This paper presents three power-aware multicast routing strategies for cluster-based mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) using Software Defined Networking (SDN) to improve routing efficiency and minimize power consumption. The proposed strategies include a reactive multicast routing strategy (RMCMS), a proactive multicast routing strategy (PMCMS), and a modified PMCMS (M-PMCMS), all aimed at optimizing the lifetime of the network while considering energy limitations and node mobility. Simulation results indicate that RMCMS shows better performance in power consumption and network overhead, while M-PMCMS performs best in dropped packets ratio and average end-to-end delay.
