In 2014-15, the University of Liverpool’s Library Service embarked upon a three-part usability study to better understand how library users were engaging with our resource discovery platform (EBSCO’s Discovery Service), to identify any usability issues and assess the extent to which it was currently meeting their needs. This in turn enabled us to make informed, evidence-based changes to the interface, improving its overall usability and providing a more user-friendly, intuitive, effective and efficient resource. In this paper we will examine the methodologies employed, what we found and the changes subsequently made to the interface.

Years later, when the narrator meets Meena in Bombay, he is surprised to find her very cheerful and optimistic. Meena explains that seeing an old beggar and his granddaughter happily playing in the rain despite being hungry changed her outlook on life. She realized how much she took for granted compared to them, and decided to be more grateful and find happiness in small things like they did. This encounter with the beggar two years prior had a profound impact on Meena and transformed her into a more positive person.

She realized how much she took for granted compared to them, and decided to be more grateful and find happiness in small things like they did. This encounter with the beggar two years prior had a profound impact on Meena and transformed her into a more positive person.

古今中外，地震一直是無可避免地存在我們的身邊，作為渺小的人類，地震一直像是揮之不去的夢靨，好比九二一地震作為台灣人的集體記憶，研究資料甚多，然而市面上的影視作品卻著墨甚少—尤其是商業電影類，鮮少直接利用這個素材進行完整創作。本研究創作《渴望愛》電影劇本是個關於對父親存有偏見的兒子，心裡卻是始終渴求著父愛，在面對地震後天崩地裂的局面中，重新認識彼此的故事。主角是我自身的投射，我希望能在英雄追尋自我的的旅程中，也同樣地重新檢視我自己的內心對父親的態度。
本研究創作主要是以三幕劇為基礎。首先我參照美國編劇理論學者Christopher Vogler所提倡的「卡爾˙榮格角色原型」（The Archetypes of Carl Gustav Jung）來形塑我的登場角色。接著依循美國編劇電影理論家Blake Snyder所創的十五個劇本節拍，更加細分整部戲劇的衝突過程，希望透過符合科學化且具商業價值的編劇理論基礎去創作電影劇本，達成好萊塢或是美式電影中最強調的「高概念」與「普世價值」。最後參照美國電影藝術與科學學院（奧斯卡）所主辦的劇本比賽「美國電影藝術與科學學院尼科爾獎學金」格式來完成本創作劇本的分場對白本。

Evaluating Articles Using Active Learning Techniques

In 2014, librarians at Washington University in St. Louis developed an annual research conference for advanced graduate students in the Humanities. This conference was inspired by the desire to connect to graduate students at the dissertation stage as librarians had observed a gap in librarian-graduate student interactions between the first years of graduate school and when students embark on their own dissertation research. Librarians discovered that graduate students often struggle in isolation with similar research questions as well as project management and dissertation writing; thus, we aptly entitled the conference “You’re in Good Company: A Mini-Conference for Advanced Graduate Students in the Humanities.” We will share the make-up of the conference, gathering input on session offerings, funding considerations, marketing, assessment, and administrative needs.
Our presentation will focus in part on the variety of sessions we have been able to offer and our collaborations with faculty and other campus partners. Sessions included not only advanced research skills but also hands-on workshops for technologies such as Zotero, Scrivener, and mobile apps. Faculty presented sessions about dissertation writing, time management strategies, tips for getting published and funded, as well as their own personal experiences.
The conference demonstrated the value of the library to the university community as You’re in Good Company will be in its third year and appears to be filling a void to further research skills, discovery of Humanities resources, and awareness of new technologies. We will also share our developing body of conference video and audio recordings. Finally, we will present recommendations to assist other librarians interested in developing a similar conference.

This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
