Question #1
Blogs and Wikis
Before now, I had never constructed a blog or a wiki, and it
was very interesting trying to figure it the settings and how
to work it. I think these are great applications for students
to use in virtually any academic area. I vas very surprised
to see that a few people had been on my blog to post a
comment. It is my desire to play with my blog and wiki so
that they look very professional as others that I looked at. I
was able to spread information about my favorite author
Dr. Seuss, and other information I found helpful. Students
in my class said they enjoy posting on wikis and blogs
during the year by the English instructor. Finally this is also
a great way to receive instant feedback when you post a
discussion topic on the literature you are reading.

Question # 1
Social Networking
Social networking has spread like a house fire;
therefore, it was not hard for me to pick and report on
this platform. In my last academic course we created
a private group on Facebook and we use this site for
helpful hints. We remind one another of upcoming
assignments, due dates for papers, modules, trouble
shooting technical differences and sharing
information about our accomplishments. If the teacher
is running late or if a student is late for class we
report here so that everyone is abreast of the most
current information.
Summary
This chapter talks about the concept of Web
2.0 Tools and the opportunities it offers
students in the media center. Many
applications are fun and worthwhile for
students to use in an effort to integrate
technology into the curriculum.

Wiki- A great way for two or more people to collaborate 5. Twitter- A social network 6. Library Promotion- A great way too promote reading and advertising new books 7. Collaborative project- Working with a group to complete a project 8. Blog- Online logs arranged in chronological order 9. Library 2.0- Libraries that are moving forward with advanced applications such as social networking, Twitter, Blog, Podcasting, and Wikis 10. Website- A set of related webpages containing text, video, audio, and images
  • 12. Response to Questions Question #1 Blogs and Wikis Before now, I had never constructed a blog or a wiki, and it was very interesting trying to figure it the settings and how to work it. I think these are great applications for students to use in virtually any academic area. I vas very surprised to see that a few people had been on my blog to post a comment. It is my desire to play with my blog and wiki so that they look very professional as others that I looked at. I was able to spread information about my favorite author Dr. Seuss, and other information I found helpful. Students in my class said they enjoy posting on wikis and blogs during the year by the English instructor. Finally this is also a great way to receive instant feedback when you post a discussion topic on the literature you are reading.
  • 13. Response Question Continued Question # 1 Social Networking Social networking has spread like a house fire; therefore, it was not hard for me to pick and report on this platform. In my last academic course we created a private group on Facebook and we use this site for helpful hints. We remind one another of upcoming assignments, due dates for papers, modules, trouble shooting technical differences and sharing information about our accomplishments. If the teacher is running late or if a student is late for class we report here so that everyone is abreast of the most current information.
  • 14. Summary This chapter talks about the concept of Web 2.0 Tools and the opportunities it offers students in the media center. Many applications are fun and worthwhile for students to use in an effort to integrate technology into the curriculum.  Wikis  Podcast  Twitter Facebook  Podcasting  Virtual Worlds
