Sławomir Mrożek is a Polish playwright and novelist born in 1930 in Borzęcin, Poland. He debuted professionally in 1950 and emigrated to France in 1963, traveling throughout Europe. Some of his most famous works include "The Elephant", "Tango", and "Emigrants". His plays are considered part of the Theatre of the Absurd genre and often discuss philosophical and political issues in Polish history and culture. In 2011, a festival was held in his honor at a high school in Poland.
