– Included 67 datasets from 5 Public Agencies
– 1500 visitors and 300 downloads in the first 2 weeks

4. • Prime Minister FILAT signs ‘Open Data’ directive on April 29th
2011, making Moldova one of the 16 countries implementing
Open Government Data Initiative
– Addressed to and mandatory for all Central Public Administrations
– Asking each to provide 3 high value datasets per month
• Ministry of Finance publishes since May 25th 2011, the entire
database of public expenses in raw and in pivot table formats
(BOOST Moldova)
• eGC launched on April 15th the eTransformation Apps Contest,
based on open and crowd-sourced data
• OGD Portal reaches 6000 visitors,
115 published datasets (another ~100
datasets pending, 4000 downloads)

– All our data is already on our website
• Aggregated data, PDF, Word documents, JPEG images
– We can’t publish our data – it’s SECRET
– Data is being sent in the appropriate file formats but in an
unstructured form, with no related metadata
– Inaccurate data, data that is hard to match and link. e.g.
Different id’s even within the same Ministry (e.g. schools)
• Citizens:
– Why is data in such a mess?
– Raw data - what is this? why do I need it?
– We need visualizations, graphs, maps!
