The Splitter Flow Control splits messages into fragments and sends them individually to the next processor. It identifies segments based on an expression, usually in Mule Expression Language. Splitting and aggregating allows processing message parts asynchronously across servers while still reassembling the full message. The splitter configuration wizard provides options for the display name, correlation IDs, message size, and mapping message attributes to IDs. The advanced tab adds business event tracking, while notes and metadata tabs include additional information.
