Now let’s read a text on National Day.
NATIONAL DAY
During the school holidays, Imran went to watch the National Day parade at Putrajaya. He took
some pictures of the parade to send to his pen-pals in Australia and Japan. Many people took
part in the grand parade. Imran was very excited to see it.
Among the photographs he took were of the police and soldiers. There were also
representatives from various government departments such as the Defence Ministry, schools and
organizations. They looked smart in their uniforms.
He saw the king, the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and other
ministers standing proudly on a grandstand and watching the parade. He also saw many tourists
among the crowd. Many people were waving the Jalur Gemilang. Everyone enjoyed watching the
parade. It was a very meaningful day for all Malaysians.
