My Approach to TPACK
Creative 21st Century Lessons
I start with the individual labels...
● Technology: Am I using the technology that best fits my
learning goals? What do I need to know about this tool to get
started?
● Content: What do I need to know in-order to help my
students meet their learning goals?
● Pedagogical: What best practices are being applied to this
lesson? Are there others I can incorporate? (For me this is
also where the 21st Century Skills come in, am I using
activities that encourage students to collaborate, create and
think critically?
Then move into the middle section:
● Technological Pedagogical Knowledge: What are the
benefits and downfalls of using a certain tool? What needs to
be considered before you use a tool in an educational setting?
● Technological Content Knowledge: How do your
technology and content work together? What technology tool
will best fit your content?
● Pedagogical Content Knowledge: How do I take what I
know about the subject or topic and make it so my students
understand? How can represent the information to reach
different learners?
Lastly, the middle section:
● How do all of the pieces of the model work
together to create a lesson that is best suited for
your students and your classroom?
