Editor's Notes
Bicol Region has 6 provinces, all which have COVID cases. Camarines Sur and Albay have the most number of confirmed COVID-19 patients.
This is the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital. It is one of only two COVID-19 Referral Centers in Bicol. As of July 14, it has attended to 1,757 COVID consultations and has had 359 COVID admissions.
The next few slides will show the different prevention and control measures that BRTTH has designed and implemented.
The hospital’s triaging system immediately directs patients on where to go and what to do. Possible COVID-19 cases are separated from other patients and are seen by the COVID team in designated areas. Tent 1 is for non-emergency COVID consults while Tent 2 is for emergency COVID consults.
Trainings on donning and doffing of PPEs were conducted for all hospital employees. Safety precautions were observed. Wearing of face masks, goggles, face shields, water impermeable gowns, frequent hand washing and alcohol hand scrubs.
Isolation wards for COVID-19 patients were put up. One operating room/delivery room was made exclusive for COVID-19 cases.
Both at the OPD and in the wards, physical distancing is observed and patients with Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) are segregated.
To lessen exposure and risk of transmission, skeletal workforce was implemented. Meetings, conferences, and teaching sessions are done online.
