PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Teamsters Union Local 170 2007-2015
Secretary Treasurer/Principal Officer
Responsibilities:
• Managed a staff of over 20 people and supervised the day-to-day operations including grievances, arbitration
and negotiations for over 200 collective bargaining agreements, representing over 4,000 members for both the
public and private sector
• Trained staff on topics related to labor relations, working conditions, safety and equal opportunity practices
• Managed an annual budget in excess of $4 million
• Worked collaboratively with local and state-wide elected officials on various union matters
• Drafted contract proposals and counter-proposals for collective bargaining negotiations
• Investigated and evaluated union complaints to establish viability
• Mediated discussions between members and employers in an effort to reconcile differences
• Facilitated monthly membership meetings
As Trustee for Teamsters Union Local 170 Health & Welfare Fund
• Managed the investment of over $30 million annually
• Provided oversight of staff of 10 people in collaboration with fund administrator
As member of the New England Area parcel Grievance Committee

• Directly responsible for growth of membership through election and recognition process
• Developed and presented evidence at the National Labor Relations Board and other agencies outlining strategic
position of the union
