2. Idea behind this poster
As seen in this poster I wanted to go for a very simple but striking
portrait poster- minimalism was crucial in this. This poster for the
massive movie AVATAR uses the same idea, I hoped to create something
with the same success as this.
3. In order to get a portrait image I first began with the original image I had
used for the first poster I cropped it so it could be used in a portrait
poster.
4. I inserted the text using the text tool, again I used the same font as the
movie trailer. This time I made the title more dominant as despite the
poster being minimalistic it had to sell the movie and keep the title in
the viewers head.
5. This IMAX image was taken from the internet, in order to insert it I had
to get rid of the white space. This was done using the magic wand tool.
6. The IMAX symbol was then inserted into the bottom of the poster.
7. I realised that my poster was too condensed to be used, for this reason I
elongated it’s base using the move tool and made it wider and longer
meaning it could then be used to advertise the movie.
8. Printed and distributed the poster would
look something like this. This effect was
simply used by inserting a white rectangle.
