2. Who did I
ask?
• In order to get a good grasp of my final audience and
the things they desired to see I asked 30 people of
varying ages. 10 of them were 20-30, 10 were 15-19 and
10 were 30-40.The answers that will hold the most
weight for me is the 20-30 bracket this is the largest
demographic for science fiction
3. What most

you on a
movie poster?

Concept Actors CGI
This strangely was a complete split. Meaning that all of these features
appeal to audiences. As my movie has no famous actors I will focus on
CGI and concept- these sections also finding most popularity in my
demographic when looking at the results.
4. How
important is a
movie poster
to you
watching a
movie?
Very important Important Not very important Not important
From this we can see there is a clear swing towards the importance of
movie posters. For this reason I need to make sure the concept and plot
of trailer is clear on the poster.
5. Would you
rather a movie
poster is
complex or
simple?

Simple Complex
From here the swing is towards simple- most of my demographic
voting this way. For this reason I will make my magazine poster simple
to appeal to the most amount of people possible.
6. Which era of
science fiction
poster most
appeal to you-
pre 2000’s with
more focus on
concept or post
2000’s with a
focus on actors?

Pre-2000's Post-2000's
From this we can see the pre 2000 style of concept and genre most
appeals to audiences- producing such iconic posters as StarWars and
Alien. I will do the same for my movie poster.
7. What have I
learnt?
• Overall the focus for posters appears to be on
simplistic styles, displaying genre and concept. For this
reason in the creation of my media poster I follow the
conventions my audience wishes to see- focussing on
my concept, genre and the basic ideas behind my
movie.
