Molo 12 is a coworking space and startup community in southern Italy founded by Salvatore Modeo. It has over 1600 members, hosts 70 events and supports 40 startups and 25 projects annually. The mission is to build an ecosystem to support young people and innovators in creating businesses through community. With increased connectivity, networks at both a global and local level are growing rapidly whilst new communities can develop and flourish through digital channels. These allow for resources to be shared, swapped, borrowed and traded; bearing a new economy that favours access over ownership. This is a dramatically different user experience context that demands a transformation of our approach to service design. In this session we will share findings from our global research that explored the experiences and opportunities involved in moving from an ownership economy to one built on access and sharing. In this presentation we present guidelines for creating value exchange networks and share some tools we’ve developed for creating networked services and business models in the sharing economy. Being a designer in a technology start-up can be stressful. When a new venture starts with a brilliant idea, it's up to you to guide them through a design process that turns a plan into a much loved product. You need to communicate with stakeholders, collaborate with developers, and solve problems, usually many times a day, just to turn that brilliant idea into something useful people actually need. This talk will share some practical ideas and processes I've developed and battle-tested with clients to make the design process as stress-free as possible.

This presentation checks the current, trends and the possible future of work. Time was limited to 25 minutes, yet generated 50+ tweets, indicating the subject is indeed interesting. Some of the challenging areas of change and future is technology alone will not solve it, neither will a focus on a change of corporate habits and culture. It needs to be a joint action. The presentation is edited post-presentation as a flip-board chart was used for flexibility with the audience as well as co-creation effects.
