MUSIC VIDEO
NARRATIVE/PERFORMANCE

SONG/MUSIC: Call Me Maybe
ARTIST: Carly Rae Jepsen
DIRECTOR/PROD HOUSE: Luke Taylor

GENERAL CONCEPT:
The general idea for this music video is to generate a ‘cheesy’ video which is fit with the song; the
video must stick in people’s minds as the song is massively popular and catchy. The music video
needs to be bright and vibrant.

GUIDELINES:
Here are a few ideas I want to apply to my music video;
   1) Using a mix of camera techniques – handheld (to make the video more realistic) and
professional camera (for clean cut images)
   2) It will be a performance video as the people will be preforming towards the camera, and
also a narrative video as it is telling a story.
   3) Many people will be needed to sing the chorus; I want to have as many people as possible
miming one word of the song, editing it all together to credit the song. E.g. ‘hey’ ‘I’ ‘just’
       ‘met’ ‘you’
   4) There will various locations – indoor and outdoor.
   5) High key lighting will be used for indoor shots and natural lighting for the outdoor shots to fit
       in with the song.
   6) Wardrobe will be bright and ‘stand out’ outfits, we will cast teenagers as the target audience
for this song is teenagers and young teens.
   7) There will be a couple acting out the verses of the song.
   8) We will use the simply cut to editing technique for the quick chorus snippets and multiple
editing for the verses e.g. cut to, fade to.
   9) Mainly close ups and medium shots.
