La docencia tiene sus bondades, innegables son los atributos que se le han dado al docente a través de los tiempos, ha sido una de las figuras más respetadas de la sociedad, hombres y mujeres que se dedican en cuerpo y alma a la guía de nuestros futuros profesionales, personas que logran despertar en los estudiantes la curiosidad por la investigación, la innovación, personas con gran impacto social ya que en sus manos está la formación competitiva de los jóvenes, los docentes tienen visión integral de sus funciones: docencia, investigación y extensión dando a los estudiantes las fortalezas para que ellos mismos utilicen ese potencial en extramuros de la universidad, eso es para el docente una actividad placentera porque deja enseñanzas significativas al alumno. Pero también se debe de considerar las dificultades que encuentran los docentes, las cuales en los tiempos modernos y en el contexto en el cual se desarrollan trae consigo dificultades que traen barreras a su labor educativa y les toca replantear su acción pedagógica para atender ante las demandas y desafíos de la época, porque es bien sabido que estamos ante la era digital, la era de las TICs, las cuales exigen mejorar la calidad de la educación y que se comprometan con la realidad educativa; por consiguiente docencia, investigación y gestión son tres elementos esenciales en las instituciones de educación superior.
