This reflection shows my ideas of whether or not Twitter is a useful PLN.

REFLECTION

2.  I was very excited when I heard that we would be making a
Twitter account for this class, because I really enjoy using
Twitter. I thought that it was a very good way to connect with
people and to learn new ideas. Here is a snapshot of my
Twitter account, created in January of 2014.
INTIAL IDEAS

3.  Throughout the last four months, I have followed 32 people,
and I currently have 36 followers. For a very long time I was
hovering around 15 followers, but after I began to retweet and
create my own tweets, my follower count rose. Here is a
screenshot of some of my followers. As you can see, most
people who follow me have created educational PLN’s of their
own.

4.  I really enjoyed going on Twitter to find different education
accounts to follow, and I have really learned some new things
from them. After sifting through 32 wonderful Twitter
accounts and going through a barrage of magazine articles
and websites, I have found three very interesting people to
follow on Twitter.

5.  Located in the USA, Edutopia is a fantastic account ran by
multiple people. They discuss how to get kids engaged and
active at school, and many other topics. This is a great
account to follow because they tweet about a wide range of
things, all to do with education, that could be helpful in the
classroom.

6.  Steven W. Anderson runs this twitter account. He attends
conferences around the world, mostly to do with Web 2.0
technologies in the classroom. This is a wonderful account to
follow because it includes many ideas about how to integrate
technology in the classroom successfully.

7.  Jerry Blumengarten is an educator and a speaker throughout
the United States. Like Anderson, Blumengarten is concerned
with integrating tech successfully for both students and
teachers. Again, this makes this PLN very useful to follow
because it provides tips and resources on how to do this.

8.  I really enjoyed using Twitter as a PLN this semester, and
would strongly recommend it to anyone who is stepping into
the field of education. I have attempted to make contributions
to the Twitter-verse, replying to some tweets and creating
some of my own. Overall, I would definitely recommend
Twitter as a PLN.
