European contact began in 1642, and epidemics killed 60% of the southern North Island Maori population in 1790. Between 1825-1918, 20,000 Maori were killed in internecine warfare involving muskets. In the 19th century the idea of a Maori King was proposed, and resistance to colonization continued despite British sovereignty established via the Treaty of Waitangi in 1840. Traditional Maori education was orally based and focused on cultural transmission, while food sources included crops like kumara as well as hunting and fishing.

Cyprus today has a population consisting mainly of Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots, with Greek and Turkish as the primary languages of each community, respectively. The island is divided between the areas controlled by the Republic of Cyprus and the northern area occupied by Turkey since 1974. Cyprus seeks to promote peace between its communities while maintaining its distinct Greek and Turkish identities and cultural traditions around food, arts, and mythology.

This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover

- 3. Geographical Location “Cyprus”, and officially from 1960, “The Republic of Cyprus” is an island. It is located in the Eastern Mediterranean and it is the 3rd largest and most populous island in the Mediterranean Sea. It is south of Turkey, west of Syria and Lebanon, northwest of Israel and Palestine, north of Egypt and southeast of Greece. Generally, between the continents of Africa, Asia and Europe. History The earliest known human activity on the island dates back to around the 10th millennium BC. Archaeological remains from this period include the well-preserved Neolithic village of Choirokitia. Cyprus is home to some of the oldest water wells in the world.

Population and districts Cyprus consists of 6 districts : Nicosia which is the only divided European capital , Limassol being the most populated, Paphos which is connected to the island’s most interesting myths, Kyrenia that is occupied by the Turkish troops, Famagusta, the district with the most famous beaches in Cyprus, half of which is also occupied, And lastly Larnaca with the island’s largest international airport. KYRENIA FAMAGUSTA NICOSIA LIMASSOL LARNACA PAPHOS The current population of the island in the South is about 891,000 people.
- 6. Languages The official languages of Cyprus are: Greek Turkish. and English Greek is spoken predominantly in the South. Turkish is spoken mainly in the Northern part of the island. English is very widely spoken in the South by locals of all ages, partially because of previous British rule and partially due to the tourism industry.

- 10. ... Cyprus gained its independence from the United Kingdom in 1960. Despite a constitution which guaranteed a degree of power- sharing between the Greek Cypriot majority and the Turkish Cypriot minority, the two populations, clashed in 1974. And the result of this is the occupation of 40% of the Northern part of the island by the Turkish Troops. Cyprus is still not free and Cypriot people need to show their ID card to visit their homeland. Some of our compatriots are still refugees in their own country. Some others are still missing, while others died during the war, defending our country and its freedom. The July of 1974 will never be forgotten.
