What have youlearntfrom youraudience feedback?
Afterthe productionof the musicvideo, Iandmy group have decidedtoshow outmusicvideotoa
range of people all withinourtargetaudience whichwasteenagers.Aswe goto an all girlssixthform,
we thoughtthat it wouldbe the bestopportunitytoshow the teenage girlsourmusicvideoandget
feedbackonit.We askedthemto give usfeedbackonwhattheythoughtwas godand what they
thoughtthat we neededtoimprove on.
Basedon our musicvideo,we have askedthe girlsarange of questionsaboutthe musicvideo.The
feedbackthatwe currentlygot was thatthe shotsare goingtoofast and theykeepmissingonwhat
wentonin the shot andsaidthat it causesfrustrationandtheywouldhave likeditif the shotswhere
there foran appropriate amountof time as theywere goingtoofast.HoweverIdisagree withthis
because the whole pointof the musicvideoisbasedonthe maincharactergirl havingflashbacksand
whensomeone hasflashbacksthen itisintendedtogofastand not slow sowe have triedto copy the
mindof a flashbackthroughthe use of fastpace shotspeedingup.
Aftermakingyoungteenagerswatchourmusicvideo,we have receivedsomepositive feedbackand
feedbackinwhatto improve on.Some of whatthe viewershave saidisthatthere wasgooduse of post-
moderneffectsandthere was a lotof cameraanglesandlikedthe effectof whenthe girl character
walksintothe room andthere isan effectof whenshe dropsherbag on the floorwhenshe catchesher
boyfriendcheatingonherwithherownfriend.Theysaidthatit emphasizedthe shockanddisbeliefthat
the maincharacter was in.Thishas reallymade usas a grou thinkmore about the importance of the
effectsandthe significancethatithas to the musicvideo.Onthe otherhandwe had otherpeople saying
that the musicvideostory wasn’tmakingscene astheythoughtsome scenesdidn’treallymake sense to
the musicvideoastheyhave foundit hardto understanddue tomany shotswas inone musicvideoas
the musicvideowasgoingfast.We take thison boardand in the future we look toput lessshotsinthe
musicvideoandslowdownthe more importantbitssothat the audience canfocus onwhat we need
themto focuson.
