OBJEKTIF PEMBELAJARAN (LEARNING OBJECTIVE)
 Unit ini membincangkan tentang ilmu ketamadunan yang
mencakupi pengenalan ilmu ketamadunan, interaksi antara
pelbagai tamadun Melayu, Cina dan India, Islam dalam
Tamadun Melayu, Isu-isu kontemporari Tamadun Islam dan
Tamadun Asia, Islam Hadhari dan proses pembangunan
negara.
 Objektif mata pelajaran ini ialah untuk memperkenalkan
kepada pelajar tentang ilmu ketamadunan yang mencakupi
pengenalan ilmu ketamadunan, interaksi antara pelbagai
tamadun, Isu-isu kontemporari dan implikasinya kepada
proses pembangunan Negara di samping melahirkan pelajar
yang mempunyai sikap hormat menghormati, mengamalkan
nilai-nilai murni dan mempunyai jati diri sebagai warganegara.

HASIL PEMBELAJARAN (LEARNING OUTCOMES)
1. Menyenaraikan konsep-konsep utama Tamadun Islam
dan Tamadun Asia (TITAS);
2. Menerangkan kepentingan dan peranan agama dan
budaya masing-masing dalam kehidupan;
3. Mengaplikasi kemahiran komunikasi secara berkesan
dalam penulisan dan lisan di peringkat individu,
kumpulan dan masyarakat.
ATTENDANCE POLICY

ATTENDANCE POLICY
 A Malaysian student enrolled in General Studies (GS) U1 units
are required to attend a minimum of 80% of the scheduled
lecture sessions.
 Failure in achieving minimum percentage of attendance shall
result in student being barred for Final Examination or any
other penalties recommended to be imposed by the GS Office.
 Late comers or absent for face-to-face lectures may not be
permitted to enter the lecture as well as incompletion of any
online learning activities prescribed shall be marked as
Absent – No reason (AN).
 Original medical certificates issued by certified and approved
medical practitioners are required to be produced to the
General Studies Office in order to be deemed as Absent –
Others (AO).

 All students must ensure they have access to the
resources required for successful completion of this unit.
– Continuous & stable Internet access for accessing Moodle and
streaming online materials;
– Computer / laptop / tablet / mobile phones;
– Good, above average high quality speaker or headphone for
podcast / audio;
– Other related resources such as handouts provided by the
lecturer, the unit’s Moodle site, and academic articles from
databases and other related and required information.

SUMMARY OF ASSESSMENT TASKS (1)
 Assessment task(s) is defined as tasks / activities prescribed
for a student to undertake throughout the enrolment of the
course.
 A student is required to undertake, attempt, complete and
submit ALL assessment tasks prescribed as the requirement
for undertaken, completion and passing of this unit as a
hurdle.
 Failing to do so will result a student to receive a FAIL grade
and will be required to re-enrol and undertake the unit again.
 The overall weighting for assessment tasks consist of the
following:
– 60% continuous assessments
– 40% written final examination

TASK 1: LEARNING REINFORCEMENT EXERCISE (LRE)
 Weekly-based face-to-face and / or e-lecture online
exercises.
 All LREs are released via Moodle.
 A student is required to attempt this particular
assessment task as part of the requirement for
undertaken, completion, submission and passing this
unit.
 Value: Varies from 5% for all LRE.

TASK 2: GROUP ASSIGNMENT
 Students are required to form a group to write and
produce an assignment with the topics provided.
 Selection of group members can be done in Moodle.
 A student is required to attempt this particular
assessment task as part of the requirement for
undertaken, completion, submission and passing this
unit.
 Value: 30% for each assignment.

TASK 3: ONLINE QUIZ(-ZES)
 Weekly-based face-to-face and / or e-lecture online
exercises.
 A student is required to attempt this particular
assessment task as part of the requirement for
undertaken, completion, submission and passing this
unit.
 All online quiz(-zes) are released via Moodle.
 Value: 15% for each online quiz.

TASK 4: FINAL EXAMINATION
 Closed-book written examination.
 A student is required to attempt this particular
assessment task as part of the requirement for
undertaken, completion, submission and passing this
unit.
 All topics taught in this unit are examinable. Topics
covered in the assignments may be included and
assessed in the exam.
 Value: 40%

  • 3. 3 OBJEKTIF PEMBELAJARAN (LEARNING OBJECTIVE)  Unit ini membincangkan tentang ilmu ketamadunan yang mencakupi pengenalan ilmu ketamadunan, interaksi antara pelbagai tamadun Melayu, Cina dan India, Islam dalam Tamadun Melayu, Isu-isu kontemporari Tamadun Islam dan Tamadun Asia, Islam Hadhari dan proses pembangunan negara.  Objektif mata pelajaran ini ialah untuk memperkenalkan kepada pelajar tentang ilmu ketamadunan yang mencakupi pengenalan ilmu ketamadunan, interaksi antara pelbagai tamadun, Isu-isu kontemporari dan implikasinya kepada proses pembangunan Negara di samping melahirkan pelajar yang mempunyai sikap hormat menghormati, mengamalkan nilai-nilai murni dan mempunyai jati diri sebagai warganegara.
  • 4. 4 HASIL PEMBELAJARAN (LEARNING OUTCOMES) 1. Menyenaraikan konsep-konsep utama Tamadun Islam dan Tamadun Asia (TITAS); 2. Menerangkan kepentingan dan peranan agama dan budaya masing-masing dalam kehidupan; 3. Mengaplikasi kemahiran komunikasi secara berkesan dalam penulisan dan lisan di peringkat individu, kumpulan dan masyarakat.
  • 6. 6 ATTENDANCE POLICY  A Malaysian student enrolled in General Studies (GS) U1 units are required to attend a minimum of 80% of the scheduled lecture sessions.  Failure in achieving minimum percentage of attendance shall result in student being barred for Final Examination or any other penalties recommended to be imposed by the GS Office.  Late comers or absent for face-to-face lectures may not be permitted to enter the lecture as well as incompletion of any online learning activities prescribed shall be marked as Absent – No reason (AN).  Original medical certificates issued by certified and approved medical practitioners are required to be produced to the General Studies Office in order to be deemed as Absent – Others (AO).
  • 8. 8 TOTAL LEARNING & TEACHING TIME  Remaining hours can be used for: – Practical / Hands-on. – Research. – Info-retrieval & self-study. Learning and Teaching Activities Hours Face-to-face lectures 12 Online lectures (e-lectures) 12 Others (self-study, revision, assignment writing etc) 96 TOTAL 120
  • 9. 9 LEARNING & TEACHING APPROACH (1) Heutagogical Blended Learners are independent, manage their own learning, knowing how to learn & can work well with others. Combination of face-to-face learning and online learning.
  • 10. 10 LEARNING & TEACHING APPROACH (2)  All students must ensure they have access to the resources required for successful completion of this unit. – Continuous & stable Internet access for accessing Moodle and streaming online materials; – Computer / laptop / tablet / mobile phones; – Good, above average high quality speaker or headphone for podcast / audio; – Other related resources such as handouts provided by the lecturer, the unit’s Moodle site, and academic articles from databases and other related and required information.

Face-to-face presence is not required.

Face-to-face presence is not required Online Quiz 1 (Topics assessed from Week 1 – Week 3) 26/12 / 30/12 5 Tamadun Cina Face-to-face learning Students are required to attend the lecture.

  • 20. 20 TASK 1: LEARNING REINFORCEMENT EXERCISE (LRE)  Weekly-based face-to-face and / or e-lecture online exercises.  All LREs are released via Moodle.  A student is required to attempt this particular assessment task as part of the requirement for undertaken, completion, submission and passing this unit.  Value: Varies from 5% for all LRE.
  • 21. 21 TASK 2: GROUP ASSIGNMENT  Students are required to form a group to write and produce an assignment with the topics provided.  Selection of group members can be done in Moodle.  A student is required to attempt this particular assessment task as part of the requirement for undertaken, completion, submission and passing this unit.  Value: 30% for each assignment.

  • 23. 23 TASK 4: FINAL EXAMINATION  Closed-book written examination.  A student is required to attempt this particular assessment task as part of the requirement for undertaken, completion, submission and passing this unit.  All topics taught in this unit are examinable. Topics covered in the assignments may be included and assessed in the exam.  Value: 40%
