spinoff. While the concept of getting smaller or breaking
up might seem counterintuitive for MC, the action has the potential to benefit the company and its
shareholders. The idea of Project Chariot is to split the parent company, MC into two entities, HMC
(existing company) and MII. The potential benefits of the de merger are the following:
(http://www.investopedia.com/university/mergers/mergers4.asp):
1. Equity holders benefit from the emerging profitable operations of Marriott (MII)
2. Both companies are able to generate additional equity funds
3. Corporate valuation is improved by providing strong incentives to employees who work in MII. For
example, publicly traded stock options are available for employees of MII, which should provide
motivation and reward.
4. The division enables management of HMC focus on core operations.
5. Shareholders are better informed due to separate financial statements.
6. Internal competition for corporate funds is reduced.
On the other hand, there are also disadvantages to consider

22. An Interview With Professor Clarissa Wilkerson, Jd, Cpa
On Wednesday, February 24, 2016, I conducted an interview with Professor Clarissa Wilkerson, JD,
CPA. As an accounting major, I am extremely interested in pursuing a career in accounting and am a
student in Professor Wilkerson s class. Her enthusiastic personality continues to inspire me to pursue a
career in this field. After explaining my career goals and the details of this assignment, she gladly
accepted when I asked if she would be willing to conduct an interview to help me complete this
interview report. Professor Wilkerson received her Master s degree in Taxation from Georgia State
University. She is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and has considerable experience
in the field of accounting. A few of the topics we discussed were: the importance of teamwork, the
way technology is changing accounting, the value of understanding finance and economics in relation
to accounting, and the usefulness of receiving a degree in accounting and earning a CPA license.
During the interview, Professor Wilkerson stressed that teamwork is a desirable skill to possess when
entering the accounting field. She stated that it is important to provide examples of experiences
working with teams or leading teams during the interview process, because most employers will place
entry level accountants in groups or teams. The importance of teamwork is twofold; engaging in
teamwork is an opportunity to show leadership skills while simultaneously meeting the challenge of

23. Nurse Turnover And Nurse Retention
Nurse Turnover and Nurse Retention
Stephanie Williams
NURS 411.01 Issues and Leadership in Nursing
Delaware State University
The nursing shortage in healthcare has been a highlighted issue for many years. With the ever growing
health care system, hospitals and healthcare facilities often find themselves searching for ways to
acquire new nurses and retain their very own. Throughout the years, the number one solution to this
problem remains the same: decreasing nurse turnover, and increasing nurse retention. This paper
discusses the causes of high nurse turnover rate, the negative effects on health care, and ways to
improve the turnover rate. Before we can examine the consequences of high nurse turnover, we must
examine the reasons nurses choose to leave their employer and look elsewhere for work.
According to Hunt (2009), feeling overworked is the number one cause for nurse turnover in health
care settings. Other reasons at the top of the list include, lack of support from employers and few
opportunities for advancement. Due to the nursing shortage, staffing has been an issue in many
healthcare facilities. As a result, units are consistently short staffed, causing nurses to feel overworked
and unsupported by management. Cline (2004) highlighted nurse frustration when a participant in the
study stated, When you re constantly short staffed and feel your managers aren t supporting you at
least by saying, Thank you, I know you must ve had a hard

A Good Man Is Hard To Find The Necklace In today s society we tend to see people live above their
means. The reason why I may be picked or even chose. In the short story by author Guy De
Maupassant, The Necklace and the story Good Man Is Hard to Find by Flannery O Connor is because
both stories have many similarities that we can say that they are combined but different tragedies. The
ladies show that they see themselves as important in these stories. These ladies are more concerned
about their appearance and impressions on other people. These ladies refuse to admit that they are
wrong in their decisions. These ladies also suffer from pride in both stories. First, Good Man Is Hard
To Find to find that the grandmothers pride was manifested. The evidence shows that the grandmother
believes herself to be better than others. The grandmother wants everyone to realize she s a lady at all
means. In contrast, the grandmother try to manipulate her grandchildren. She even considers herself
better than her grandchildren in also better than everyone else. In the beginning of the story, it shows
that the grandmother dresses in her Sunday clothes for a family road trip, In case of an accident. She
wanted people to see if she was hurt in an accident that they will see herself as a lady. (In the story, A

25. Anthropogenic Effects on Coral Reefs Essay
Abstract:
Humans have a very large effect on the ecosystems of coral reefs. Sensitivity of coral reefs causes
them to be more susceptible to harmful anthropogenic practices. Some of these are sedimentation,
global warming, recreational activities, poison fishing, blast fishing practices, water pollution, and
coral mining. All of these very different practices can effectively end up with the same results; the
mortality of coral reefs around the world. Coral reefs are an important ecosystem of the world, and
support many different industries and millions of people. Introduction
Coral Reefs are said to be the tropical rainforest of the sea. They are home to over 25% of all marine

As a result of this, more sediment is released into rivers that flow out into the ocean and coral reefs.
Mangrove Forests are found between 32 degrees north and 38 degrees south latitude
(www.earthisland.org ). They protect the coastlines from erosion, storm damage, and wave action.
They also serve as sediment traps from inland sources, and help protect coral reefs from over
sedimentation. As land clearing and intensive farming increase these important ecosystems become
scarce (Wolanski and Spagnol 1999). Clearing the land causes an increase in soil erosion, creating
mud that flows out to coral reefs. Nowlis et. al. (1997), found more sediment and coral damage on
reefs closest to large river mouths. Sedimentation ultimately smothers coral reefs by reducing sunlight
needed for photosynthesis (Birkeland ). Normally corals can sustain low levels of sediment supply by
using natural removal processes. Over time they are unable to remove the sediment if there is too
much sediment in the water (Grigg and Dollar 1990). In worst case scenarios sediments can bury
corals completely. This was the case about 35 years ago in Castle Harbor, Bermuda. After dredging
practices took place, corals that were found with in confined water circulation had a catastrophic
mortality rate (Brown 1997).
Water Pollution
There are two significant types of water pollution that harm coral reefs; sewage run off and oil spills.

26. What Factors Affect The State Of Kansas
Despite what the rest of the country thinks, the state of Kansas is a very diverse state. Each town and
county has a multitude of factors that directly affect the overall population of that town and county. In
eastern Kansas there are quite a few large towns and cities that are interconnected together by the U.S.
interstate system. In fact all ten of the largest cites in Kansas are in the eastern half of the state. This is
not the case in western Kansas, were there are a lot of small town that are connected by state
highways. Because of this population distribution, many factors can affect the overall populations of
the 105 counties in the state of Kansas. Factors like race, income, and education levels can all affect
the population and rate

27. Critical Discourse Analysis
Critical Discourse Analysis
Social communication is increasingly becoming a subject of scientists discussions from different
disciplines, as well as ordinary language users. In contemporary social sciences, especially in
linguistics, we see a clear shift to discourse. Discourse allows us to talk about use of the language, as
well as the language as a socio cultural activity. In this sense, discourse, on one hand, reflects the
social reality, on the other hand, it shapes it, therefore participate in the creation and pass on different
values, ideologies and symbolic power. This essay aims to show the definition of Critical Discourse
Analysis and also show how useful it is for exploring issues of power and inequality in relation to
gender. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As pointed out by van Dijk (1993) one of the key objectives of the Critical Discourse Analysis is also
the understanding of the nature of power and domination. In his view, power is based on privileged
access to social resources, is widely considered as securities, such as wealth, income, position, status,
group membership, education and knowledge. However, dominance is defined as the use of social
power by elites, institutions or groups, contributing to the emergence of social inequality (including in
political, cultural, class, ethnic, racial, and gender). The task of CDA is then highlighting the role of
discourse in the producing domination.
According to Studying the Media dictionary, the complete and very well summing everything up
definition of Critical Discourse Analysis is:
...a means of analysing texts based on linguistics and in recent times the theories of Foucault.
Discourse analysis identifies the culturally and socially produced sets of ideas and values that
structure texts and representations. It helps to identify abstract and ideological assumptions about the
world that may be implicitly contained in particular texts.
Fairclough developed a three dimensional framework for studying discourse, where the aim is to map
three separate forms of analysis onto one another: analysis of (spoken or written) language texts,
analysis of discourse practice (processes of text production, distribution and

28. Why Iceland Is Considered One Of The Safest Countries
On Earth there are one hundred ninety five countries, and they are very diverse. There are hundreds, if
not thousands of religions in the world. Many countries have the same religion but there can be a
major difference between them. Religion is not the only difference between countries, including food,
laws, healthcare, cultural beliefs, weather, and the list goes on and on. There is no difference when it
comes to comparing the community in my home town, Akureyri, and Faulkner s community. When I
came to Faulkner I got a shock, and I know now why Iceland is considered one of the safest countries
in the world.
In Iceland the main religion is Christianity. The population of three hundred thirty thousand, divides
up in to, 80% Christianity and 20% that have other religion, or are atheist. According to a survey from
2010, the average Icelander goes to church four times every year. Counting every time they go to a
funeral, wedding, confirmation and baptism. At Faulkner University I would say that at least one third
of students here go to church every Sunday. Icelandic education system is put up so that every child
learns about Christianity. Addition to that they have to learn the foundation of main religions in the
world; Islam, Judaism, Hinduism and Buddhism. In Iceland an ethics class is mandatory, we learn that
there is nothing that says that we are any better than the rest of the world. Nothing says that our
believes, and culture is more correct than in other countries.

Descriptive/Values of the People:
The people that adhered to this religion were the Persians of the Persian Empire that dated from 550
330 B.C. and was located from Anatolia and Egypt across western Asia to northern India and Central
Asia. The Persian society was patriarchal but the women were seen as very valuable in society and
experienced much more equality than any other women of different empires. The economy was
mostly based on trade which brought the provinces and the entire empire together and more
integrated. Urbanized Zoroastrians governed themselves by councils of notables partly by inheritance
and partly by election. The council managed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some other important values of the people are also shown through the passages that state that the
cultivation of the individual and civic virtues of everyone, including women, following the laws and
avoiding being dishonest, caring for the poor, and loyalty to the church should be important for every
Zoroastrian.
Pourandokht was the first queen of Persia and it shows that women had quite a lot of equality and
could participate in politics and ruling of the empire.
Origin Story:
Zoroastrianism was created by a prophet named Zoroaster, or can also be referred as Ahura Mazda,
who was also considered the god of the religion. Zoroaster grew up in a polytheistic religion, where
they had animal sacrifices and crazy rituals. The Zoroastrianism religion was created where they were
against slaves, animal sacrifices, and only believed in one god (Monotheistic), this shows that his
cultural influences growing up was a big influence on what he believed in when creating this religion.
Zoroastrianism was created during the rise of Persia, when Cyrus the Great conquer the land. A big
belief in Zoroastrianism is that he believed a person should have a choice between God and the evil
spirit s . Zoroastrianism is one of the oldest religions, it combined the

Justinian belonged to a peasant family, and was not someone you d expect to become emperor.
However, he had an uncle named Justin who had entered into the Byzantine military. Justin was

adopted Justinian, after he brought him to Constantinople, and ensured that he became the first person
in their family to be educated. In 527, Justin died and Justinian formally became the leader of a great
empire.
He named his wife Theodora his empress. She was 15 years younger than him and his opposite in

31. Plan of Action for Human Trafficking and Sexual Violence
Plan of Action to Combat Human Trafficking
Abstract
Human trafficking is a crime that without the proper direction will cost the human being the right to
have freedom. Every person has the right to choose and not fall into being victimized by someone who
is in the pursuit of indentured servitude. This billion dollar industry is aiding the criminal acts such as
drug trafficking and production, sexual assault, sexual rape (male or female), and most of all abuse
and neglect of all the victims involved. Most people want to believe that human trafficking is non
existent and only happens to victims who are participating in any illegal enterprise. The ugly truth is
that most people who have been trafficked did not know the ramifications ... Show more content on

So everything needs to be evaluated to make sure they are not contributing to human trafficking and/or
the death of the victim. When it comes to the labored help (farmhands, nannies, etc.), there should be a
system in place that their living situations should be monitored. This can be accomplished by being
able to go to persons residence and/or job and have conversations with them just to let them know that
if something goes wrong they have help.
An estimated 2.5 million people are in forced labor (including sexual exploitation) at any given time
as a result of trafficking (International Labour Organization). According to the United Nations
compiled report, In 2006 there were only 5,808 prosecutions and 3,160 convictions throughout the
world (United States State Department, 2007). This means that out of all the people that were being
victimized, if you had 800 victims only one person was prosecuted. That number is absurd! So why is
that so many people are not prosecuted for these heinous acts of crimes against a human? One reason
is because when it comes to what is legal or nor changes depending on what part of the world one is
in. What may be illegal here in the United States may be legal in other countries. In some countries,
the law enforcement either condones or has a hand in human trafficking. Corrupt police can become
directly involved by helping create and shield a trafficking scheme or by colluding with traffickers by
alerting them to
